anyone else binge watched all of these episodes in an evening?
is 5 am bro
Absolutely, It's sick as
Yeah
Yes whole night
ya
Brings back memories from when I was there as a young recruit, Waiouru is really something. Would love to see this film crew do a doco on all NZ services basic training, and for officer training.
I like the German girl. She pushes herself despite being sore. I know that’s the point of the army but basics seems to separate the weak from the strong and she’s definitely in the latter.
isnt she irish
I worked with Melina at a bar/restaurant in wanganui years ago, she always went above and beyond. cool to see she's doing even better now
Lol at 4:55 imagine giving your secco that sort of backchat on basic none the less 😂 what the fuck
I just Applied for the army Yesterday
Best wishes and good luck
@@atozrecovery518 thanks mate 😍🇦🇺
Good luck, I hope you make it in
Congrats . Leave your door locked until your a lance or do the kiwis not haze and beer board
@kk mm lol I just realized
80% will be auxiliary, 20% will be infantry. Auxiliary are required to have BASIC combat training, which is taking place in the video. The Combat Corps Training is 14 weeks of intense combat training.
Sort of true, sort of not. The combat corps is only 13 weeks, and still requires basic training. You are right that only about 20% will head that way, but remember, it's accounting for another specialisation within the army.
But basically, they're our Marines, in other terms. Most other troops might still have to deploy and enter combat zones, but it's mostly these guys that will be on the frontline doing that sort of thing.
Question
No more Steyr rifles?
@@gabegrace8333 Yes. Replaced by the Mars-L in 2017.
@@petelosuaniu cheers
fancy seeing you here skylark
I was there from new yr till February lovely place
How's it compared to this series?
Wouldn't trust them hotbox meals half my platoon got the squiters while out doing maneuvers with two more days patrolling to go, was not fun haha
will there be a 2nd season ??? surely !!
✊🏽Kiwa
limlimpt, love from Okanagan Nation🇨🇦
We did a 100km Advance to contact within 24hrs to pass out of Infantry Corps Training these guys are falling apart on a 5km stroll 😂
That's because it is basic training not trade training ya numpty.
Do they still dig in on basic??
I enjoy theis so much i finish 1vido and think crap its been 26 minets
Apllied up the other week, just waiting to hear back

Thank you for watching!
So weird looking at my backyard on UA-cam 😂 it is much less dramatic then it seems here
okie
Gonna apply but gotta train myself mentally and physically first
Same, man. I know I can do the physical if I train, but I’m more worried for my mental.
@@sirah1282 I think a good way to train your mind is to meditate bro
@@CrepzYT oh for sure! Good luck tho
Wait until you have to carry your equivalent to the MAG58. That piece of German tech is a beast. And break contact drills that go for over 10km,
NZ's equivalent of the MAG58 is... the MAG58. Which is Belgian, not German.
Hey Cuz bro get that gun going! Hahahaha
does it go silent for anybody else to? (randomly?)
Change the description lol- These guys are the *Army, not the NZSAS*
The sound dropouts on these are really annoying. Is it done on purpose, or someone screw up the sound?
It's so the videos don't get pulled for copyright infringement.
What the hell is that song in the start?
Dangit! Why’d the sound leave! Noooo
and in the best bits lol
They explained in another video it’s to avoid copyright by UA-cam
The gun is not 12 kg, empty its 7 kg and fully loaded with 200 rounds its 10 kg // former saw gunner
Still heavy compared to the rifles
You know its not a saw right?
It's not a Saw lol.
What those are just shell scrapes ! Should be stage 3 OHP
Platoons all named after Victoria Cross Earners
Cool a documentary on the nzsas
There is one. It's called: NZSAS - First Among Equals
It's on the infantry
What is with the audio dropping out on all these videos?????? Annoying az
Apparently its because of the copyright over some of the music in the series
Keith Elliot VC & Jack Hinton VC I was actually on the firing party at Jack Hinton VCs and Charles Upham VC & Bars Funerals 94 & 95
So different from USA. They get to have their own clothes, phones? Wow. Amazing
Easy to see the NZDF has hard out targeted recruiting Maoris when I came through it was 85% European Kiwis 🥝 but this has been done on purpose from the top brass
This is a Maori TV broadcast so the show is targeted towards Maori that's why they mainly interview them. It even says which Iwi they belong to when they're speaking
0:56 who TF carries their pack like that ? A waste of Rations that’s who
Question
No more Steyr rifle
Only MARS-L (it's a pre nifty rifle with no bark and hella punch)
I'm ready to join the girl scout.
What is with the crappy sound??/
Copy righted music playing in the background.
I’m so interested in smaller militaries and how they make up for the lack of man power with skill and discipline. I’m british and tbh the British army still seems more trained and disciplined but the New Zealand army is very well trained nonetheless
I’m a kiwi who served in the British Army. The training these kiwis received is almost exactly the same as the training I received in ITC Catterick in 2008. They even use the same acronyms and military language. These kiwis could fit into any standard British Army section after passing out, imo.
Saying that, in the BA we never shot a LAW in basic training..... lucky bastards
@@rooroo8767 AHAHAHH fair enough mate you’d know more than I do thanks for your service
@@liamhughes7715 yeah I was bloody surprised mate but the BA defo sees more action
Go get them girls im vet from iraq
This wrote up is wrong.. Says SAS. Which it isn't its Army Basic
It isn't wrong. These are civilians that applied for the SAS. They must complete basic training and the combat corps training, which is their next step after this (you hear, throughout, that they're all talking about Burnham, that's the corps training facility). Than they have further training, I think about 6 weeks, to prepare for the selection process.
This is due to the SAS opening up to civilians, I think this might be due to lack of numbers. The SAS try to maintain 1,000 as a whole, but are currently sitting at half that. This allows for civilians who would normally make it in if they were in the military, a chance to actually try out for it.
@@MCshadr217 The 2 infantry battalions combined cant even get near 1000, the SAS have far less then even 500
@@MCshadr217 You are wrong bud. They didnt apply for SAS. This shit is nowhere near SAS.
@@keniieighteen Nah bro that chick that faints has 100% already passed selection hahah
@@MCshadr217 Haha what?? 1 or 2 of these guys may have but not the entire basic. This is an all corps basic training, hence the large number of females.
If you can’t carry the weight don’t do the job simple
They seem to have a number of recruits that need washed out.
Keep in mind that not all of these recruits are here for Combat roles. this is the absolute most basic training. could almost be thought of as selection. Some of these recruits will be chefs, some march out straight into armed forces IT jobs. happened on my basic. Some dudes just didnt have what was required, and were offered jobs in Armed forces offices.
This is what it’s come to having a sook over a 5 km March 😂 to pass out of Infantry corps training we did 100km advance to contact within 24hrs sad
who asked
What happened NZ Military i did my basic training in 2004 when this type of training was taken more seriously this looks like a bunch of teenagers playing paintball !
Well I find it better for them to crack a joke every now and then to boost moral... and they they dont off themselves in Baracks due to the stress
13:00 barracks rat
Fuckin sound keeps fuckin out on all episodes.
poo
what
Looks like Maori TV
Is that a problem Zayne? You keep mentioning Māori and not in a pleasant light either.
Asian Girl She Cute Tho
See how women cry easy
See how these recruits, who are female, feel mentally and physically strained and are brought to tears over it. But keep pushing onwards. Good on them.
Well, don't recruit *women* lol
