TW: Tonsil Stones Discussion 46:18 to 1:26:40
Madi discusses her lifelong issues with tonsil stones in mild detail for a length of time. The topic really does last this long (so in case you're wondering when it ends, here you go). If you are eating, have a weak stomach, or are grossed out by discussion of tonsil stones, here you go.
P.S. Madi, We all love you and its okay

I really wish I read your comment before starting to watch. Generally I'm pretty god with gross stuff even while eating but this went on so long even I was about to throw up by the end. I love Madi's vids but this was...

If your mom is a nurse, you should see if she could get you a saline flush (which is the syringe without the needle). I fill one up with warm water and use it instead of getting a water flosser and it works well! You usually have to refill a few times, but it is so much cheaper! One trick I have found is pointing your head down when you spray the back of your mouth to avoid triggering your gag reflex.
Also, it's very normal to get tonsil stones often, it's just the shape of your mouth. Some people's tonsils are in "sockets" basically, and they can happen more often if your tonsils are more embedded in a socket, or if you have deep crypts.
Anyway, great stream Madi, hope you are doing well! 😂😂

Kate, I love the tonsil stone education! I tried gargling water before stream but it didn't help. 😔

Madi I had the same issue as you with tonsil stones. I had to go to my doctor and get a referral for tonsil removal and they removed my tonsils and adenoids. It can be genetic and has nothing to do with hygiene. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but you should get them removed it saved my life. ❤ I had mine taken out like 3 years ago when I was 17. The only thing is it is a worse recovery if you get the surgery as an adult. I couldn’t eat solid foods for a week, but still totally worth it.

Is it just me who had their tonsils removed? As a baby and toddler I used to get constant tonsillitis and mine got removed when I was 3, never had issues since and I'm nearly 22. I know that tonsils form part of your immune system but they seem to cause more issues than good.

Slow dancing isn’t a romantic interaction! Phillip is still loyal.

For your tonsil stone you should use a a little medicine syringe and hydrogen peroxide and water and flush the tonsil
Edit: my sister has scars in her tonsils from large tonsil stones and so her tonsils got layers of tonsil stones like full layers it was disgusting. She has a special mouthwash from her dentist that has helped

Sorry, I missed the stream earlier because of my niece's birthday.
To answer your question about earwax, as an Asian living in a tropical country, our earwaxes are usually dry and flaky 😅 As for the tonsil stone, it would help if you gargle with warm saltwater ❤

The earwax thing is so interesting. I wonder, in evolution, how wet earwax benefited more than dry earwax 😮

I have never heard of tonsil stones before. I googled it and I thought “how is that not a serious medical condition” Also it has a connotation that you are messy person who is not taking care of your mouth. Stigma alert.
