right person wrong time. she challenged him to be a better person but his status with peers made her think lower of herself but even whenever she made the wrong choices and he was mad at her he always rooted for her and was there for her if she truly needed him. i’m on team devi but i hope paxton stays in her life boyfriend or not.

I think Paxton truly cares for her. She has helped him grow so much and figure out how much more he can be. He protects her and challenges her. But I never got the feeling that Devi felt the same way about him. She always liked him because he was hot and popular, but I never see her feelings go passed that. It doesn't feel like Devi actually has any real connection to him, unlike Paxton. Their love story just feels very one-sided to me but idk. I do think they make really good friends though but I can't see them as much more.

@@applemoneroy7371 I kind of agree with you, It’s true that Devi has a lot to learn but I think that’s the beauty behind her character. She is a complex character who has been through a lot, so we can not expect her to act rationally and make “right” decisions, but she mature a lot this season compared to the second one. Paxton did nothing wrong on their relationship but you have to admit as well that he wasn’t perfect too. He made mistakes with Haley and the other girls and was ashamed of Devi on season 2. What I’m trying to say is that there’s no perfect character on this show, also I believe that Ben -despite his flaws- is more compatible with Devi, and they could push each other to become better

I know Devi will most likely end up with Ben, and it just sucks. I can't even understand how the writers could turn this direction? No matter how much Devi screwed Paxton, he always went back to her. He always checked on her, made sure she was okay. She ruined a lot of things for him and yet he went back after everything. If Ben got with Devi he would not risk anything at all. But Paxton risked his popularity and the image the whole high school had about him to be with her. They both helped the other to grow and become their matured adult version. "Why is it always the popular hot guy getting the girl?", "Oh but Ben had character development". Yes? Everything Devi went through, it was only Paxton helping her. Ben just stared, said horrible things to her and got with the first indian girl he saw just to get a revenge on her. Then he treated Aneesa like shit. While Paxton waited there, not dating anyone. I'm so mad. I was eventually part of team Ben in S1. But Paxton grew to be a better person that gets the best out of Devi. He's an angel, and although it seems like that, I hope this isn't over yet

Let me just say I’m TeamPaxton all the way. The only reason why Devi broke up with him was because of her insecurities. I feel like meeting Des boosted her confidence and self esteem. After their breakup Both Devi and Paxton grew into better versions of themselves. Why else would Paxton dedicate his graduation speech to Devi?! And the way they both looked at each other when he cradled her face in the game night episode still means they have feelings for each other. Team Ben followers don’t forget Ben agreed to a date with the artsy girl before hooking up with Devi. And Paxton broke his relationship up with the other girl in the end cause that’s personality wasn’t for him anymore. I am rooting for them to be endgame I have a feeling their feelings will resurface in season 4 when she goes to meet him in Arizona. #TeamPaxton all the way!!!!

Paxton turns out to be the perfect combination of sweet AND hot. So sad they didn't work out.
i keep remembering this scene with des and devi, when he called her beautiful and she said no one has ever said that to her before, even though paxton has, numerous times.

I think even though they break up this relationship is beautiful. They stay friends. And she help him to grow, change. "But you kinda get me through the death of my dad.(...) By being a dream" This words means that Devi just realised that she was chasing a dream. It was just a dream. She wasn't here and now which is most important. She was looking. She assumed that she would be happy when she became Paxton's girlfriend. And she wasn't. As she said, he just helped her after her dad died. And I think this is the perfect punch line. A beautiful lesson. Remember to always be here and now, don't chase anything. I was touched and I cried on this scene when she understood it. And this quote moves me. This is so important. I love tht they bring up this is in this show in this season. This ending this self growth at the end was the best the most beautiful brilliant ending of the show, season

Her face at the thumbnail. Her eyes are sad. She is just looking at him. Act like your face not only looks sad, but also has deep sadness and sad eyes is almost is unimaginable. How she acted this? Wow
IMO, Maitreyi is one of the best actresses, if not the best, of this generation. Her comic timing and expressions are amazing as heck. As you mentioned, in the thumbnail, she is looking at him with longingness; she has realized she'd been chasing a dream and has to let go of it now.

I would like to see Paxton I Devi together again, such an endgame. If she finishes with Ben, I will be seriously disappointed but maybe they will surprise us with the return of Daxton? The creators said somewhere that the final could knock us off our feet and most of the people are still in the Paxton team
Daxton is my endgame. Yea they had some rocky patches but I feel like in the end they really cared for each other and made each other better. Plus They had so much chemistry. Their relationship showed that the “unpopular” girl could have her dream guy and the romance. With Ben and Devi it just felt like friends no matter how much they tried in my opinion.
I love how paxton was always caring for her even when they weren’t together, he never made it awkward for them as ex’s❤

My predictions: Devi and Ben will be together for the first few episodes or the majority of season 4. They’ll break up and Devi and Paxton will get flirty again but ultimately won’t get back together since they’re all gonna be in college. But I can see a flash forward happen where they all meet at a reunion or something, reminisce on their past, Devi and Ben will speak fondly of their first love status, and then Devi and Paxton will talk and we won’t see them get together but it’ll be implied.
Ben is very much first love material. They’re equals and challenge each other. Paxton is changing for the better because of Devi, and Paxton is also the reason Devi went on a self love journey so he also changed her. They’re endgame.
Not to mention this little pattern:
Season 1 we got a Ben episode and it ended with Ben and Devi
Season 2 we got a Paxton episode and it ended with Paxton and Devi

TEAM PAXTON SINCE DAY ONE
i don't think they'll be endgame but i can only dream ;( i was definitely team ben during season one-- i mean academic rivals to lovers was just too good and i've never loved the popular jock and unpopular smart girl trope. but in seasons 2 and 3 i really just feel like paxton's character development went places that ben's couldn't even dream of. paxton literally changed SO much and devi is the core reason for most of his improvements. at first it really only felt like paxton was being pressured into doing these "right things" for devi by his sister but the transition of him being able to respect her, look up to her and care for her fully on his own was smooth and heartwarming. it's so clear how much he values her-- she helped him improve his academic life and get into college, he was able to redeem himself from all the girls he had played in the past because of how hard she pushed him, etc. and looking at ben's arc, yeah, there's development there, and maybe it's sweet to see how he's been in love with devi all this time. but it doesn't quite feel right looking at his arc as a whole. she broke his heart and he jumped to date aneesa just to get back at her and it was so obvious that he didn't really respect her not only with the fact that he was clearly still in love with devi, but the plotline where he didn't really respect her and consistently acted like a narcissistic ass was just unsatisfactory and didn't feel resolved well enough. the writers are clearly trying to lead up to this slow burn frenemies to lovers whatever arc with devi and ben but it just doesn't feel right. ESPECIALLY with how it seemed like they were hinting at a relationship with him and the girl in his art class near the end of the season. it's like they're pairing him with all these girls who aren't devi just to shove in our faces how he'll date people and still fawn over her from a distance. paxton is there. he broke up with devi because he knew that devi wasn't secure enough or ready in their relationship so he let her go for the best. she found self confidence and he broke up with his new girlfriend because after dating devi he realized that he still wanted all the things he had with her. i'm literally malding their arc is so perfect to end off with-- right people wrong time who let each other go and rekindle later on when the time is right it fits so well 😭 he even wrote his GRADUATION SPEECH ABOUT HER 😭 they were always trying to get each other to do their best and they were able to better each other and ben just doesn't have that. the whole "i don't want you to go because i'll miss you" scene with ben just really showed that imo. if you really care for her wouldn't you just let her go and take that amazing opportunity as her own decision? of all these seasons ben has NEVER been able to just move on from devi completely and i think that's what has held him back from having the development arc he really needed. paxton was able to do that when he focused on his studies and started over with devi as friends. devi was able to have her newfound self confidence when she was moved on from both ben and paxton and dated des (although i always wished she would just have some kind of self development without the need of a romantic interest) but ben has just spent the past 2 seasons split between overworking himself and crushing on devi. i thought the arc with him and his art class was going to help him develop into a better character but the very ending of the last episode just makes me feel like that's gonna go down the drain. also i still can't believe that devi spent so long worrying about sex with paxton and for him to reassure her that they didn't need to do anything, that just being with each other's company was enough-- for them to insinuate that devi and ben are going to do it at the very end 😭 (i have no one to rant to about this show if you couldn't tell)

In the beginning I was team Paxton cause Darren us hot. But as his character developed I fell for him as a character and the chemistry between then as characters is just a 10/10.
If only Devi was more confident and secure, Paxton is perfect for her. He pushes her to be better and so does she. And he supports her. Whereas Ben always attacks her first especially when she’s down. People say Ben helped her but he literally helped ONCE when she stayed at his house. But Paxton helped her every single time even if he was mad at her.
He clearly still liked her whether he actually knows it or not. He even cared about how she feels about him having a new gf.
I want them to be endgame but if we even get them as best friends next season that would also be good. I’d be mad but its better than absolutely nothing.
Don't worry. It's still possible that in the first ep of season 4, something/someone will interrupt Ben and Devi from doing it.

Ngl after watching season 3 I was like Ben just makes more sense I guess. But after rewatching and seeing these comments, bias aside Daxton just makes so much sense. I’m not impressed with Ben’s character development and I think the art girl is truly what he needs. He needs someone to be better than him at something to humble him which is what she did. It’s so annoying when people attack Paxton for his previous actions but never mention the things Ben had done like cheating on shira and mistreating the crap out of annesa. I truly feel like this series helped to clear out a lot of 'myth' concerning the typical high school romance of the unpopular girl dating the popular boy. Parkson and Devi are perfect but it is a case of wrong timing . I love what parkson said to Devi when they broke up, Devi needs to learn to love her self and accept her self and stop seeing her self as less than everyone else, she really can be greater than everyone in that school if she stop focusing on validation from others and validating her self, then their relationship will work. Also parkson is a work in progress so is Devi

Even though I'm currently on season 3 I feel the need to express my opinion. Even if the relatioship between Devi and Paxton didn't start out for the best reasons, they actually ended up doing good to eachother and grew together. Devi pushed Paxton to his limits and helped him overcome them, making him realize his worth. Paxton has helped Devi go through her father's grief without realizing. He always went back to Devi and rooted for her, no matter how hard she hurt him. He was always there to rescue her and take care of her. They complete each other in the cutest way possible.
Hope Ben comes to his senses and gets to know Margo. She cracked a cute smile when she got Ben to ask her out. As far as Devi standing on her own without a boyfriend or man, I mean that is great. But all of us, no matter if we are young or old, want to find that special person that will say "yes" when we ask "Will you still love me for the rest of my life"?!....................................

In season 3 all he did was think of Devi. When he was with the other girl he was more concerned for Devi. He wasn’t excited with that girl. He said he needed a girl that challenged him. Something that Devi did all the time. He desired that feeling Devi gave him. Giving away that the other girl couldn’t compete to Devi.
He also always found an excuse to talk about her with her friends. Oh and the way he constantly looked at her too. There was so much tenderness in his eyes when he looked at her.
And then when she was with Des he was jealous of him. And not to mention his speech it was for her and also how she changed him.
The whole year his mind was on Devi for the most part. He never stopped caring about her. He carried her in his heart the whole time. If that’s not love I don’t know what is. There was so many things about Paxton that showed he loved her.
I love Paxton and I love his growth, but I think he was just a learning experience for her... idk...they care about each other, but I think Paxton always liked her more and he was just a "dream" to her, like she said. Not sure how this will end, but they both deserve to be happy.

This is an unpopular opinion, and I've been holding it in for so long, but I just need to say it now. I feel like the ending of S3 was very disrespectful towards Ben and Paxton's characters. But especially towards Paxton. I mean, they literally spent all of s2 giving Paxton character development and growth, and establishing him as someone who is not just Devi and other people's fantasy, but a well-rounded human being in his own right, with his own dreams, thoughts, feelings and ambitions. In the beginning of s3 as well, I was so impressed with Paxton for breaking up with Devi when her jealousy got too much for him to handle, because it showed us that he is a person who is actually affected by another human's moods and actions and takes a stand for himself and not just a character created only for pushing Devi's story forward in the show (too many times, in teen shows, it would have been ignored and he would have forgiven her right away and they would have broken up for some other petty reason later on) . So, they did all of that, ONLY for Devi to call him "a dream" in the last episode (unpopular opinion again, but I hate that line very much) meaning at the end of the day, he was still meant to be seen as just a fantasy, there to progress Devi's plot and nothing else; again. It's so disrespectful! And the same thing with Ben. S3 spends almost the entirety of it giving Ben's character growth and closure, making him go from competitive, condescending douche bag (who btw, was also treating his relationship with Devi as some kind of competition that he had to win against Paxton) to an easy-going individual , learning to process his feelings and enjoy his school life and chill out a bit. Which is why it was so cathartic when Ben was finally able to move on from Devi in s3, and the show spent so much time showing us why those 2 are good as friends only, with Ben even asking out that cute girl from his art class (who is so much better of a match for him than Devi); ONLY to ruin that as well with the final moment of the third season. Putting all the characters back in exactly the same dynamic they were in, in the ending of s1. Why?? I just don't get it. Why would you spend ALL this time on growth and development, only to regress them back all over again??? Utterly pointless. And very disrespectful to the characters honestly.
Good thing the ending is upto my imagination, in my imagination it will ALWAYS be PAXTON HALL YOSHIDA. It was not perfect but there surely was love there. In my imagination Devi has enough self love to be with Paxton.

Tbh that ending of S3 made me really sad somehow. I mean she always had a crush on him but she somehow seems to only love her imagination of him and didn't see the real him. And that's so sad cause he is such a great guy. She was too immature and insecure for him in S3 but I hope they are endgame. She challenged and changed him in s1+2 and it would be great seeing her grow in s4. If she starts to see his real self, let herfelf fall for that and finally fights for him forreal (and not only to have Sex lol), I think that would be a proper ending. 2 great people who could complement and challenge each other. Right now it's definitely right person wrong time. I like Ben and Ben and her together as well but somehow I have a soft-sport for dexton. For me opposites do atrract and are more exciting to see - the show "started" with them and for me it should end with them as well.
