The one constant with guilty gear is banger soundtracks but they were on something different in the 2000’s XX and iskua shouldn’t go as hard as they do
Isuka kind of feels like what happens when you cross Real Bout Fatal Fury/RBFF Special, with GGX, and the single player casual experience... really weird honestly
Yeah you don’t realize those days are gone until they are. It’s nice to hear someone had a good experience with Isuka. Everyone is too harsh on this one, it’s a lot of fun once you get those controls down
The game deserved more it was so stupid it was fun we all thought before what if fighters had four person with turn around combat it could have been enhanced instead of left behind
Near the end of editing this video I actually started to really enjoy the game. It’s definitely fun once you get the hang of things and it has a lot of potential. I don’t understand why modern fighting game devs don’t try to add extra modes outside of fighting just for fun, it’s always the same boring arcade and survival modes,
I bought Isuka when it came out and my friends and I loved it. The soundtrack was sweet and you have to remember, a lot of companies were doing the 4 player battle royale thing thanks to Smash Bros success of Gamecube. I prefer other GGs, but this one still is fun with friends.
@@Drzuuloh make a video about that one. I played the heck out of that one too. If I remembered right 🤔 the boss had rainbow balls (weak points) you had to hit. It was like a giant fallen angel or something 🤷🏾♀️ it was smash guilty gear
7:45, A.B.A., both Robo-Kys, their home stages and GG Boost mode aren't in the arcade version, but that's fine with me. An unlicensed Dreamcast port exists and doesn't have these features, as it's a direct port of the arcade game.
@@Drzuul Yes; it appears someone reprogrammed the arcade version to run on the Dreamcast, as the Atomiswave and the Dreamcast have near-identical hardware specs.
I’ve heard about atomiswave working well on Dreamcast. I plan to do another episode on guilty gear so I’ll research this and add it to that as a bonus thanks for bringing it to my attention
If you like Isuka give judgment a try I think it’s a good sequel to Isuka and a lot of fun if not a bit simpler. The best thing I can say about dust strikers is its gameplay is more enjoyable than drakengard.
@@Drzuul I would play judgment but I don't have a psp and lack drive to get one, I don't have a pc either for emulation so I play these guys on their respective hardware
If it weren't for this game's soundtrack and the reutilized character sprites from GGX-GGX2, this game would have been forgotten or laid down as a hidden gem by many enthusiasts and hardcore fans. A.B.A having her debut in this game can come off as an oddity, considering her moveset was not entirely fleshed out with the control scheme that Isuka offers, later on she would end up being playable in Λ Core and the game gave her a more traditional style of combat. Also yes, I Wanna Be The Guy introduced me to this game and the franchise as a whole. 5:57 It might come as a shock but there is an arcade beat 'em up made by Irem called Undercover Cops that does exactly this setup of an elevator stage as the second level.
If this game didn’t have those unique elements it’d be guilty gear dust strikers. Surprisingly they iterated on this game with the psp exclusive guilty gear judgement and I found that game to be a lot more fun. Never knew about that other beat em up but the decision to make the elevator stage the second level is still just wrong on many levels
I agree. Everyone is obsessed with cinematic story modes but more fighters should try to do more interesting things with their gameplay so if you don’t want to play online you have other options.
@Drzuul I think the cinematic storyline would have been better if the animation team was given more than 5 dollars. But it's going to be hard to convince anyone to just watch a 4 hour movie with no game play. Old fighting game stories had to be told through arcade modes, so you had more of a reason to experience it.
I definitely think it needs a modern port like +r. The resolution is my biggest gripe with the current version. When recording it was easier to record the game in windowed mode and play through the obs screen
I think Naruto Clash of ninja had a good idea by having the button change your target rather than change your direction. That way you still face the opponent you want to fight instead of jumping past them and having to manually turn around.
😂 I can tell you didn't get to the boss in arcade mode. If you did .. you would've talked about that bs bro 🤣 hardest boss in the series. Only the small puppy can take damage. Guilty Gear Isuka's legacy is "Might is Right But Tight".
You might know it better as the game over music in "I Wanna Be The Guy".
I only know this game because one of songs was used in I Wanna Be The Guy
Now that’s a game I haven’t thought about in 15 years
Honestly, wouldn't call it the worst, has lots of good ideas, held back by the controls, manual turn execution, port
