I think The Last of Us 3 will come out in 2028 at the end of the Playstations 5's / PS5's life cycle! I am not saying Tlou3 is confirmed! We shall never know if it's on Ps5 or Ps6 or if it tlou3 happens at all you get me? Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog, they the main players I guess, well offcourse Sony and Playstation yeah. We probably will have a the last of us 3 trailer at a PSX event in 2025ish and the last of us part 3 will probably come out around 2028 if it where to happen, but you never know. I can picture the fireflies going to Europe or ateast the goal being traveling to Europe with Ellie,Abby,Lev and Possibly Dina and Tommy. allthough I would expect Dina to want to stay with J.J at Jackson Wyoming. I imagine a big almost open world game with hordes. Maybe Abby with a chainsaw, Ellie on a Helicopter with a minigun. NPC Enemies too and hopefully a new Boss battle Infected type bigger than the Rat King which we got in the last of us part II, so yeah basically tlou 3 if it happens I picture it being bigger and better. Man, a Tommy DLC would be kinda cool. You could have flashbacks of him and Joel during their survival times while he copes with Joel's death in the present. Plus the dynamic between him and his wife. Lots of potential for story there.

Tommy as the main character would be lit
I actually started crying when I saw the whole documentary. After making a video game myself and then seeing the amount of scale, stress, and harship the team went through is really impactful. The teaser for the idea of a 3rd game makes me so happy, I was so worried we wouldn't have a trilogy and the sparks of one being confirmed is all I needed. Hope they take their time and keep making the games they want to make and not what the internet says they should.

Maybe part 3 is about Tommy and Joel's past as raiders coming back to haunt Tommy and we get flashback story lines as to why. In these flashbacks we get to play Joel and the antagonist in the present is someone like Abby but we only play as Tommy and this antagonist person has a mysterious identity with a plot twist that it's not actually their "victim" but someone they used to run with that either Tommy or Joel betrayed.
I just wonder how that would work in gameplay because Tommy can barely walk now.

After watching this documentary, I genuinely felt bad for all the hate Naughty Dog received, especially Neil and Laura. While we may not all love what happened in the story, there’s no doubt how proud they were of what they created. And that deserves respect

I love the story of forgiveness. A lot of people just didn't understand what this game was about.

@@Alien_isolationist Except they did actually specifically deceive fans -- they did it with the first game too. Only difference was that a massively beloved character didn't die in the first game so the backlash wasn't as severe.
They way they made use of the hospital event in part 1 to center the sequel's story around it, I think theyll make use of ellie's line of dialogue in part 2, "my life wouldve mattered" for part 3's story, sacrifice oneself for a better purpose.
A Part 3 that would potentially be the final game just makes sense. And with the ending of part 2 i was left with more questions then answers
It would most likely not mainly focus on Ellie, as much as we'd like that. Would love for more on Tommy! I'd also like to see how Abby and Lev are doing now that they are now apart of a community in Catalina Island. Because honestly i love those characters and want nothing for the best for them aswell as Ellie & Tommy.
New survivers that somehow connects with the story would be cool aswell, maybe ellie not being the only immune person somehow? who knows I'm just excited for a third game that could actually conclude the story in the best way possible.
And that this time around since first game was about love, second was about hate/revenge and that the third one would be about redemption/hope.

It would definitely follow Ellie, TLOU series is Ellie's story and how her story is impacted by other people of whom we only get snippets into their lives because they are not the protagonists.

Ellie seems to have dealt with her ptsd now I think Ellie is headed out on her own to try to find some sort of redemption. My guess for part 3 is that Naughty Dog will not do fan service, and that whatever happens will require agonizing moral choices from Ellie.
I'd love to see a prequel to last of us. Like the first few months after the outbreak and basically the story would be about Joel and Tommy just trying to survive in this newly devastated world. Joel still heartbroken about Sara's death and teaching Tommy how to survive for him to become the badass he is in TLOU II. Could also be the rise of the fireflies as well, first time discovering bloaters and clickers etc ... could be cool !

Yeah I definitely thought they would have a story of brotherhood with Tommy and Joel in the 20 years between the death of Sarah and the start of TLOU. They mentioned his ties with Marlene and the fireflies and the stuff they did together to get by too many times for it not to be a thing, and they will probably have Ellie's mother during that time while also tieing in with Ellie's search for the Fireflies post TLOU 2.
It will be the best way to flesh out Tommy, give the fans more Joel, and give us an insight into that time period in between.

I hope there is a trailer where it implies Ellie is alive, then kill her at the beginning of the game and we play as her killers, would make a great game. Symbolising the death of the franchise, so poetic.
They could do like a story of Tommy's past leading up to the present and having flashbacks of the past several years or so, and or maybe Ellie could possibly and finally meet someone else that's immune or something, nonetheless I'm stoked, can't wait man.

Just got done playing TLOU2 for the first time and I have never had so many mixed emotions about 2 very different characters before. I’ll still favor Ellie over Abby any day but they were both great characters that made me understand both points of view in a similar way.
No story should come out first as a show before any dlc or game ! Respect the players that made posible for a show to be made!!
Elle goes on, but word gets out that she IS immune. Abby hears that people are going after Elle, so Abby sets forth to help find Elle to help her, least let her know. Meanwhile Tommy is doing his own thing planning and preparing revenge for his brother Joel.
You can have it.
It can end even more gruesome then both, where Tommy comes in at the end out of nowhere and kills Abby in front of Elle, then Tommy kills Elle too for coming into Joel’s life and not letting him move on from his own daughters demise.
Tommy lives happily ever after.

The second centred on revenge and most of the new additional characters they brought in you didn't really care about, because they hardly spent anytime building up both their characters and stories.

And a whole bunch of other fireflies hate his guts for what he did. Whether you like abby and / or part 2 or not, she has pretty valid reasons for killing Joel you’re just mad you can’t make your own story the exact way you want to

I know that they have their new fantasy IP in the works for their next game. Maybe we will sees teases of 3 after the new IP launches. Right now though Im more excited to what new thing they have next. Will it be serious tonally or more light hearted like their eariler work?

Tommy goin on his own hunt for abbey would be nuts. Starts off after he leaves Ellie and Deana’s house. Says his farewell to Jackson. Have him slow and hurt with similar arsenal and have that weight. Maybe as he revisits moments that’s familiar to him people/encounters etc they could do flashbacks of him and Joel during the first 20 years. Maybe end with Tommy coming to the same conclusion Ellie did. Maybe end with them finding eachother at their lowest. With the game reminding us. Not about what you’ve lost. But what you have and will have
I hope the 3rd one brings Ellie into some full circle story, similar to how her and Jeol were but with Her being more in a Joel position.

The only way to go and the best way to go is prequel. You could basically replay the opening of Part 2. After Joel’s daughter dies you just stick with him. Play for a while until he and Tommy get situated and have a plan. Execute their plan to leave the area or do whatever they decided. After that you fast forward about a year or two and that’s where the game starts. We’d get to play the period of time directly after the outbreak. See all the grimy stuff he and Tommy were into. I think that would be awesome. In part one they skipped ahead 20 years I think. There’s gotta be a great story in those 20 years.

I got swindled into thinking factions part two would come with last of us 2 later in the future deliver what u got and update it make it free to play since I already paid for last of us part 2 trust me I'll buy gear and micro transactions I just wanna new factions man.
Its going to be about Ellie & Abby working together and taking down the fireflies with Lev being immune to infection like Ellie where Abby will face a choice of sacrificing Lev or Saving him. Tommy will be a wildcard as he is an ex Firefly and will try to get revenge on Abby only for him to be stopped by Maria, but at least a dlc story about him.
something that i'm really excited about when it comes to tlou3 is seeing the fireflies regain their strength. before abby and lev were caught by the rattlers, the radio guy said they were about 300 members strong. they never elaborated more on the fireflies, so who knows how many people have joined during the farm time skip?
we could get a really good plot if they decide to bring back the fireflies. maybe they're working on a vaccine again with *possibly* another immune person? jj by any chance?
maybe they're trying to take seattle back from the wlf. fireflies vs scars? what if abby became a doctor just like her dad and is looking for a cure, or if ellie joins the fireflies too? maybe the two of them meet at some point in the game?
the fireflies are the reason the game started in the first place, so it would only make sense that they're the reason the game ends too.

i think a Last of Us Between those 30 years would be great. To see Joel Struggling with the Death of Sarah after one Day for example and how he starts to understand the whole Situation the whole New World ran over by the Infected.
They could make it about Ellie encountering other people like her, people who are immune and a cure is made.
Going against the whole point of the first game...
A part 3 to tie it all in would be awesome with some dlc of how Joel and Tommy survived
i think ultimately ellie should go on a quest/adventure to find someone that can potentially make the cure somewhere put there is someone that can do it. morally it would be the right thing to do. maybe have 2 different groups fighting over the cure itself which is ellie

I don’t know about anybody else, but I actually wish we got a dlc in TLOU Part 2 where we play as Tommy during his time in Seattle. We know he arrived in Seattle before Ellie & Dina did, and found the WLF first where he tortured and killed Nick from Abby’s group in the hotel. This dlc would fill in some blanks as to where his mind is at during his quest for justice & revenge. It would have been a good story to tell from his point of view.
You see that would actually be giving the fans what they want, and that’s just not what Naughty Dog does. A Tommy DLC is and always was a pipe dream.

Guys as the man said its the fine ending Ellie took the revenge and now living what else there should be in the story in the name of part 2 of TLOU 2 they killed joel so that there should be some story which we have to admit that we aren't happy about Joel's died.
