It looked contrasty with crushed black, but I don't know if that is youtube. Good review! It's about time the budget cam makers nailed the mic quality, it can't be that hard. The first one to do that will have a winner!
Part of that was my fault for having the EV set too dark in the forest scene. But yes it is pretty high contrast video overall, I am currently writing feedback to campark and I've suggested they tone it down a little. I'm interested in how customizable the firmware will be, as this camera is clearly capable and there is a fairly strong hacking community (GoPrawn). Alternate firmware might be possible! Ironically some of the best mic quality comes from cameras that have poor video. Like some of the sunplus cams. Stay tuned for the Vantop Moment 6S review in the next few days. It's on the better side of video AND mic quality although more like $179 price wise. :)
Turns out having WDR on does help with the crushed blacks somewhat. I must have shot part of my video with it on and part with it off without realizing... Whoops!
One more thing I just noticed... playing back video in Films & TV on Windows seems to apply its own HDR effect. Basically removing the crushed blacks! Playing it back in MPC-HC or other media player software looks very different. Check out the comparison: www.goprawn.com//forum/hisilicon-cams/15001-hi3559-v200-imx458-action-camera?p=16417#post16417
Got the V30 from Amazon for $47. Lightning deal + 20% coupon + $25 credit card add. Will be $55 after sales tax and shipping fee. Not bad. Will see how it compares to the DBPower N6 using a twin camera chest mount, my current $30 camera. Thanks for the review.
Nice review. Bought one off ebay yesterday for £49, which I think is around $64. Also bought an AKASO v50x external microphone for £10, which I'm hoping will work with the Campark V30.
Great review. Wish I had seen your x15 review before purchasing. I’m sending it back and getting the v30. One question, which is the best App to use? Mostly negative comments on all action camera Apps. I couldn’t get the App to work for the x15. Thanks!
Nice video. I want to get an action camera for my motorcycle helmet. Was thinking Gopro, but at $499.99 a pop this Campark V30 may be better starting off. Does the camera allow for an external mic? I am also gonna want to attach it to an external battery pack that I will keep on the inside pocket of my riding jacket.
After almost a year (Aug 2020 to Aug 2021), my Campark V30 doesn't maintain the date and time anymore when I change batteries. Any ideas how to fix that?
Ugh why don't more cameras offer 4:3 shooting? It's the only way to take advantage of the full sensor and even my old cheap Yi Lite has it. Other than that, looks like a great camera
Often if a seller sends me a camera to test and I like it I will ask them for a coupon. They don't always provide one but i think it's good when they do, I can give a bit back to my viewers that way :)
@@12thRoundBoxing here's how I started: I actually get a lot of people reaching out because of Amazon. While you should not review free samples on Amazon as it is against the terms of service, you can review everything you actually buy on there and fill out a reviewer profile then eventually people start reaching out to you. Make an email specifically for reviewing as you'll get a lot of spam. Most of it will be offers to review on Amazon despite it against the ToS however the more honest sellers may agree to do yt instead. At one point I was in the top 50 on Amazon, just because I reviewed so much. But I kinda slowed down since moving to NZ, I don't buy much any more on Amz, still I get offers for all sorts of interesting things. And a lot of junk I won't want to touch with a 100 ft pole. If you can't afford to buy things make videos with the things you have. Reaching out to sellers will become easier and more fruitful once you're established but it does not work so much if you initiate contact as a new yter. So for me, if a seller reaches out to me and I want to do a review of their product, maybe it will actually only happen 25% of the time. If I reach out to a seller cold it will probably only work 5% of the time. Just an example. Work with what you can and work for what you want and you'll get there eventually 👍

Hi buddy, I would like to know what the driving mode is. I can use the loop mode even with the normal video so I don’t understand how I can use driving mode
Just from your initial use, would you personally take this or the v50x, they are same.price.on Amazon UK, I have the v50x on order but still have time to change my mind - any thoughts?
There is upsides and downsides to both. The v50 x I think the video colour processing is a little bit better as there is a bit more detail in shadow areas. However the audio quality is better on the Campark v30. So I guess it depends, which do you think is more important for your action cam experience? Either way you are getting a decent camera so there is no need to panic and second guess. I will have to put them side by side before coming to a more definitive conclusion, these are just initial thoughts. Also note my V50 x is kind of smashed, so I am trying to replace the lens before doing the comparison.
@@DrekiTech thanks for the reply, not overly fussed by the audio - can just get the external mic down the line if need be (and will likely be using either of them in waterproof case for diving for motorbiking, so no Biggie). @@andym5538 The Campark V30 and Akaso V50 X does only 4K30. The V50 Elite does do a sort of rudimentary 4K 60 using an MJPG codec. It looks ok but a lot of enthusiasts consider MJPG to be cheating because the results are a lot more poor in terms of detail than using an H264 video codec. So on one hand yes it kinda does, on the other hand the resolution is just not there compared to true 4K60 using H264/H265 ("real" 4K60)

I used your Amazon link and bought the V30, but after putting it through its paces, I've run into an issue. Settings I change revert back on their own if I change any other settings or turn off the camera and turn it back on. Is anyone else having this issue? I first noticed it with Angle - I'd switch it to 70 degrees and it would revert to 170. I'd ask Campark tech support, but they're all off until the 10th.
Hey, I know some settings do not work at the same time (ie: lens distortion correction does not work with EIS). These were the only two I personally saw switching themselves around. I did not test specifically if the wide angle setting held through power cycle, from recollection it did hold but the FOV setting might also interfere with the EIS setting. Unfortunately I don't have the camera with me any more to help further, sorry.
