The apothecary was wearing gravis armor which they can't do now. And the last thing I could pick out is that the things that you kept calling Zoanthropes aren't actually Zoanthropes, they seem to be a new model entirely. other than that you already saw the new terminator sculpts but the Termigaunts and probably the Hormagaunts also got new sculpts.
They didn't entirely vanish. For several editions, they were just a carnifex variant you could theoretically build by giving them the right head and weapons from the model kit. Cool that they are really back now, though.
Its good that the Lion is back. Guilliman has his hands fully having to balance between leading humanity out of extinction and having to put up with the ministorum. The imperium needs an additional primarch who can lead from the front on the battlefield. Cadia would not have fallen if the Lion was on the planet.

The Tyranid with the big claws that is killed by the Dreadnought is a modern version of a very early form of the Carnifex known as a Screamer Killer. It was the very first Carnifex model from back in the 1990s. It had the four very large claws and the distended maw that have become iconic signifies of the genus in the later codex books. Its rules included the first references (with regard to the Tyranids) to a bioplasma attack, and it was considered one of the classic early Tyranid miniatures even though its proportions were a bit odd even for the time. Older Tyranid players like yours truly can't help but have a soft spot for the good old Screamer Killer, so it is great to see it make a return in a newer incarnation.

OC is allegedly "Objective Control" - a score that you add up for each mini on an objective vs the same for your opponent's to determine who owns it. This prevents silliness like "This Knight controls it for reasons despite being outnumbered 4 to 1 by enemy troops just because." The idea is it gets rid of a lot of rule keywords and abilities that confused things, too - but you need to do a tiny bit of math now.
Huh, this actually seems like a very fair way to do it. Granted I haven't played against you yet, but it could be interesting to see how that works out (and who gets a zero in that section as well 🤔).
GW is indeed planning to sell datasheet cards on Day 1. So you can literally pull out the handful you need for reference and set them off to the side until needed.

They're eating so I assume them to be lol Now the 1st of 2 big things: 7:41 - Tyrannid players are up in arms over whether that is a Flying Hive Tyrant or a different model, some are assuming it is the discontinued Shrike, basically a Warrior with wings. I actually side with the "Not a Hive Tyrant" unless it is an older version I don't know about, it doesn't have the massive armor segment around its face, only one column of vents instead of 2, 2 arms not 4, etc. Second thing, 17:55 - You basically figured it out, Hive Fleet Leviathan was believed to be defeated on the planet Baal, the narrator even states that those are lies from the preachers. Hive Fleet Leviathan is all about adaptation on a scale most Tyranids can't keep up with, mechanically you can't hurt their units on certain dice rolls because of the pure speed at which they adapt with, they are the perfect organism essentially. So while others are quicker, meatier, can dig around, have enhanced bullets, spray toxins everywhere, those ones can die and you don't need to work too hard to find out how to kill them. A Hive Tendril Leviathan creature eats a bullet and the surrounding hundred gain better armor, you get faster than it can swing at you and it gains enhanced muscular traits or more adrenaline, you build bombs they will find ways to resist them, it is frightening XD Anyways I hope this helps a bit lol, I love geeking about the dinosaurs. If I am wrong about any of this that anyone knows of please correct me I love to know more and actually be correct, spewing incorrect stuff sucks there is just so much in all sorts of places lol, you could find Tyranid lore in other random codex's and stuff.

GW did this back in 8th. They gave away the rules* and indexes for all the armies for free. Then every new codex quickly overpowered all the armies still stuck on index only. *not really the full basic rules, just about 1/3 of them and not quite enough to play the game with
I was thinking this same thing. "Core Rules" were free for 8th or 9th. Purchasing multiple "Indexes" still added up $$$ if you played the 'wrong' multiple armies. We can still be hopeful.

It should also be said that there is a rumor going around about an Apex Swarmlord or some kind of new super Tyrant. As for Tyrants the are 3-4 times larger than a Marine. It would have been sick to see one in the cinematic.
The elder are the newer aeldari ranger kit (came with several new aeldari (elder's new tm name) releases this edition) and there is now a full world eaters army including khorne cultists (rather recent release). Also the OC stat is objective control, rather than having objective secured for troops in 10th (so 2 surviving orcs wont score an objective over the full terminator squad any more) all models now have OC. Basically to determine who captures objective do models * OC to determine who scores the objective. Also army rules on single page rumour has it universal special rules are coming back.

Reivers aren't the only Space Marines to use Phobos armour; other Vanguard units do so as well. Add to that the fact that the unhelmeted Marine's faceplate was standard Primaris and not skull-shaped, and I doubt that was supposed to technically be a Reiver.

The grimdark , I understand that's going to appeal to a very narrow audience. Logically this means as a business you'd need to maximize ever angle to make a buck on this tiny group of fans to stay profitable. This may seem greedy if you compare it to another IP but the difference being most others have "good guys" and aren't flaying each other alive. Basically, 40K would have to dumb down the horror, watery weak stories to appeal to a broader basic audience to lower prices. Just a guess.
Just to be sure *free index , the new edition will bring new index rules for all but once codexes release, then back to the old one, since that will overrule index rules, but definitely agree, once you'll start on the new edition, you can definitely try lot of new armies if you wish, specially since they also tried to balance the combat patrol boxes against each other.

Its not hard to make amazing animation, whats hard is to make amazing animation for longer than 2-5 minutes. It probably takes as much time/money to make one of these trailers then it does to make 3-5 episodes of hammer and bolter. People always get mad their faction isnt being displayed, its kinda crazy to committ so much to just a few minutes of 1-2 factions when you can have 10 projects featuring 10 factions. Personally I love the variety in 40k. With straight up hundreds of space marine chapters, and dozens of factions with 6+ subfactions each, it just makes more sense to go for the shotgun approach. Sure things like astartes are great, but remember it took that man straight up years to make 15 minutes of animation of a simple 1 squad boarding action.
I have a hypothesis that Emp removed the emotion of despair from the Primachs and to a lesser extent the Space Marines. The monologue in the vid is not how a normal general thinks in constant war
I disagree-Big G prefaces all his comments on how great the war is going with “the preachers say” and he has a VERY dim view of the modern Imperium’s state religion. I interpreted his monologue as him bemoaning that his duty demands he must officially support the optimistic lie the preachers are peddling while he knows it to be a lie, all so the Imperium doesn’t fall apart in *total* despair. He’s acknowledging his role both as a pragmatic general who knows shit has hit the fan and is privately calculating the horrific death toll he’s overseeing AND as a demigod-hero propaganda spokesman who must lie to mothers’ faces that their children’s lives meant something for the next Guard regiment recruitment drive. This is feels like part of a more private (possibly even internal) conversation, neither a candid war room assessment nor a public propaganda speech. And filled with all the bitter sarcasm Guilleman can muster.

You know, several editions ago, the idea of a primarch coming back (or anything changing really) dragged me back into this fandom when I had completely lost interest. But now, with all of my favorite fan projects dead, at least two directly because of GW, I just cannot muster more than a meh over any of this. Also, ultramarines and tyranids are really boring at this point, and that was all this trailer showed. Hopefully, the leagues get something cool out of this, at least. They are the only thing I am interested in at this point.

You know, several editions ago, the idea of a primarch coming back (or anything changing really) dragged me back into this fandom when I had completely lost interest. But now, with all of my favorite fan projects dead, at least two directly because of GW, I just cannot muster more than a meh over any of this.
Also, ultramarines and tyranids are really boring at this point, and that was all this trailer showed. Hopefully, the leagues get something cool out of this, at least. They are the only thing I am interested in at this point.
you realize those fan animators were hired? at least the ones that werent harassed into quitting by the rabid fandom who hated them for wanting to be paid to make canonical content.
