The MCU, _Star Wars,_ _Indiana Jones,_ _Hunger Games,_ and _Mission: Impossible_ are great enough as they are. Another I might add is _The Karate Kid,_ a franchise whose 2010 reboot was only rectified through the ongoing _Cobra Kai_ TV series. So call me out all you want on my inclusion of 2010's _Karate Kid_ on my list, but I rest my case.
"Harry Potter" is sacred, and a fond childhood franchise for many of us. Fingers crossed that it NEVER gets remade, since the original cast are perfect as is!
How would you feel about an animated reboot television series using the same music from the movies. It would have 7 seasons (one for each book) and each episode would be for a single chapter from the books.
I love Back to the Future! I remember trying to get my little sister to watch the series for a long time. After pestering her, she gave in and said: “Ok fine, let’s see what the hype is about.” So I put in the DVD and we watched it together. After watching the first movie, she turned to me and excitedly asked: “Jaco, can you please put in the second movie?!”
BACK TO THE FUTURE, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, HARRY POTTER and INDIANA JONES are perfect. They don't need a reebot to be remembered or shine again.
I always consider Peter Jackson's MIDDLE-EARTH Saga (The Lord Of The Rings/The Hobbit) as my most favorite film trilogy that should never get rebooted.
The Lord of the Ring franchise should be left alone! The movies were classics and you just can’t get better actors for the parts. My favorite movie series of all time!
I grew up in middle school with the LOTR movie releases. They DEFINED those years cinematically for me! NO ONE better even THINK of touching those movies until I'm dead!
I feel like why so many people hold Marvel in such a higher pedestal than DC is mainly because of Warner Bros's neverending meddling of their overall projects. One of the major reasons is because Marvel TRIES to resolve SOME of their overlooked cliffhangers or unanswered questions while so many DC projects have plots that still have unresolved plots either because of Warner Bros or because the writers haven't thought that far to resolve. This is part of the reason why I loved Crisis on Infinite Earths. No, it's not the best DC crossover ever outside of the comics. I barely read comic books anyway. Crisis on Earth X is still the best in DCTV. But it's one of the few times in recent memory that multiple DC projects, especially some of which used to be completely separate, build up higher stakes in a climatic storyline (and before Justice League Dark Apokolips War) and they finally pay it off! And they gave an honorable death not only to the man who started this entire franchise but also to another character we never thought we'd see again, because another actor is playing that character and because his own show was cancelled almost two decades prior which is The Flash! Even Warner Bros, who continuously eff up DC projects, did something right for once and allowed a cameo for the other Barry! Screw the actor, they should've never casted him, but you can't deny how awesome that moment was! Yeah, even when they do something right, it's at the expense of other people. But what matters, is that the crossover paid off a major storyline for better or worse.
Hollywood would better take a note and watch this list. If ever they tend to reboot franchises being listed there, they're gonna be making a huge mistake.
NONE OF THESE PROPERTIES SHOULD EVER GET THE REBOOT TREATMENT #7 I want to see this type of cop story back. Just not Dirty Harry. that characters time has come and gone
I'd kind think Karate Kid could be on this list. Who could replace Daniel, Johnny, and MR MIYAGI? Spin off yes (we all love Cobra Kai), btu reboot? Nay!
Note to Hollywood: look at this list and stay away from these films! You would do better remaking the Transformers franchise than you would Lord of the Rings!
I WANT A DIRECT SEQUEL TO THE ORIGINAL "BACK TO THE FUTURE" FILM TRILOGY NEXT YEAR ON DISNEY+ OR HULU... BY THE WAY, YOU TOTALLY FORGOT "EVIL DEAD" FRANCHISE BECAUSE IT HAS A TV SEQUEL CALLED "ASH VS. EVIL DEAD" & "TERMINATOR" FRANCHISE BECAUSE LINDA HAMILTON & ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER ARE BACK, GROOVY! 😎😎😎
As a film franchise, I don't think Harry Potter should be rebooted. But as a TV series, I would love a Harry Potter reboot. Just because of how much was missed from the books
Maybe not about the books but a series in the Harry Potter universe would be nice. So much to tell! The Marauders, the story of Hogwarts, Hogwarts after the second Wizard War
I believe they could have rebooted Indiana Jones, in a way, if they had done it years back. Grab Brendan Fraser, from the Mummy era make him Indiana Jones’ son (instead of that tool Shia LeBouf) and do a few of the movies with him and Ford together. Then they could’ve spun Fraser off by himself.
I agree John Wick should never get rebooted in any way Keanu Reeves already did an amazing job but then again I wouldn't be surprised if it did get rebooted since that is what everyone thinks should happen to old movies
Unfortunately, there is now a Harry Potter Reboot TV Series it seems. I'll 'Always' stay strong with the original no matter what! I do agree it would be cool to see more from the books that weren't shown, but the movies were already made and a huge success. No matter what happens with the reboot, the original will remain classics!
I feel pretty torn when it comes down to the Harry Potter movies to be honest. On the one hand I agree with everyone that they are such classic movies that should never be touched. But on the other especially with the later Harry Potter films that weren't always the best I feel like it deserves a reboot. I understand that movies can't fit everything that a book holds but I have always been extra curious to see what it would actually be like if the series was made into a TV series instead. Imagine each episode filling in the missing pieces that the books had that the original Harry Potter movies didn't have. That would be amazing! EEP! :)
They will be all rebooted 40 years from now !! there will VIRTUAL REALITY MOVIES ...which is obvious its movies types fit for VR ....like your are inside a movie ! unless they use AI and algorythm of our whole movie library and mathematecaly make them whole to virtual
While Snape and a few other professors might be impossible to replace, the injustice they did to the books, especially the 3rd book, they should reboot harry potter. I think a tv show like they are doing with Percy Jackson would be a great idea as well.
Here's my own movie franchises that never should have a reboot. War Dragons franchise (2003-2016) Rabbit franchise (2007-2020) Future Heroes Universe (2010-) The Quest of legends franchise (2006-2013) Marvolous Beasts franchise (2017-) Shocky Dog film franchise (1981-2020) Tiger man franchise (2007-2022) I Serpent franchise (2015-2022) Alien invaders franchise (1990-1997) The Alien Returns franchise (1996-2020) Dont Speak franchise (2013-2019)
You should do the top 10 franchises that should be redone. #1 on that list should be the Twilight series. The acting in it is so awful and does a disservice to a great story!
why hasent there be a back to the future part 4 why not just give us a reboot please and the first actress who did Jenifer was excellent not the second one
I agree but would add Tremors as an honorable mention, but honestly it might just be an opinion but mostly Tremors without Michael Gross feels like blasphemy.
I really wish and hope they don't reboot Star Wars. Sure, It has it's ups and downs when comes to movies, some tv shows, But even some of it's downs can also be forgiven, understandable, reasonable, meaningful and even pleasant and appreciative over time. So yeah, I really hope they don't reboot Star Wars.
IF they decide to retell The Godfather, make a new script with next generation characters not Michael and the family that was told in the first and second films. The third film doesn’t exist.
I was asking myself the same question especially when talking about the original trilogy with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Still it's Ms Mojo so it's not much of a surprise with this glaring misstep...
I love the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, which dishartens me sometimes by the fact that The Hobbit movies and the show is not even half good. It just feels like the people behind the franchise are selling out.
All of Them should never get a reboot except John Wick. Keenau Reeves John Wick is great but not enough to make me feel that he is irreplaceable. For LOTR, the ring of powers should not exist.
Which franchise do YOU think should never be rebooted? Let us know in the comments!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, and Back to the future
Austin Powers can't be rebooted without Mike Myers
The MCU, _Star Wars,_ _Indiana Jones,_ _Hunger Games,_ and _Mission: Impossible_ are great enough as they are. The Chronicles of Narnia series. I can’t imagine another Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, even Prince Caspian!
‘The Lord of the Rings’ film franchise became one of the best in 2000s.
All 17 Academy Awards, including “Best Picture.”
🙂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
"Harry Potter" is sacred, and a fond childhood franchise for many of us. Fingers crossed that it NEVER gets remade, since the original cast are perfect as is!
The cast were perfect but I wish it would because some of the movies sucked. Nothing like the books! Should have been a high budget tv series.
How would you feel about an animated reboot television series using the same music from the movies. It would have 7 seasons (one for each book) and each episode would be for a single chapter from the books.
I’d personally like to see a more accurate adaptation of the books but in the form of a series instead of movies
I think Harry Potter is indeed much better suited for a tv series than for a movie franchise.
@@chuumon95 YES. It would be a more accurate to the book and not limited by the movies 2 hour format
‘Back to the Future’ is still part of my childhood and also one of my most favorite Hollywood movies of all time.
I agree
These movie franchises sure are iconic. They're all perfectly good on their own.
BACK TO THE FUTURE, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, HARRY POTTER and INDIANA JONES are perfect. They don't need a reebot to be remembered or shine again.
Two Words: Star Wars. (plus the original Ghostbusters)
Back to the future is a classic and should never get a reboot.
8:09 Nothing would EVER compare to what Peter Jackson & the WETA Workshop created on screen & the trilogy was perfectly casted as well 💯🎬🍿💍🌋
Never remake or reboot Back to the Future. It's perfect!
I always consider Peter Jackson's MIDDLE-EARTH Saga (The Lord Of The Rings/The Hobbit) as my most favorite film trilogy that should never get rebooted.
*Hollywood watching this video*
“Write that Down! Write that Down!”
The «you bow to no one» line and scene give me shivers and goosebumps every single time. 💕
Instead of rebooting beloved franchises, why doesn’t Hollywood try something bold and produce some truly original content for a change?
1. LOTR
2. Harry Potter
3 hunger games
4. Any of the Star Wars movies
5. Back to the future
6. The godfather
7. Indiana Jones
And so on
"If it's not broken don't fix it"
The Lord of the Ring franchise should be left alone! The movies were classics and you just can’t get better actors for the parts. My favorite movie series of all time!
The worst thing is that one or more of these WILL get a reboot, it's just what Hollywood does now. It's 90% reboots and endless sequels
I grew up in middle school with the LOTR movie releases. They DEFINED those years cinematically for me! NO ONE better even THINK of touching those movies until I'm dead!
We ❤ the ‘John Wick’ film franchise!
We can’t wait to see the 4th one in 2023…
Me too
Same, I'm ready to see it
Yes totally agree about john wick franchise 💯
'One does not simply remake LOTR'.
The untouchable masterpieces.🙏
Lord of the Rings
Indiana Jones
Dirty Harry
The Godfather
Please Hollywood DO NOT REMAKE THE CLASSICS!!! UNDERSTAND?!??!
And also, Harry Potter. That series should not be rebooted as well.
Back to the Future was the correct choice for number one. Just leave it alone Hollywood.
Arrowverse VS Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Does that mean you want a Star Wars reboot?...
There's enough materials to start a whole new franchise. Great list
I would add Die Hard, Star Wars (the Original trilogy) and Pirates of the Caribbean.
This list was spot on. Great job. Agree with it 100% 🥰
Hollywood would better take a note and watch this list. If ever they tend to reboot franchises being listed there, they're gonna be making a huge mistake.
Pirates of the Caribbean is another franchise that should never be remade
Harry Potter should never get rebooted. Enough said.
The same argument can be said as well to The Lord of The Rings series, as well as The Godfather series.
@@ajpat9620 Those franchises should never been rebooted either.
@@abellewis3062 Exactly.

You should add the Star Wars and The Silence of The Lambs films
And maybe even the Alien movies
The entire ‘Godfather’ film franchise (1972-1990) needs to be left ALONE.
I don’t see The Godfather getting rebooted anytime soon or ever
Great list. I'd have put LOTR at the top, but it's a matter of personal taste. Honourable mentions could be the Bourne trilogy and Star Wars
I hope Jaws never gets rebooted.

Jaden Smith did in that 2010 Karate Kid movie.
