Wow bro. This is by far the best practical set up I've seen. The pieces work really well together and that depth of those shelves makes everything 10x more dynamic.
Beautiful display CASC, it looks incredible! Everything is so well planned out from the lighting, the acrylic sheets, and the support beams. And great call on the foam risers and the silk cloth. The DC display really pops with the change in levels. Great work buddy! I just might finally make the switch to the Pax when I run out of space.
Outstanding! My OCD would have me painting in all the unused mounting holes black so I don't see columns of light colored circles on the back and side panels.
Great job Cheap! Its good to see someone put a lot of thought behind displaying their statues. Attention to detail and how you display them is what really separates a collection from being great! You seem to have the extreme OCD gene I have as well lol. Too often you just see someone with tons of statues but they are just thrown in some old bookshelf or whatever and it diminishes the collection a bit. Keep up the good work
I completely agree. Making all the statues complement each other is key and half the fun of collecting. I feel like I have a smaller collection then some but, I try to make it look the best it can.
Cheap Ass Statue Collector I know exactly what you mean brother when it comes to this place it takes forever it feels like that anyway lol by the way do you have an ETA on your Superman vs Doomsday from iron Studios
Sweet walkthrough. New subscriber here for sure. And good call on the reinforcements. I am currently rebuilding the mancave and have 4 Pacific Rim statues I need displayed together and they are damn heavy!
Not really sure about the scale. They are pretty damn big. It's my first ever statues and I want to make them a good home. www.sideshowtoy.com/brands/pacific-rim?ref=nextopia
Those are epic statues man! They look like 1/4 size, either way at 20 inches high those things look crazy. It all depends man, if you want them behind glass or something then go with besta, pax, or detolf from Ikea. If you don't care if they are out in the open then I would some how put them TOGETHER on one big shelf or table or something.
Yeah I am certain the Detolfs won't hold them. That was my first choice. I am now planning on using Besta og Pax as you did. Better visit IKEA and take a look at my options. You have given me inspiration for displaying though.
Any chance you can check the thickness of the sheets that you ordered? The ikea panels are 1/8" so when you say you chose the thicker sheets, it's unclear if you mean thicker than 1/8".
Hey. Awesome setup. I have a question though. Did you end up using the cross bars on the door frames or did you go without? If you did go without, how stable is the doors without the crossbars?
xcepttionel without reinforcement Ikea says 44 pounds. My heaviest shelf was holding close to 70 pounds. I had rienforced the shelf so I didn't see any bending but I ended up moving things around and my heaviest shelf is around 40 pounds with no issues.
Thx for the reply, I think im gonna go with the 100 cm long pax so the shelves are going to be weaker then the 75 cm ones but if I use your method I think it will hold. I will put 12 kg or 27 pounds per shelf. Thx again for the vid was going to buy besta's but this is even better.
Hey bud, thinking of going the same route as far as you for shelf support. Is that solution still keeping the shelves from bowing? Also, did you use the original pegs that came with the shelves?
bro what is that galatitor hulk you have? And in the next shelf there is a wolverine i believe fighting sabertooth? I will ask where but this is 7 years ago. So ima need to know the brand of them and maybe i could find someone reselling it. If you are reselling it lmk thanks
Rotem Yehuda all the furniture I have is black. TV stand, bestas, book case. with cool white LEDs I really like how they look with the black/brown cabinets. and white just doesn't go with my rooms decor.
Hey CASC, nice display there! Just wanted to know a little more detail about how you set up the doors. Did you just buy the PAX sliding door and leave out the rails that were supposed to hold the small windows? Your video isn't completely clear on that --- and also how do you afix the clear plastic sheet to the door panels after? Thanks!
Greetings...happy holidays to you! I wanted to say great video... I learned a lot after watching your video and reading the comments on this thread. I do have one question: how did you fix the acrylic sheets to securely sit within the frame without the crossbars? Looking forward to hearing from you. Have a nice day...again, great video.
Hey Mike, there is a lip around the frame where the sheets fit in. The frame comes in four parts and when you have two parts together you slide in the sheet. Then you have to connect the other two parts of the frame. The sheet sits in the frame pretty well, even without the cross bars.
CASC... Thanks for the advice sir! Based on your video, I have purchased a PAX (59 X 79 1/4...I believe it is a step down from yours) that comfortably houses my Avengers Hulk and hulk vs Wolverine diorama by Sideshow. I still have a little ways to go in completing my display setup, but thanks to your advice, my next objective will be to put my frame together in order to get the measurements for my see through panel. Thanks again very much for the help!!! If there are any other DO’s and/or DON’Ts you can think of that you feel maybe useful...please let me know lol! Peace and blessing to you...and keep up the great work on your vids!
Mike Bell I used cheap led lights and connectors from eBay. I ended up replacing some of the strips with brighter LED strips and replaced all the plastic connectors for the led strips from home Depot.
CASC...Thanks! I’ll check out the lighting options when I go get the panels from Home Depot. Any advice on the frame and panels that you think will be helpful...anything you noticed since you setup yours til now?
2 - Acrylic sheets 39 3/8 x 76 11/16 - $261.00. There were two sizes that would have fit and there is only two sizes that custom acrylic factors make that would fit these door frames. I went with the thicker size.
Can you tell me where you bought the acrylic sheets from? I'm building cabinets the same size, and I either can't get sheets this big shipped or they are doubled the price you paid.
Have you considered using u-channel strips to reinforce the shelves instead? This will allow you to adjust the shelves without worrying about also moving the support bar: www.ikeahackers.net/2016/04/easy-shelf-reinforcement-billy-shelves.html
Wow bro. This is by far the best practical set up I've seen. The pieces work really well together and that depth of those shelves makes everything 10x more dynamic.
Thank you! I spent months just planning out how to do all this.

Thank you! Yeah pax systems are great for big pieces and can be good for smaller pieces also if you get creative.
Thanks for the great info. I've been looking around at display cases quite a while now and this helps a lot!
Outstanding! My OCD would have me painting in all the unused mounting holes black so I don't see columns of light colored circles on the back and side panels.

Its not the SIZE of the collection that matters (that's what she said). As long as you like it - thats all that matters in this crazy hobby :)
nice collection. do you have more details about what maker , line etc.. regarding that awesome DC dioramas . thank you
Great job on this brother!! Epic battles going on all over the gaff! Congrats on a great set up! Peace
Thank you Geo Man!
great job on the display, i love it... thanks for sharing bro
Thanks squizzy!
looks awesome brother very nicely done and secure awesome display thanks for sharing

complained to Iron Studios, and they said it would release in Brazil this November. I'm guessing later in the month or early December when I get mine.
Cheap Ass Statue Collector really looking forward to seeing what you think about it in hand I think you will be impressed regardless what people think
awesome seat up casc good display.
Thank you!
Excellent job brother. Looks amazing.

Great video loved this tutorial...
Thank you Carlos!!!! Much appreciated.
Hi, nice vid! Just wondering how you got the plexiglass into the frame. Did you glue it or does it have grooves?
It has grooves.
Hey. Awesome setup. I have a question though. Did you end up using the cross bars on the door frames or did you go without? If you did go without, how stable is the doors without the crossbars?
Amazing video , how much weight do you think the shelves can hold with the reinforcement ? The only thing letting me down on the pax were the shelves.

Can you remember how thick is the acrylic panel that you used? Would 3/16" work (default glass is 1/8")?

Thanks for the feedback. I just ordered custom acrylic sheets that fit into the panels of the Ikea sliding doors.
So no need to buy the small windows just the sliding door frame.
He is actually removing the middle bars and using a single sheet per door. According to an earlier response, each sheet is 39 3/8 x 76 11/16.
@@badbob001 you are right
How did u install the acrylic on the door?
What is the maximum load for each shelf?

You said panels, you talking about the acrylic sheets?
is there a link for the shelf support rails?
may i ask you what size of the Acrylic ??
Can you tell me who makes the support bars please?
Are the DC Direct statues the mini or the full-size versions?
sinsei ray full-size
How much were the acrylic sheets?
Where can I buy the shelves support?
You can get the beam from Ikea. I'm actually going to get some L brackets to support the shelf a little more.
@@casc7517 will adding two of the Ikea Beam be enough for 44lbs, instead of the L brackets ?
