the square vibrato setting reminds me a lot about the way i like to use my boss ce-5, plug a dummy patch cable into the second output and you get a shitty sounding vibrato like that, sounds kinda cool with the filters cutting both bass and a lil treble
Hey man, would you be able to do a lesson on body mechanics/ tension and hand positions (both fretting and picking hand)? Would be nice to have some clarification on how to rest your picking hand and barre chord hand position etc as I seem to be getting a lot of fatigue in my fretting hand whenever I play barre chords, and it's hard to judge which string I'm picking when my picking hand isn't resting properly. Thanks
Great video! You both made me laugh, like hanging with my friends. My question is, can you dial back that "noise/ tape hiss" sound at all, independent of the rest of the effects? Or are you stuck with it. Asking since it's sometimes desireable, mostly already showing up since I record I to tape, and at times need to eliminate it. Thanks again!
@@mariodiaz2114 I use Strymon Deco for that reason. If you set lag time to 0 and turn on the modulation you get that vibrato effect from a tape recorder and it's randomised. Works great for me!
The pedal blends the mix of vibrato and compression. It's a lot easier and cheaper to do with a few VSTs. I could possibly do a tutorial to get a very similar sound, and probably more unique as well
"Wow and Flutter" is the term you hear when it comes to this sort of old Cassette Tape sound. I have heard of there being a VST out there that replicates that sound.
“Some people would use it as a reamper~” (proceeds to explain what that means while the other guy talks over him “absolutely, blah blah”. Don’t talk over information just because you know what it is. Some viewers don’t.
Hi Sean. If I'm not mistaken you are in the Sarasota area. I see the great guitarist Richard Smith will be playing a small house concert in Sarasota on January 30th. I encourage you to check him out. The contact information for attending is on his website or I'd be happy to give it to you. If you go tell him Hammer from St. Paul, MN recommended him to you.
I have this pedal. The sweet spot is tiny. Unless you need that specific sound don't get it it's noisy. I recommend a real chorus pedal and a real tremolo pedal and nobody needs a compressor pedal. It does have that Velvet Underground or indie-rock vibe I guess but you can get that dream pop shoegaze sound with much better pedals and for less.
That pedal sounds like warm ass and hot feet got together and played a blues song called 'Warm Ass and Hot Feet present Toe Jambs of your life... how not to get laid, VOL I".
Hash Zero Never heard of the Whammy, or the Echoplex, have you? These are pedals beloved for their ability to bend, shift and even ruin tones. Try listening to Radioheads Karma Police, they used an echoplex on a telecaster at the end of the song. I think this might give you an idea how these sounds can be used for great effect.
Goodhertz wow plugin is great for this stuff, but not much use when it comes to playing live, so that's where this pedal comes in..or if you're like me and prefer to commit your sounds and effects when recording, rather than using plugins. i like to play the effect, so to speak.
I watched it trough just waiting for the guys to kiss at the end.
lmao
It feels really unwoke of me to laugh...but I did super hard! God bless you.
through
Did they kiss?
@@bazzagee7792 i am irish
Bought this as soon as you said Boards of Canada & Bibio...the exact sound I was looking for. Thanks guys!
How are you liking it?
This is amusing from a guy who says he cant listen to old recordings because of the recording quality
Shhhhhh
Dudes playing a 3000 dollar guitar. Lol
One of the best demos of this pedal. Nice work! I have one of these...don't forget to try the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl MKII (same developer).

whoa that’s kinda cool, you think i could do the same thing with a boss ch-1?
The red haired guy is a good teacher. Pretty cool pedal too.
Thanks so much!
American that pedal show vibe.
Thanks so much!
it sounds great if you want to sound likemac demarco, cool pedal overall :D
Thanks for watching!
I gotta get one of these!
Brian Eno was right "As soon it can be eliminated, it will be duplicated." Or something like that.
Great video, guys. Thanks for clarifying the difference between the Instant and Looper, too. Now I want both.
If the pedal is turned off... Does it allow the dry sound to go through it with no compressor and no hiss?

Perhaps in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.
Very nice pedal. Reminds me a little of a leslie speaker. I will need one of these pedals.
Thanks for watching!
Got my like and sub just for mentioning Boards of Canada
Very informative for a newb like me! Thanks!
great, now I gotta buy another pedal
I love this video! Thank you! The end s hilarious lol
Whoah what’s that guitar
Noisy background . I bought this thing years ago. The compressor is so good

I love it it, i just wish it had more of a randomized feel.
Me too, are to aware of pedal that does that better?

can this effect be replicated using a chorus and a compressor pedal?
You could get something close, but the Zvex has its own character.
vibrato + compressor + eq do the job done
Beringer cheap vibrato pedal, take a look
Tork * I’m getting cool tones with el capistan

i need a full version of the intro
Hopefully Justin will make one!
Sean Daniel please for the love of god ask him to make one 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
What is this effect called in DAWs and producing in general?
+Daniel Weber Great question. Warble compression? I don't really know honestly. Just 'lo-fi-ness'

check out GoodHertz Wow Control plugin
good stuff!
Thanks! It's a fun pedal!
imagine playing with the speed up while on acid
WHOA DOOD. DRUG. Dorkass.

Might as well go for the Walrus Julianna for the price
When the pedal is 2x more expensive than your guitar
Your guitar is $100?
Bruh thats more expensive thany my guitar
Get a new guitar! Lol

How much? Live in Mexico.
I'm looking for a plugin that has the same fluttering sound as this pedal. Is anyone aware of one?
There's one I use call the Vulf compressor by goodhertz. Not exactly the same thing, but worth looking at.
@@seandaniel23 It looks great, thanks! It has the vinyl "wow" sound I'm looking for.
UA-cam 'Line 6 Tape Eater', Line 6 used to make this pack off plugins and one the 'pedals' does this to a T.
Waves Kramer tape
Rc-20 retro color by xln audio! Wobbling vhs/cassette sound

Sorry I composed this message a month ago and somehow it got stuck in a que and just posted. And to the wrong UA-cam clip. Me no understand.
I've had stuff like that happen before too! Bummer I missed it!
doesn't the eventide space reproduce pretty much the same sounds?
Never actually used that pedal but I heard it's pretty great :)
btw what kind of guitar does he use?
It's a MusicMan Albert Lee HH
Are you still going to be reviewing the rest of Justin's pedal board?
Yeah he's just been busy lately but we're gonna get to all of them. Plus I finally finished my own pedalboard so watch out for that soon!
PLAY THE FUCKING PEDAL
Joyo ac tone is the best

Awesome pedal though.

Not for everyone :)
Sounds like those guys from family guy
in the end you have could have keeped on talking. :D i was just thing oh yeah yeah exactly like that :D
Damn $240 tho :(
Yeah they aren't cheap
Why pay for a pedal that makes your guitar sound like it is out of tune when you can just detune your strings... LOL

Hash Zero Sry, dude, didn't quite get the joke. No hard feelings anyway!
Until I de tune my guitar then use this pedal to re-tune it!
Hash Zero if you turn the depth down, theres pretty much no modulation. Love this pedal
Hash Zero cause is that the human race does, get the perfect crystal tone with CD quality then comes with lo fi effects, funny isn’t it?
is this a joke
A vintage joke.
200+ Bucks for a pedal when you can just plug your guitar to your computer and mess around with some Lofi tape vintage vst's for free :
It's more fun to have live but good point.

How much was your computer though?
Bad comparison though, a computer has many many functions and can have thousands of plugins and possibilities
i was very sad and suicidal after watching this video. disliked.
Walker Logan what the FUCK
What’s that first chord ??
