- In this video I compare 5 different effects pedals for lofi guitar. I'm running a loop through a looper that I have placed before all of the pedals.
1. TC Electronic Tailspin Vibrato amzn.to/2ToIvLW
2. Walrus Audio Julia amzn.to/3mvFG8x
3. Recovery Effects Cutting Room Floor reverb.grsm.io/cuttingroomfloor
4. Strymon El Capistan reverb.grsm.io/elcapistan
5. Cooper FX/Chase Bliss Generation Loss (Updated Version) reverb.partnerlinks.io/genlos...

The tailspin sounded surprisingly good for the low price.
How much is it?
@@futur_sunds sorry if I’m late man but literally 35-60$ depending on where you get it and if it’s new
@@sjohnson_3355 Where?
@@futur_sunds Cosmo Music (Canada). Or even Amazon.
Absolutely agree.
That riff was so cozy and easy listening, I could bump it on loop for a while!
I really liked it too. Superb.
lofi + chorus + hm overdrive = ???!?!?!?
This is how a comparison video should be done. Holy shit that generation loss!!!
I absolutely love my Julia. Generation Loss is amazing, but the Julia is like having that old friend around where you reminiscing about the past, the good times as children.
It sounded very subtle in the demo. Can you get some more extreme sounds out of it?
Generation Loss is a mile above, I need one
I just checked the prices on reverb... it's insane.
@@hendrixg which is exactly why it sucks that I watched this video and liked how it sounds
I figured the price would be somewhat expensive at a bit over $150. Then I check on reverb. Fml.
@@012jacob012 there are some decent approximations done with patches on the Zoom Multistomp
a lot of posh unnecessary gear/toys....
The Tailspin has been one of my favorite pedal purchases
Probably the best comparison vid out there
Fantastic video Doug. Thanks for playing the same thing through each pedal. That generation loss pedal is exactly what i'm looking for. Big up.
I like these type of demos without the talking. 10/10
I love playing this melody and putting it in the looper to make the sound.
I wish all review videos could be like this. Thank you!
I could seriously listen that loop all day! Wow that was so relaxing
I'm only at the 1:25, but I already want to say thank you for this amazing demo, clean loop, clean visual, love that you test the min/max settings to really show what's happening, 10/10
that was a great way to do the comparisons!
Awesome video!! ❤❤🔥🔥 Theyre all so good in different ways
I am envious of that chord progression, homeboy…
Nice vid ! I have 3 of those, particularly on the gen loss I have I am not a guitar player but use it for sound design. What's your signal path like I love how clear the sound is from it. I have a DI duplex and a pre and I missing maybe a reamp box ?? I just get a bit of hum I want to rid of. Again thanks for the video it was awesome
Nice video, I’ll chose one of them. Thank you
Really cool video. Thanks for doing this
Love this content man
this is a great video, thank you very much!
really nice work thanks
The Memory Boy setting was definitely my favorite in this comparison, though I feel like with more tweaking the other pedals could get pretty close.
I have an El Cap and a Stereo MM with Hazarai - curious to give it a shot on both of those.
Endless inspiration
Thanks!!
I haven't used any of these pedals, but love the effect. To my ears, the Cutting Room Floor and the Generation Loss are head and shoulders above the rest with amazing sounds. Great video.
Those are my favorites as well. Thanks for watching!
Generation loss and cutting room tied for most versatile/interesting, walrus audio for most clarity and ambient tone, Strymon for most practical, and tail whip for most affordable way to get you in the realm of these sounds without breaking the bank in my opinion. Each is good for different reasons.
Walrus Lillian is also good to, phase is the most slept on form of modulation adlong as you also add vibrato which Lillian does your good with chor, flan or phase in the chain for lofi modulation warble.
Hey, can you make a Tutorial of the backtracking please ? It is so nice
Or can you at least give us the chords you use
Just bought a tailspin. I can't wait to get it❤
My CF7 has a good vibrato setting. Good rolled-off tone.
I love the loop ♥️ Do you have that tabs by any chance I would love to learn this.☺️ love the video 👍
amazing
Is this riff ya made available to listen in Spotify, cuz mannnnn it soooo amazing
Very nice
Video is fixed cuz the loop itself is too beautiful 😍
Well that was the quickest like and subscribe I've done.
Ok that's it! I'm getting the generation loss it's awesome
i wish i could aswell but they’re pretty hard to find. most of em for right now are either sold out or really pricey lmfao
@@jnessuhh Darn!
the big question
how it sound if all pedals are engaged?
I got the Juliana and it’s pretty awesome.
I would love the Generation Loss but it’s either impossible to find or afford ( two on Reverb right now for $1000)
However I was able to pick up Cooper FX Arcade! It’s a modular pedal with cartridges you plug in. There is a Low-Fi cartridge and Generation Loss cartridge. I can recommend them both!
I was wondering how the cartridge compared if anyone knows
@@benjaminfowler4513 I only have the cartridge not the original Gen Loss pedal but I can say the cartridge is incredibly great.
Even beyond the Gen Loss cartridge, there is a Low-Fi cartridge that is even better!
If you go on the Cooper FX page, there are manuals describing what parameters are adjustable and what each of the 8 programs on each cartridge will do.
I can’t recommend it enough.
@@grizelda4526 thanks I'm gonna try to get ahold of one when I'm able to
@@benjaminfowler4513 hey nice last name bro
I'm gonna get the Generation Loss, shut up and take my money!!! > look at the price on reverb > I think the TC Electronic is good enough for myself.....
Haha yeah the Chase Bliss versions are $$$. I think Cooper FX is possibly coming out with a V2, just not sure when. Or else check out the Cooper FX Arcades with the Generation Loss card.
The mod setting on the Chase Bliss Dark World (which is also a collaboration with Cooper FX) can get sounds *extremely* similar to this if you turn the mix right up, and you can run it into a really lush plate/hall reverb on the other side of the pedal. It's still not cheap but it's an amazing pedal and really great value for money
a lot of posh unnecessary gear/toys....
Can I get this sound on a Boss DD-8?
Tailspin kinda rules.
Hey we both have the same name 😂😂😂 . Anyways great video man!!! ❤🔥
how to get that mac demarco tone down to the bone (-:
generation loss 1500 bux...best one tho
Brother could you write down the tabs to play this Riff. I absolutely fell in love with it :)
generation loss all the way! any chance u sell urs lol :D
What amp are you using? Love the tone.
Of course, the most accessible of all pedals here is t.c.Electronic. The rest of the pedals are like a wing from an airplane))
Use reverb effect?
Generation Lost takes the cake 🎂
I vote for the Generation Loss
Tabs, please! Awesome song!!!
the tc is pretty killer for like 50 bucks
sucks how many companies are either sold out of em or bumped the price up to 100
that riff tho?
who are some bands and artists with tones like these?
This riff ever become a full song?
Theme Of Laura?)))
the tabz pls mein good sir
This loop is sick. Tabs by chance?
just listen.
Put the video at 0.75 or 0.5 speed and play what you hear!
Please please please
@@RobertSlover don't be like that, I know it's good to develop your ear, but yeah
@@monarcas5502 but nothing....
TC Tailspin it is then 😂
If you want a lo fi sound get the malekko 616 lo fi mine broke within like the first 20 use's it doesn't get more lo fi than that ha !
No sound at all is as lo fi as it gets!
Ate, volante would be so perfect but they dont allow for slow modulation in dry signal.
Generation loss doesnt let u modulate the speed of wow and flutter
Kinotone is too expensive and aint randomized
ARRRRGH
All these comments on reverb pricing. Too funny. I swear Reverb is just another music store. It's rare to find anything at a decently lower price.
tab please
Can we have the tabsssssssssssssssss🎉🎉❤❤❤
Chords?
The way I though this was a tarot reading at first glance 💀
Lol😭😭
i love Generation Loss the most! it's unavailable almost everywhere though :(
Yeah, hard to find it right now. I think there’s a V2 on the way, not sure when it will be available though.
@@DougHanson i heard V2 is again not by chase bliss but cooper only...:/
Are you interested in testing our pedals?

@@DougHanson yo can u drop tabs for this riff please
@@DougHanson tabs pls
@@DougHanson yo bro drop tabs mg
@@DougHanson yo could we get some tabs
i will never be able to afford a julia pedal
GIVE US THE TABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone just aso for them tabs baby.
This is not accurate, this is not how you lofi guitar this just sounds like underwater lofi, every artist on lofi girls channel uses a softer version of the John Mayer tone you get that with clean boost into a blues breaker or bb imitation pedal. For vibrato and or tape saturation a strymon deco would surfice.
none of these are what I would call low fi
They’re imitating tape recording/ vinyl warp so I don’t really get how they aren’t lofi
conclusion: get a vibrato pedal
