Fun fact: in the original journey to the west, a person named lao tzu(or something like that) suggested to the jade emperor that they should put him in some sort of cauldron where they set fire under it, which would split the immortality and wukong apart, but after 49 DAYS later wukong was still immortal and the flames/smoke gave him cool red eyes, this is also before wukong got imprisoned under a mountain in the original
and it made him even more immortal by burning away his mortality
