Music video by John Mayer performing Wildfire. (C) 2013 Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment
There should be a genre called 'Mayer' he is so diverse its ridiculous.
Wildfire horse song
nice one haha
Luke Casey Shaw totally dude. He brings me into other genres and him with the dead is just unbelievable
amen
Here in 2021 to give the update that John Mayer does actually have a genre now. Sob Rock here we come!
My dad is always proud to say he went to see U2, Clapton live multiple times. My mom is always proud to say she went to see Queen live. One day I’ll go to see John Mayer live and I’ll be proud to tell that to my children
Went to see him on his last tour. No opening act, just him playing for 2 1/2 hours with almost every song run time being extended by 1 to 3 minutes. He played everything too. Everything from Room for Squares to New Light. I was impressed. Most artists who have made it big don't give it all the got on every song for almost 3 hours.
I'm jealous of all those who have been in his concerts. I'll also go soooooooooon.
@@Anne-lg9xc he'll def go on tour again from his new album within the next two years prob especially after covid.
@@grant7532 Yesssssss! 🥺
@@Anne-lg9xc Sob rock tour! told ya=D
I hope he'll soon find the love of his life, he seems to be such a lonely soul
jaz zle ahh i know right :((
I hope you can be a good partner for him🤪
@@sanghi999 true
That's what his guitar is for
He's changed but I'm the past he's literally written songs about why he'll always be lonely and why he WANTS that. Perfectly lonely, half of my heart, assassin and a few others I can't name off top of my head. Now he's ready to settle.
John was 30 when he recorded Where The Light Is, and he was still doing blues with JM Trio.
Also, he's one of the few artists who's never been consistent with his approach to new material and that's what I've always admired about him. What separates him from his contemporaries is that he's skilled enough to make it all work for him, not to mention he is the master of his craft.(guitar) Folk, blues, rock, pop. I don't care, he can play it all because I know he'll make it work and i'll enjoy it.
That is why he is an amazing artist, singer and guitar player
Later, when I'm old, I'll be glad that I can say to my children: "Yeah, I live in the John Mayer generation" He's such an inspiration
Amen to that
Mayer writes songs that are instant classics. He is also one of the best guitarists to come along in a while. Not many like him today. I like him mixing it up.
No one like him today imo
Bro called it
John is a musical virtuoso. He's tackled nearly every musical genre and excelled. This guy is a true student of music culture. Todays pop-tarts and Idol stars have no musical understanding and historical frame of reference. Thanks to John for keeping the legacy of True musicianship intact. We need more people like John in the music business. The musicians of the 30s,40,50,60,70 and 80s understood music and now it's all programed crap and people who can't sing or lack true musical understanding.
Yes, we really need out pop-tarts to have music degrees...
Amen to that bunch yelling makes no sense.
Instantly fell in love with this song.
Hello Brenda how are you doing hopefully you are doing good?)
I love it when I find a song that I have to just listen to over and over again cause it's so good it just gets in my soul
and never gets old
No better feeling.
I've listened to it a million times, too:]
This is one of those songs.
This happened to ..wildfire ❤
This is the song that introduced me to John Mayer when it released. Since then I've listened to each and every song of his. Best artist out there.
I absolutely agree ❤
I like how he always manages to put some kind of smooth flow in his songs. Big thumbs up for this man. He knows what he's doin'!
If you can listen to this without kickin your feet and bouncing ur head I'm worried about u
I would be more worry about yourself.
Tru
ditto! u gots no soul if you can sit still during this...
Ikr💯
🤣😂👍👍👍
oh my goodness this song is amazing. i never used to like country/ country inspired music but i can safely say that this song has won me over.
Well this isn't exactly country
izzy hatzi dude this song is no where near gay ass country its blues and alternative
@@CrustySibs no not exactly, but you can kind of feel some folk possibly a little bluegrass influence.
I can literally listen to it thousands of times without getting bored. I love this song! :)
one thing I love about John's music... he doesn't disappoint when it comes to composition...his progression is always so unique... and tasteful
I love how John evolves with every album he comes out. Keeps things fresh and interesting. Something different every time. Keep up the amazing work John.
Comes as no surprise to me that he spent a lot of time after surgery listening to mainly the Grateful Dead..that Jerry tone is killin!!!!
I agree!
Jerry who? I must knoooow!
Alexandre Giglio Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead
Today I became john Mayer fan, love is smooth music
I'd say the Born and Raised album is his ultimate best
definetly his best album is Continuum
Such a genius with enough pleasant variety amongst his albums that he manages to keep the exisiting fans happy and attract new ones.
Personally, Battle Studies is my favorite.
It's not the most artistic amongs the lot, but when I fell on "hard times"(yeah- it was "heartbreak" :) ), it allowed me to have an outlet and resonated with me. It helped get me through those dark days.
I love some songs from his first album such as the radio hits as well as "Neon", "Great Indoors" and my fav- "St. Patrick's Day".
Also love "Born And Raised" and "Continuum" and recently "Paradise Valley" has stated growing on me.
This kid is showing some of my favorite bands(not even solo acts) how it's done- Coldplay, Matcbox 20 and the like need to learn a bit.
Thank you for the music, John!
Júnior Moura i like BS better bro.
Joseph Diamond same
I remember listening to this song while walking through Universal Studios this summer. Brings me good memories!
the first time I cried at a concert was during the solo of Edge of Desire - my wife and I were at the Hollywood Bowl, decent seats, and lemme tell ya, it was a perfect evening.
Same but nyc solo tour
The exact definition of a feel good summer song. Nothing fancy, just some fine music. Thank you John.
Such an underrated song
I've been loving him since the 6th grade and I'm 22 now. His music has changed so much and it's still as amazing as it's always been. Music artists change their sounds all the time and its nothing wrong with that. At least its still rock and not pop. I LOVE YOU JOHN and I'm SO glad you're staying true to real music! See you September 27th!!!! ❤X
I saw this show in Mansfield, MA! Wow, reminds me of Camping, and other people and places. ♥️
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
"Tonight the moon's so bright you could drive with your headlights out," fuckin amazing song lyric, terrible advice.
if only i wouldve seen this 2 hours ago
Where's the LOL button ? LOLZ !!
LOVE the new album. Anyone dissing his new style needs to consider that each of his albums tells a story of a specific part of his life's journey they continuee a narrative. His musical style changes as the narrative does.
RFS and HT: a young guy who wants to mess around and have fun.
Continuum: A cocky guy who thinks he's learned about love and the meaning of life
BS: a man heartbroken by love
B&R and PV: a man willing to move on and find his way back to love with a more modest outlook on life
Mannnn, What I’d do to sit and smoke a few with Mayer, jamming to music, playin’ music and just the overall conversation would be very exquisite.
I never sat down the entire concert... Hes seriously the best concert Ive been too. If y'all ever get a chance to see him do it you will not be disappointed.
does anyone else think this song should be played on country stations?? love this sound john has right now.
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
@@johnmayer6533 Nice meeting you as well. Hows your day going?
@Jessica Beleutz check out the version of this that Aaron Watson did. He cranked the country on it.
wow.. the bridge and that solo is just... wow..
daradidam cold play srrawberry swing
2:54 When that "Jerry tone" comes rolling in lord have mercy!!!
ALL MUSICIANS!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I JUST LOVE JOHN MAYER SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
"Cause a little bit of john mayer's what the whole music's all about..."
River's strong you can't,
Swim inside it we could
String some lights up the, hill beside it
Tonight the moon's so bright you could,
You could drive with your headlights out
'Cause a little bit of summer's what the whole year's all about
You look fine, fine, fine
Put your feet up next to mine
We can watch that water line get higher and higher
Say, say, say
Ain't it been some kind of day
You and me been catching on like a wildfire
Don't get up just to, get another you can
drink from mine, we can't, leave each other
We can dance with the dead
You can rest your head
On my shoulder if you want to get older with me
'Cause a little bit of summer makes a lot of history
You look fine, fine, fine
Put your feet up next to mine
We can watch that water line get higher and higher
Say, say, say
Ain't it been some kind of day
You and me been catching on like a wildfire
I got a rock from the river in my medicine bag
Magpie feather in his medicine bag
Say, say, say
Ain't it been some kind of day
You and me been catchin' on like a wildfire
Hey can you send me a copy or link to all the work you put in listing all the lyrics??
Not all superheroes wear capes! Thank you! 🙌🏻
I feel peace when I heard this song....
Each time I buy one of his albums, I feel like he has just made his best album yet. Then comes another one.... truely blown away with his diversity and boldness to change and express himself through his music. This is what defines great artists. Truely lucky to be able to experience this!!
John Mayer’s genre should just be called “good music”
A John Mayer's concert isn't a John Mayer's concert without the bandana on his forehead !!!
John has matured with every album, and I love it. The best part about it is, there are becoming less and less little girl fans that I have to see and "hear"...
Are you alive?
Everything about that solo at the end was amazing and just shows how versatile John is!
the train sound at 2:53, perfect👌
What an awesome bridge this song has.
I wish people would stop saying "Oh, I hate John's 'folk' phase and get back into his Continuum phase". Just shut the fuck up and listen to the amazing lyrics, groovy guitar lines, and foot-tapping drum beat. Every song John writes is pure gold.
After listening to this song , it has been proved that there exists one more genre in music & it's called "john mayer" ......
A happy summer song...
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
J.M. Sempre será J.M.
FANTÁSTICO!
John mayer is the best musician of our entire generation. I have been a fun since 1999 when I was 5 years old. He never stops impressing me with his lyrics and musical talents! Thank God that Mayer is back!!!
The emotional connection is not in the substance but rather the absence of it. Brilliant composition.
I'll never be this
Just love this song
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
Growth of a musician. His style shows his curiosity in other sounds of music.
He's just catching the soul of different American music styles with his own voice and soul. Realy I don't understand the negative comments
The man purse at the end makes me love him even more somehow
This album makes me love ❤️ you more 😘
There are no words for you. Blest my soul that before I EXIT Hell I got to behold MAGIC MAYER. Wishing yours to avoid pains that will forever tear you to depths unbearable.
He's combining all the experiences he has had. That way he keeps growing, and gets better every time he plays. That guy truely is the god of music
Adoroooo ❤❤
love his new music going on..
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
find myself coming back to this video, it hits a nostalgia button i can't find anywhere else. the feeling of a carefree summer with nothing to see but friends smiles and warm unknown memories to uncover
He is obviously showing his influence by southern boy the GREAT JJ Cale who wrote at least one piece on the album. JJ taught Clapton, Knopfler, and many great others ... he sorta created that lovely flow of sound. Once you have heard JJ you never forget him and hear him everywhere in other peoples' work he was / is just that good.
john looks like a mix of james franco and jason segel lol
I thought of him having a resemblance of James Franco too. my 2 favorites! :)
With a hint of Johnny Depp
The looks of James and Comedic feel of Jason
Yesssssssss
Shelby Cooper some of my fren get confuse with my photos 😊
I love this song..
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
If you listen to anything off Paradise Valley or Born and Raised while driving through the western US you’ll instantly be taken to a new place
Fell head over heals in love with him with this song ❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
Anyone else can't get enough of this song?
The solo/outro of this song is brilliant. This last album is so good!
It's kind musical fusion. He is like a sponge. All he hears, he absorbs it all around.Simple as that.
I really love this album...I think it is unfair to compare this album to Continuum because its such a different sound.. yes this album is rooted in blues, but it just has such an old timey feeling to it..you can definitely hear the Montana influence. John continues to amaze me on the guitar and i really think you need to start considering him in the talks with other greats
LOL "We can dance with The Dead, you can rest your head on my shoulder if you want to get older with me".. A little foreshadowing here perhaps?
You sly dog you
Billy Merrz i dont get it
Zak You know, the Grateful Dead stuff?
Zak Baker dead and company
He's referencing the grateful dead dipshit
Every album, Mayer inches closer to being equivalent with our legends. BB, Clap and SRV.
Pulling off all of the genres he's touched is something very few artists can do. I am continually impressed, and can't wait for Paradise Valley!
Do you guys know what's so amazing, when i was in marocco visiting a place called paradise valley I vist heard of john mayer's upcoming album. Well it just made my day, which already was super btw ;)
It's morocco*
I'm sorry but by the end of the song 0:29 - end. I just lost it anc got up and started dancing with the best and the guitar because he's guitar skills are just lit asf.
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
This is the ultimate summer song to sing along with John in August at his concert~~CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Love everything he does, ALL OF IT, from start to finish. This man is a genius and I'm so grateful for his music.
Yes John, I added your song to my favorite Country Songs because it resonates with my Camping adventures! Love you Johnny Mayer! XOXO
Memories of 2013
Yep..
Best memories I have are from this tour and as you said 2013 to 2016
He gives me the god damn chills
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
Thank you John. I appreciate everything. Can not wait to see you again.
John Mayer took Country music's formula for songwriting and made a great song out of it. Something few people have ever done.
GoT reminder
I love his new stuff! I like it better than his original blues stuff
This stage of John Mayer is as important as any other stage, so stop asking for the "Pop" or "Blues" Mayer. Respect that he is actually still here and not faded away like any other musician that came from his era.
I love everything John Mayer does, and, Paradise Valley, is another piece of the puzzle, that is his life. My other favorites are, Heavier Things, Where the light is, and, Battle Studies. In those albums, I feel we really are able to relate to the changes in John's life. Every album tells a story, and, we get to share John's journey. This newest story is lighter and, it seems John is more at peace with his life-I hope I got that right. ♥
everybodys trying to copy his hipster style. i kind of love it.
I love John Mayer! If you want, check out my cover of Your Body Is A Wonderland
so you like a truly talented artist but choose to play his teenage heartthrob music?
Justin Gerlach You know, there's a small possibility he just enjoys playing the song.
I Like You Sam Wool:)
Never disappointed with John Mayer content! He's one of few artists to have never made a dud album!!
Paradise valley is such a great summer album. Still listening in 2018 John!!!
Do I detect some Stevie Ray Vaughn?
I would have to agree, It's got groove to it.
His first albums sounded wayyyy more like stevie
Yeah
Stevie's tricks mostly, but the sound is all john
LuukKlaren got that right
this pisses me off,i hate new country...yet this song, i cant hate it....
This is not country.
Yeah...it kind of is. Considering he SAID he was going country,I would consider Paradise Valley a country album.
MisterJatip
No way is it a country album. John Mayer has a genre of his own that really can't be defined.
People said the same thing about Johnny Cash, yet he was still classified as country.
MisterJatip Does it matter? His music is just pure awesomeness:D
dude! his way of life reflects on his songwriting, right now he's 35 and chilling out somewhere in montana settling down, which REALLY comes back into his songs, just appreciate his way of life now and if its too boring for you take some LSD
I saw John in Concert doing this album when it first came out. Saw him on my Birthday 8/8! In Boston. This song Reminds me of Camping!
Is it wierd if im a boy and i like this song :/
John likes this song and he's a guy. So do I.
nah it means you have a good taste
It'd be weirder if you didn't like it
I'm a 17 year old guy and I love John Mayer's music. It's just good music (especially if you're a guitar fan)
Nope, just means you aren’t a stereotype and hate it because it’s sung by “John Mayer” or because it’s a “Guy” or because “Insert More Bs Here”. You enjoy the music, because it’s GREAT music. I’m also a male, and I absolutely love John Mayer’s music. It’s outstanding. His own music is beautiful and the covers he does of old songs, shows his appreciation for real music, and shows that he’s very talented.
Mayer inspired me to pick up the guitar and songwriting if you have a moment and could check out my first 2 recorded songs on my channel id greatly appreciate it
Love the little Gospel style touch during the chorus
Love this! Great musician....very talented...
Lol you have no likes👏😂👏👏
He needs to start doing blues and funk again, not this radio garbage.
fuck you
Any song John Mayer touches is amazing!
HE PLAYED THIS AT MY SHOW
Your music is pure joy absent of any inhibitions.
