@@SpiffySlippers Well, when you're there live, the band will sound SO much louder than the audience. So funny and cool to think their concerts are gonna be dominated by mostly the late 20's- mid 30's crowd all of us just vibin re-living our middle/high school days lol
god, I remember I started listening to them when I was twelve. Sadly I was too late it was 2013 :( I feel like I'm finally living what I was supposed to have lived back then. I'm 21 now in my own little home and I needed this.

I remember when I first watched the " I'm not ok" video on much music USA. I loved it so much I recorded the video on VHS and watched it every morning before school. My step dad took me to FYE and bought me three cheers. Later that night I fell asleep listening to that album and for the first time listened Helena. I was 15 IIRC. I'm now turning 32 this year.
This is amazing. So freaking amazing. Never thought I'd hear them live again. And they sound as good as ever. Plus they threw in some songs from Conventional Weapons! I'm crying 😭❤
I find it strange how the guitarists play it live now. Ray plays almost entirely octaves during the verse except for the initial Db powerchord and then only octaves during the pre-chorus. Finally, only powerchords during the chorus. I loved that this clip had almost entirely just Ray in the mix, as well as clear visual shots of fretboard, so you can clearly isolate what he is playing. Thanks! Fun fact: The studio version has 4 separate guitar riffs playing at the same time during the verse which complicates how one plays it live. This is why you'll see many inconsistencies through the years of how Ray might say mix power chords with octaves and play it differently at during periods. They probably just settled on the clearer sounding and less muddled version of focusing on mostly octave chords as in this show. Original Frank Comment (ua-cam.com/video/fxJ_Q7ykDIk/v-deo.html): I find it strange how the guitarists play it live now. Frank stars the verse with an E octave chord and just plays that for 3 bars straight. Then follows that with only straight powerchords, no funny additional notes or any added octaves like many people who cover it plays it. The pre-chorus has him play the octave melody straight whereas Ray does the straight part jumping into the harmony during the 3rd and 4th bars. Finally, Frank does the main melody octave during the chorus with just straight 8th note picking whereas there is more deliberate picking and extended notes in the studio version. I loved that this clip had almost entirely just Frank in the mix, as well as clear visual shots of fretboard, so you can clearly isolate what he is playing. Thanks!
@Soulhazer I'm just a random musician nerd that likes to transcribe songs. 1000s of songs of the years to the absolute detail, full band. Part of the process of learning the ins and outs of songs, and truly enjoying it the fullest for me at least, is by transcribing not only the album versions by ear (+multitracks/music videos /tab books if available), but also looking how it is performed live and transcribing a couple of live versions to see how it has changed in a performance context. Obviously, it's one thing to record a couple of tracks for an album, but not consider how you'd play it live as you stated. The insights are fascinating to me, although I doubt most people would find much joy in the tedious process. For me, it's the process of discovery and finally figuring out a chord/couple notes that I know few know how to play correctly. I just enjoy videos that show closeup of the musicians playing. It's really educational to clearly see what's being played along with the instrument's sound that is accidentally isolated owing to recording location. Excellent video for learning the song.
