I went from drinking a 30 rack by myself at 19, to feeling like crap if I just sleep wrong. Corporate culture is crushing at times, but I never have to worry about being homeless.
This is basically the internal struggle between 14 year old me and 30 year old me. I'm very critical of capitalism and have always had issues with authority figures, but I don't want to be homeless or starve. I work for a company that treats the employees well, I have great hours and pretty good pay, and really like working with my team. I also get to have blue hair.
Volunteer at a soup kitchen or urban troubled youth place. Capitalism is at its worst when run by selfish uncaring people. If you give back to less fortunate, you're just using it to society's benefit.
Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones!! No shame in trying to survive and live well within the system you're presented with (up to a point, obviously). I agree with Stevi, when you're doing well yourself it's good to give back to those less fortunate, and make sure to vote in all national and local elections for policies that will raise the standard of living for everyone.

Compliment and reward your employees when they do well and publicly acknowledge good work, and you will get loyal employees. I'd rather be with a company that treats me well and clearly values me and my work but cant afford to pay me top dollar, than work somewhere that pays top dollar but treats me like an expendable drone.
For the end, someone representing a private equity firm should've walked in and told them the whole floor is being laid off, then the boss goes punk too

We went to a region meeting and I got heaped with praise of how well my location is doing, but all I thought was, I have constant migraines, I'm being stretched thin, this month will be worse due to a lot of our customers leaving because of the bad service of me being stretched thin (and they have). All I could think was...but I was trying to leave 😂
