I ended up using a 100 watt suitcase style of panel as a test, it produce 7.5a and we connected to a tractor out back with a low battery charge. Before sundown we were ably to start the diesel . The unit wasn't hot to the touch so it d😮nt make much sense. Three runs on this charger and it's worked as advertised for me.
You could build a little stand and set a computer fan under the unit to keep it cool and extend its life.
Overheating is not good for electronics.
