In this video Stu looks at what can only be described as a Worst Person Shooter. The Terminator Rampage an MSDOS FPS from 1993 by Bethesda Softworks. The 3rd in several Bethesda Terminator games. Watch as he suffers through janky frames, labyrinth halls, and bugs a plenty. Todd Howard may have not worked on it, but it still has that Bethesda jank!

You mention the early Bethesda Terminator game being ambitious, it really was. One of my favorite details is you can doom the future by getting John Connor to wear a condom
This made me laugh
John doesn't go back in time to become his own father, Einstein. But congrats, it takes a special kind of room temp IQ to write something this retarded. 🤡
Bethesda went from allegedly inspiring Doom, to publishing DOOM. It's funny how that worked out.
Ooh, I'm really digging the new avatar stills!
He probably has abs under that shirt.
Me too!
Same
I’m with you, that is some really beautiful looking 2d art.
Man, you REALLY went the extra mile (of broken glass, barefoot) covering so many versions of this disasterpiece. Props. MAD props.
You've been zapped with a twinkifying beam!⚡✨
No joke, as a kid, I had to choose between getting this game or DOOM. I picked DOOM - and thank god for that - but I always wondered what was it that I had missed. I used to be a huge fan of the Terminator movies and honestly, for the time, the screenshots of this game looked really good. I remember my favorite game magazine giving this a pretty bad review but I was still very curious if I had made the right choice.
Well, 30 years later, I'm pretty happy to see that yeah. I really, really did make the right choice.
I had this when I was younger. It was one of the few FPSes I could play at home openly before Summer 97 when my parents oked me playing games with gore. Sure it had issues but it also had a much better weapons selection then Wolfenstein-3D could dream of. And FPS maps being labyrinths was pretty much normal for the time period. This might be worse then many but not that much worse.
I've been watching a lot of random videos from this guy for probably a week straight.
How does his voice match his avatar so much better than his irl self?
The new 'sona art is super cute. I love it.
Glad to see a mention to the collection chamber, man is doing god's work with that website.
That new art, tho! Now this can be considered a more modern version of Reilly!
That's kinda funny how Bethesda tried to say this game inspired Doom, now today they own Doom. Crazy how things change over the years
I think it has to do with goals in the game. iD was more focused on speed and going through things as fast. Rampage seem to focus on the concept you're going through this office maze looking for parts. It seems like in the second half of the game the world is more open and you're fighting things with your assembled weapon. I do think iD was inspired by many things in the market and I'm sure ID probably gave Rampage a look and figured out what was wrong with it. The engine was horrible as you had to be in a straight line with your enemy to shoot them and you couldn't do corner shots at them. Also the level has zero layout or structure and was more designed to be a puzzle than being able to drop into a level and find your way purely form memory.
"Its not A Very Brady Christmas." is a great line.
I'm genuinely surprised at the quality of this game -when like you said- it came before and after two other great games. Part of me wants to try it out of morbid curiosity but I think you explained it well enough to spare me the pain. Great video dude loving the quality too!
8:24 he's searching low and high, alright!
Also Kippy's new pics you're using are awesome! I love how fangy you are now!

Now that is some good Sarcasm voice right There, Screen record and to mp3 to mp4 Hell Yaeh
Yo, checking in for the first time in like a month or so and the new art is real damn nice.
Ya mans lookin' HANDSOME. And by the looks of things you're on a good tear with the videos, good stuff.
Operation Body Count Flashbacks
More new Stu art looking good, can't wait for more videos of yours to enjoy!
Heyyy, the new avatar has a nice style all its own. It's impressive what one can do with different styles.
Ah, good ol' Beth games. Forever interesting and forever a mixed bag.
And bless you for trying on this. I can tolerate bad framerates and jank (I mean, I actually enjoyed the latest Pokemon game) but just looking at that turning, hooooh-
I wonder what ever happened to this humble "Bethesda" I've heard so little about? I wonder if they still make games and ensure that their composers are paid adequately and in good time?
Another cracking vid, new avatars look great as well.
Lovin' the new avatar. Keep up the good work dude!
New art really turns back the clock
Minor correction: there actually is a keycard in Level 7, coordinates X:16 and Y:67. The guide was likely relying on the glitch where items respawn when you return to a floor, this can be used to skip keycards.
When you look at Terminator Rampage long enough, seeing Terminator Resistance is unbelievable.. .really reminds u of what you may now take for granted
CALLED IT!!!
Also, love the sona-refresh!
The best part of Terminator Resistance is the world, it looks like as it has to be, and the worst part is you have to regularly use a vision where you can't see that world.
This was my favourite channel. I can’t believe it’s gone 😢
Your new vectors are goddamn adorable
I agree!
New stills are more adorable, but old stills are cooler and have more character.
I remember that game. Had the worse map ever.
Game ran decent for me on a Pentium 2, Voodoo FX card and Windows 95.
I bet you need to run it on that Windows platform.
"They call him the Seeker"
I was gonna make a joke about searching low and high, but you can't do that in this game.
Don't worry. We still have coloring books, you're not that old.
The nerve Bethesda had to say they inspired Doom is absolutely hysterical because it's more likely someone at id looked at this, thought the idea was there but the execution was horrid.
Terminator Rampage is one of those projectile vomiting games
At least no one made a game based on Dark Fate.
Being fair, maybe it did inspire Doom. Just it inspired them to what NOT to do in their game, and if this game helped stop Doom from being as bad this game is, got to give them credit for that. 😉
I remember Robocop Vs. Terminator on the SEGA Master System. That certainly was some degree of game.
The game over scene was the best part of this game.
Neat new design Stuart!
I had to thumbs up for the 'The Who' reference
Bethesda made this? Looks like something Capstone, the Pinnacle of Entertainment, would've made. Thank God Terminator Resistance released. It was good, especially considering the devs previous game was Rambo The Video Game.
Here's hoping Robocop Rogue City turns out great too.
Bring back 3d Stu also great video. I love the concept of this game if it ran better I bet this game would have been remembered
3d Stu was ugly. I like hand drawn Stu
@@thecoolcario9048 I'm starting a bring back 3d Stu since people complained lol
@@Mr_1Ballwhale reeeeeeee
I like the new 2D stills! And of course, the review is funny and well-written. XD
Your voice fits your sona perfectly! 🥰
I managed to beat this game. It was a horrible slog, but at least the ending was kinda cool!
Look at the bright side it just works I mean look at it 16 times the detail
Inspiration can come from a good source or a bad source. You mind will think, "I wanna make that!" or "I can so do better than that." Guess which one Id thought.
I thought Gloom on the Amiga was the worst FPS. At least this game is lot more interesting to play than Operation Body Count. It sucks that the game doesn't restart the level like most FPS games at the time. Those infiltrators remind me of the Angry Video Game Nerd. We could use a remastered version of this game in the future.

Bethesda did the SNES Shin Megami Tensei thing???
Shin Megami Terminator
Many games did it before Shin Megami Tensei, The Atlus version of Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei did the same thing on the Famicom and that was inspired by Wizardry.
@@costby1105 Huh, neat!
But Stu it did inspire Doom! It showed them everything NOT to do when making a game :D
The fact that Bethesda can make my favorite game of all time and then also make rancid horseshit like this will never cease to perplex me. How do you go from a syphilis-laced spiked horse dildo to consumers like this to the absolute god-tier Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and then back down to fucking Fallout 76?
Doom on the Super Nintendo was at least a Technical marvel on the Super Nintendo and it's levels that weren't cut were closer to the original than any port until the Xbox version. Still there are better ways to play Doom back then and especially today.
Also there still are coloring book, even ones for adults, (no not in that way).
I love this new design but I slightly prefer the old one.
Still happy with all versions, even 3D Reilly.
I want to see a video that has appearances from all designs at once.
Does Terminator Rampage run worse than Saturn DOOM and 3DO DOOM?
This is even worse than the map system MegaMan ZX
I played it completely and got all the vtac parts. The game gets a bit better once you get the vtac but it’s pretty gruesome. I think by level 15 you’d have all the pieces. The good news is the cd rom edition came with a guide that lists the coordinates to the pieces but it was still difficult to navigate. I disliked the game mainly because of the horrible turning speed and the whole maze like navigation.
the rabtsona has been deamericanized
I thought I was the only one who fucks with abandonware
Play pizza tower. You don't have to make a video about it, but you need to play it.
I second this!
I would rather he play Jazz 2.
Like the new AV, thems is some big ol' chompers.
Well, I get the format of the "angry video game nerd" so I won't be nitpicking your criticism. But I want to say what I remember about it from when it was released.
Back in 1993 this really wasn't that bad and it got bad reviews mostly because it was the time of rapid tech development and magazines loved to bash every game that wasn't built on a top notch new engine. Imagine nowdays someone bashing Zelda Breath of the Wild simply because it didn't look as good as Ghost of Tsushima, heh.
It's a very similar case as Rise of the Triad: a pretty good Wolf 3D clone, that had the bad luck to come out when Doom was released. And so noone paid any attention to it.
I like your oc it looks cool
Yeah that game was hella slow 😂 the turning was the real problem. Getting my tale light up. I was like...turn faster 😂
Great video
Honestly? You accidentally made SNES Doom look playable because of the comparison.
Yeah this game I doubt gonna get a
source port,
not if a fan want make want to remake by using gzdoom and overhaul it
have do wat better maps layout, goals and enemies ai and sounds.
I feel like Saturn Doom probably runs better.
I want DUKE NUKEM or punisher in fortnite
At least Bethesda eventually got it right with their last 2 Terminator games. Those 2 are quite good. Also SNES Doom Rules. It has most of the Doom levels, it ran at a constant frame rate, and it's music rocks. It's far better than 32X Doom.
why are you tumblerized
Crap language is not actually needed to make it a fun review.
owo
New 2D stills are crap.
Then why are you here
Do you have discord? Because I have tons of games I like to send you. System shock 2, Temtem, Prey.
