Please pray for me. I keep fasting and praying for a break through. I’m a single mother with two children both are autistic, and non verbal so taking care of my boys are a lot of work. My husband died three years ago. Unfortunately. I’m all alone. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my pre existing health conditions (Lupus) and (heart disease) I was denied my religious/medical exemptions. I’ve been struggling to pay bills and keep food on the table since. I’m so ashamed of my situation. I’ve been mocked and laughed even accused of lying simply because I post comments asking for prayers. It hurts. I’m already so overwhelmed over my situation and to have christians be the ones that mocked me makes it hurt even more. My circumstances hasn’t been easy especially since I am all alone. I want to give up because I’m overwhelmed but my children need me and my faith in God is too strong to quit. I have faith God will change my situation and prove abundantly. Please keep me in your prayers.

You two are some of the only pastors I have heard speak the truth about the Gospel.
Virtually every "pastor" I have experienced, has preached either a works based false message.. OR have a confused, double talking preaching of the Gospel.. where they KINDA preach the Gospel, but lay burdens upon people to DO to be a Christian and "give your life to the Lord"..
Of course it is ALL subjective.. it ALL serves the interests of THEIR "church".. a little yeast leavens the whole batch.. God Himself is pure.. He speaks simple because WE are simple... and He isnt the author of confusion.

I agree that following Jesus is not the gospel. The gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is the gospel. We are supposed to trust in Jesus for our salvation, not in our efforts to follow Jesus. However, this does not mean that following Jesus is unimportant. We are supposed to follow Jesus; it is supposed to be top priority.

Jesus is one in essence with the Father and the Spirit. The scriptures are "God breathed" and that includes those portions written by the apostle Paul. Therefore, we do in fact "need" Paul as the Holy Trinity chose Paul. I can't believe some of the things I read on social media. We need to be more diligent about our doctrine.

Amen. I would also say that Jesus was instructing His disciples of what was to come. Where was Jesus going with that cross? And what was the purpose of that cross? Jesus was going to His death, and the cross was the instrument of that death. In order for us to be born again, we must first die.
Romans 6:3 - Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
We died with Christ. We all must die and be born again. Christ died, and then rose. And so too, we died with Him and we too will rise. I think this plays a lot into the message of picking up the cross and following Christ. We are following Him to our death. We died with Christ when we believed. And so too we will rise with Him on that Day.

Those who do not follow His commandments have build their houses on the sand as opposed to building it on the rock AKA Christ. Following Jesus is the result of accepting the gospel and not the means. Faith is the root and good works is the fruit.

I have a different understanding. I believe there are two gospels. I know that sounds crazy because that is not what we have been taught our whole lives. But in scripture there is the gospel OF Jesus (the gospel he and the disciples actually taught) and there is the gospel ABOUT Jesus (the gospel others taught about him and what he did for us and belief in him).
What gospel did Jesus preach? Jesus taught to repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent from what? Sin. What is sin? Sin is lawlessness (breaking God's law - 1 John 3:4). What is the opposite of breaking God's law? Keeping God's law. This is what Jesus and all the prophets told us over and over to do, obey God's law. And of course this needs to be done in faith (Hebrews 4:2). And we know the disciples taught this gospel as well (Luke 9:6). They had no clue Jesus would die for people's sins until later. And why is telling people to repent good news? Because when they repent they can be an obedient citizen in God's kingdom.
Then there is the gospel about Jesus and believing in him. Yes, we need to believe (faith is a better word because even demons believe) in him, there is no other way to the Father but through Jesus. Faith is how we receive initial entry into God's kingdom. It is a free gift and there is nothing we can do to earn it. We all know this so I don't need to go into any depth here.
It is a real shame that more churches don't preach about what Jesus preached as his gospel - the gospel OF Jesus. Most leave out half of the story. God bless everyone!
    1 John 3:4 (NASB)
4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
    Hebrews 4:2 (NASB)
2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.
    Luke 9:6 (NASB)
6 Departing, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

I think Bible stresses both sovereignty of God and responsibility of man.
Faith and repentance is from God yet we also commanded to believe and repent.
God who works in us, yet we also called to work out our salvation.
To follow Christ is our duty in the Gospel of Christ Jesus. If we're not follow Him, whom we will follow? Our sinful self or the world? God forbid.
We walk in Christ by His Spirit in us. To God be the glory.

    John 15:1-6. Ephesians 2:8-10

  • @NicholasproclaimerofMessiah

I disagree on this one. I certainly agree that Lord Jesus is crushing self-righteousness and any inkling of one's own works contributing to salvation. But, taking up one's cross and following Christ means to follow Him into His death and resurrection, which is done by grace through belief. Know ye not, brothers, that so many of us as are having been submerged into Jesus Christ are having been submerged into his death? So, as many of us as have been submerged into Christ Jesus, have taken up our cross and followed Him; we have surrendered our self-righteousness by grace through belief (there is no other way).
The hearers at that moment, did not yet have the context of the cross and death and resurrection of Lord Jesus, but they received it soon enough.
John chapter three explains how this refusal to die to self is the motive for unbelief:
"He who is not believing is judged already. And this is the judgement, thus: that the light has arrived into the world, and the humans loved the darkness more than the light because their works had been toilsome, because whosoever does bad hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works may not be refuted/corrected. He, who is achieving the truth, comes toward the light so that his works may be made apparent thusly: that they are having been worked in God."
See the disowning of the works? It becomes apparent that his works are not his own, but instead they are by grace. It becomes apparent that there is no self-righteousness to speak of, but only the righteousness of God Himself.
This is in context of Lord Jesus specifying to Nicodemus that he and the other Pharisees had not yet been born from the top. Nicodemus knew the topic was not literal earthly birth; when he asked if a man can climb into his mother's womb and be born again, his point was that he and the Pharisees were already God's people, so how can they be made God's people again? Lord Jesus specified that they must believe in Lord Jesus Himself; He used the serpent in the wilderness to convey the precise way in which God loved the world: "[in the way in which Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness] in that way God loved the world, plus He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever is believing in Him may not perish but instead may have everlasting life". The reason people do not become persuaded of the Gospel, is not because it has not arrived into the world, but it's because they're invested in their self-identity which would be destroyed by the Gospel. Nicodemus did not want to understand that he had never known God and had never loved God. Nicodemus could not be saved unless he took up his cross and followed Christ. For Nicodemus to become saved, he needed to be submerged into the Lord's death so he may raise with Him in newness of life. The words that Lord Jesus spake to him were Spirit and life; by God's grace, through belief in that Gospel, Nicodemus died to that self-righteousness.
In the context of the passage, to make following Lord Jesus to be about works, is to be the wise and prudent from whom the Father has thankfully hidden the truth. By grace, through belief in the Gospel, such an one may have his eyes opened unto newness of life. God does this for those who, by grace, have been elected to have hearts which ask not for serpents and stones but rather for fish and bread; these hearts are the good soil spoken of in Luke chapter 8; they are the lost sheep.
We cannot indulge the error of making the passage about works. Meeting error halfway is not the way to correct it. The passage means what it means, and we need to teach that clearly and correctly.

Jesus’ call to “take up your cross and follow Me. Here are some things that might happen if you follow Christ.
      - Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your closest friends?
      - Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means alienation from your family?
      - Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your reputation?
      - Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your job?
      - Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your life?
In some places of the world, these consequences are a reality. Many Christians in the world today are martyred, but notice the phrasing of the questions: “Are you willing?” Following Jesus doesn’t necessarily mean all these things will happen to you, but the disciple of Christ must be willing to suffer loss. Are you willing to take up your cross? If faced with a choice, Jesus or the comforts of this life, which will you choose?
Commitment to Christ means taking up your cross daily, giving up your hopes, dreams, possessions, and even your very life if need be for the cause of Christ. Only if you willingly take up your cross may you be called His disciple (Luke 14:27). The reward is worth the price. Remember that, as Jesus called His disciples to “take up your cross and follow Me,” He, too, bore a cross. Our Lord led the way. Even some of his disciples walked away because they were not willing to pickup their cross. They were not willing to suffer loss.
      John 6:66
After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.

Sorry ---Jesus fulfilling the law do not earn or provide anyone salvation. Jesus fulfilling the law give Him the "authority" to die so that His death could be a substitute for you. If keeping the law was the do all and end all why did Christ, the on top of that, have to die. No, it is the "death of Christ" that provides salvation. Just to keep clear on our biblical doctrine

When they were commanded to follow Jesus, they committed their lives into His hands, leaving everything to follow. He said,” blessed are the poor, blessed are those who hunger now, for they would be filled”. If they followed Jesus then they would be forsaking earthly goods, comforts etc. It would eventually lead to death for most of them for they would be crucified like Him.

When Jesus began with those blessings, He wasn't speaking of people who did those things. He was talking about people who were given those things by God through grace alone and recieved by faith alone in the finished work of Jesus alone. He is describing those who come to true faith. They were poor in spirit- they are the ones who understand they do not have a righteousness of their own and they look to Christ to find righteousness through Him. Jesus is describing those who have been born again by the Spirit, they have been blessed with righteousness. Also their sin has been atoned for because our sin is also credited to Christ. Jesus is describing His people- those who believe and trust in Jesus. They repent because of what God has done- it is the fruit of the true identity of those whom Jesus is describing.

I don’t want to rude Guys but ur too technical and on top of that u have confused not only ur audience but urselves. The Gospel is a message of past events and yet it is an eternal message ordained before the foundation of the world by God. No you don’t receive the Gospel you receive the focus of the Gospel which is the ‘mono yenon’ of God, Jesus The son. And when we accept Him and His message of Salvation by the regenerating work of the Spirit we are His and yes we follow Jesus from here to Eternity. But the very things u mention at the beginning of ur podcast ‘which u say ur not doing’ No actually you are doing!!!! Why don’t u humble urselves and stop trying to be sooooo theological. Brothers in Christ I’m sure u have great and good motives but it’s just too much. No ones that Spiritual sorry. Learn to accept the measure of grace God has given u both and work within those parameters. With a Title like this:
Here's a question from the Holy Scriptures that must be addressed to you two.
    A. Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?
    B. How were you baptized?
    I'll wait...
    In the meantime,
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
    Mark 1:14-17 (KJV)

    2. Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

      How were you baptized?
They did not say that they were baptized in the name of JESUS CHRIST.
Therefore, They were not in The New Covenant, Because they had not received the shed blood of the New Testament from Jesus Christ through baptism.
They didn't have the Spirit of Christ, so they didn't belong to God.
This was the problem with believers then. (Acts 19:2).
This is the problem with believers now.
They have faith but it is dead without works. (James 2:18)
The different between the believers today who have faith in Christ but in this life only is that they are men most miserable.
They don't have Christ in them and they will not enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5-7)
      But...
The men at the Church of Ephesus in 54 A.D. is that they heard the word of God which brought them the faith (Romans 10:17),
then they got up and got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and their sins were washed away (Acts 22:16)
They received the Holy Ghost speaking with tongues and prophesied receiving the Spirit of Christ and then they belonged to God. (Acts 19:6)
These folks today remain disobedient and won't be baptized buried in water in the name of Jesus Christ.
And they don't have the Spirit of Christ so they DON'T BELONG TO GOD (Romans 8:9)
Until they get saved. SIT DOWN !!!

They will be my people, and I will be their God.

24:30 that's not biblicism, it is just bad exegesis. The meaning of "eternal life" depends on the context. It does not always describe going to heaven after we die.
Biblicism is a term used to describe an approach to biblical interpretation that regards the Bible as the exclusive source for formulating Christian belief and practice. Consistent biblicists use the Bible, and only the Bible, for their authority and source of knowledge.
Also, not biblicists are the ones using the "mystery"-joker, no, that's what Calvinists are known to do with the bible.

What does Jesus teach in the book of Revelation? Those that endure unto the end will be saved in the end. John 14, 15? James 5:20? Jeremiah 18? If God's people would have followed HIs Ways they would be used as vessels of good, otherwise they'd be used as vessels of dishonor. Their choice...His sovereignty to give men a choice. No one teaches God is not all knowing and powerful, but just as Hea gave Adam and Eve a choice, so we have a choice to disobey or obey. Gen 4:7 ? God said if Cain made his offering with a bad attitude, otherwise He would've accepted his offering. The purpose of 1 John 1:9 is giving us a way to turn back to Christ when we fail, praise God. It keeps us humble when we see how we fail, and it gives us hope and increases our faith when we know HIs grace accepts our genuine repentance. You may possibly be confused on what the Bible teaches as you seem to read quite a volume of men's books. This is the big mistake that creates isms and divisions in the churches.

You suggest that the work on the cross is not enough. The last words out of Jesus' mouth was 'It is finished'.
Once saved you are justified and righteous by status just as you were not righteous by status before you were born again. In either case, we have nothing to do with this in our own strength. We just accepted the invitation to have faith.
The only commandments we have in the NT is love thy neighbour as yourself, and love God with heart, mind, soul and body. That simply means : forgive others as God loved us and to serve the church out of love for God and love God above and beyond anyone else, including all idols, all family etc. All of this is an act of worship.
In practice we should not deny Christ in face of persecution, our regnerative spirit should change us with prayer into a witnessable new creature. Doing anything to earn grace is to do in your own strength what is unachievable, it denies the Gospel's power and witnesses that you don't have faith in the first place. Anything that resembles own strength repenting of individual sins, confessing them, striving and stressing to do good and failing and feeling unsaved by failure and doing better ad infinitum etc. is just Lordship salvation.
That is how I understand all of this.
