Ah, another character in the Atomic Shrimp Cinematic Universe. Long live Spatula Grime

Spatula Grime sounds like the name of a hardboiled victorian era detective. Love it!
Or a metal band.

I thought he/she was a relative of the mathematician.
Sure they had a Peel session in 1984 😆 🤣

Very nice of them to specify that a *real* account was created. Far too many services these days omit that bit of info.

A key thing that would be worth highlighting about the 'Unsubscribe' link here is that some email clients will find any link with text 'Unsubscribe' and add a nice official-looking (it is generated by the email client, after all) ribbon above the email, with an unsubscribe button. They don't tell you that the way that works is by just making that unsubscribe button point to _wherever the link in the spam email_ pointed to, so people who otherwise wouldn't have clicked a link _in_ the spam email will end up clicking the obviously-built-in-to-the-client button, not realising they're doing exactly the same thing.
I didn't know about that. I will mention it next time the opportunity arises
My email does a really good job of sending scams to spam but this is REALLY important, thank you. I had no idea
@@ubiquitouscelery This is how I cursed myself with hundreds of spam email a day. I don't know why email clients thought it was a good idea to include this feature on emails _already automatically placed in the junk folder._ All it leads to is people pinging spammers when they otherwise wouldn't have.
I like the idea that JK Rowling was being interviewed on BBC News At 10, a live program, and someone apparently tried to stop it from airing. Not sure that logic quite works.
as a citizen of the united kingdom i was dissapointed that this chnance was withheld
It's Britain, they would shut off the broadcast if a few autogynephiles whined on Twitter.
If JK Rowling is 46 years old, she must've had a hard paper round
sounds like something bbc would do
It would've been easy to stop it from airing if Neville hadn't knocked over all the world's time turners.
Reading the Sum really made a difference in my life. It's now an integral part of my news consuption. They do everything in their power to give you a differentiated view on various topics. It's the only outlet that counts sometimes. In other word, their articles just add up.
They have somewhat divisive editorials, at least that's my take-away.
@@jonathanrichards593 I don't know - I find them exponentially superior than others which seem to denominate this area. The fact that they get right to the square root of the issue gives them absolute value to me.
Well, Atomic Shrimp has got to the root of that article, and it's definitely irrational.
😂😂😂😂😂
honestly, i think the absolute value of their articles is 0. all a bunch of nonsense
It's funny how often scammers these days try to get ahead of the obviousness of them being a scam, by telling the victim that everyone else messaging them are scammers and that _they're_ the only legit one.
You dont find that extremely reassuring?!

For whatever reason the funniest part of the first article to me is the supposed expert claiming "Making money from home is only a dream." I don't know if they've heard about this little event that happened in 2019-2021, but there's a good amount of us now especially in tech who can attest that making money from home is pretty similar to making money in an office building.
Especially considering the guy is claiming to be a journalist. A profession that had already started working mostly from home even before the pandemic ever hit.
@@ulch11 Was that the article with no journalist byline (name), but still had headings with MY TIPS TO DO X. Because that's super convincing too.
And it's about time. I was upset that my online statistics class I took at community college wasn't accepted at my school and I had to retake it, and then I graduated June 2020 and my last few classes were online, I bet they would have accepted it after that. Depends on what you're doing, I work in events so some of it is not over a computer.
See, there was a very good reason why that spatula was badly designed. If it hadn't been, the world would not have Spatula Grime. I hope we see more of her.

I like to imagine that when the scammers stop responding it is because they realize the error of their ways and decide to become astronaut doctors, or form a hero rescue crew. Makes me feel better about the world.
So I typically have the scambaiting playlist on in the background sometimes when I'm doing something else (kinda like listening to music but instead I'm listening to scambaiting hijinks...) so I've pretty much internalized the majority of them by now. I couldn't help but notice that the message at 21:27 sounds INCREDIBLY similar to the one at around 7 and a half minutes into the Scammers Who Dumped Me Pt. 3 video. Even the amount is the same! Seems they used a similar script. Just something i found kind of interesting.
Might even be the same scammer (although I think I used a fake address in the same street for the previous bait of this scam, which I would think they might remember).
Scammers buy and sell their scripts to each other, and steal them too
@@AtomicShrimp so upon watching this video again i realized you already said that the emails you were baiting this time were similar to ones you've done in the past.
Whoopsie, I guess I just wasn't paying sufficient attention the first time...
@@AtomicShrimp the idea that someone heard that script and thought it was so convincing they bought it off the creator is amazing
I had a great call today from HMRC telling me to call them back by pressing one, so I pretended to be a 95 year old man that needed a hip operation for over an hour and they ended up telling me I was going to have agents calling to take me into the prisons they are calling me back tomorrow to speak to my helper because I am too old and cannot see the words on the screen, can't wait.
Oh my God, please update as soon as possible. This is absolutely brilliant
@@karlducas4833 they called back and I pretended to be an angry grandson and even though I was blatantly telling them I know this is a scam they just kept telling me "sir your grandfather is in serious trouble with the crimals law" I kept them back and forth for about ten mins though was fun.
Atomic Shrimp: “Just bring the scams to me. I have skills.”
This is the earliest I’ve ever been for one of your videos!! You inspired me to start scambaiting, and I’m currently 150 emails deep with one scammer, and they just keep going
I like your game. I do it with fake calls. It’s actually fun. I use an old phone and cheap SIM card.
Something to do while I do chores. I just keep them waiting and tell them sorry I’m slow I was in a car accident but it’s ok as my insurance just payed me out. You should hear the stuff they ask.
Iv had them raging. What’s good is because they send your number on to other scam companies.
So it’s just a roll on effect. Better than watching soaps with my girlfriend I go out and water the garden and wind them up.
@@imdaprophet oh currently I have one scammer trying to give my character (Millicent) medical advice. Also he recently changed the fee from $100 to $4500
@@QuantumBoogaloo I like. Keep wasting there time. As long as we have them on the phone or replying to emails it’s time they can’t scam other innocent people.
Plus it’s fun for us.
Keep up the good work the scam baiters.
I had a fun one during summer. I gave the scammer a choice, either show me photographic proof of the ATM card or he would have to wait until it got dark where I was… only that I lived at the very north of Norway where it would take months before the sun went down.
He actually kept coming back to me until he rage quit after about 300 emails.
I miss that scammer. I might ping him again to see what he’s up to.
god now i wanna start scambaiting with an alternate persona, any tips
I know something the last scammer doesn't. In the USA at least, a Visa card number always starts with a 4, and a MasterCard with a 5.
I think it’s the same all over the world. They often use old versions of logos as well so just keep up to date with that and it’s easy to spot.
I've been having a delight stringing along a scammer lately, based on your techniques. I literally dropped this guy four months ago because I got busy and he jumped RIGHT back on the hook as soon as I sent a new reply. I don't think anything I do will make him realize I'm screwing around.
Loll! On every instagram video to get ur account back the replies are full of scam bots and those insta gram hacker bots so its funny when people bait them

Beautiful. Convincing.
A family member of mine got scammed recently... We need more people to be educated on this. :(
The problem of scamming is not limited only to email or phone scamming. The problem is general, that people's natural critical thinking skills are getting weaker. It makes it easier for the real scammers, like politicians, and fake news media to operate.
And I will say it has not anything to do with IQ, Critical thinking skills are special in the way that they are based on thinking about what you are doing before doing it, which doesn't really involve IQ. Anyone can do it.
I have done a little study, which indicates, that the higher the education, the less critical thinking skills. Which indicates to me, that public education is the main problem here. Children from very young age are teached simply not to think, but to obey.
@@AntiAtheismIsUnstoppable Then your study is flawed. Education and intellectual skills are directly correlated under most circumstances.
@@AntiAtheismIsUnstoppable Your profile also makes it very clear you are a person lacking the ability to think at all, let alone critically.
@@jamesharding3459 I have a question then. Would you force an unknown fluid with unknown side effects into the body of your child?
See, critical thinking skills are not skills that come with birth, and certainly not via public education.

So you've got Justin Trudeau, various counselor officials, minister from Togo and sundry other illustrious individuals madly scrambling to send a gigantic cardboard box stuffed with pound notes to the UK. Or Brazil. Or the United State.

Also, I think that's a screengrab from a video from the Dobre Brothers, one of the most insufferable channels on this platform.
I know someone very close to me that works at Bank of America. Currently there's a very high volume of people making fraudulent claims in the California Unemployment using other people's identities. My elderly mother had a robocall a few weeks ago from the "Visa Mastercard billing department" about a suspicious charge - good to know that particular script took a few months to get down here to Australia.
