- What's up Bros?! We watched RHOSLC episode 2 and this season is off to a great start! In this episode, we're still dealing with the fallout from Whitney at the Besos party. Bronwyn seems to be team Lisa and says some disparaging things in the car with Heather and LB. But later... has a similar (yet different) conversation with Whitney and then a third conversation with Angie K. where she actually says some things against Lisa. It seems as though Bronwyn came in with a game plan and she is moving through the group setting herself up. Britani is a full blown wild card. She has issues with her children as she tries to navigate her relationship with Jared Osmond. Angie and Lisa are on the outs because LB wants an apology from Angie, but Angie is fed up with bending the knee to Lisa. We may finally have a season where someone stands up to Lisa and doesn't give in. Things escalate after the ropes course trip and Britani makes a bizarre toast. Mary (who is giving more this season than she ever has) does not care for Britani and makes it known. Bronwyn jumps on to add more and says Britani needs to think about her words before speaking. Heather says Bronwyn could do the same, but the entire group comes to her defense. Is this the Jen Shah affect all over again? Does the wealth and glamour of Bronwyn's life make her the cool new rich kid in town?

Bronwyn is definitely an MVP. She’s what this show needs after Monica. I loved Monica, but Bronwyn is, like you said, what a housewife for these shows is supposed to be. She’s fashion, rich and there’s something about her that exudes confidence. I think she has the ability to go toe to toe with these women and she hasn’t come off messy. I mean that’s only two episodes so we will see.
As far as her house goes, she seems to love every color. Hopefully her designer can pull it all together.
Britani doesn’t know what she’s in for. Her toast was weird because these women don’t know her. Mary said what we were all thinking. Does Jared know they’ve broken up 16 times? Does he know they’re dating? I think she is nice, but is socially awkward and know how to be a person on her own.

the implication is still not an insult. And you can see where the confusion occured.

To be poor in something at any point is not only insulting to some, but it’s a judgement of character. If people believe they are poor in something they need to work on their gratefulness. OMG Steel! I literally just had to rewatch that scene with Mary and Britany after your convo with shooter. Mary NEVER said, “they didn’t have enough TO GO AROUND.” She said, they never Had ENOUGH. Like she had 5 siblings and they ALWAYS wanted more. The opposite of poor! And Poor Britney, trying desperately to relate she didn’t let Mary finish her point (of course Mary not the best or eloquent speaker.) She quickly assumed she was a “a hoarder or POOR.” Hope this clarifies. Assuming Mary grew up poor without that coming out of her mouth was bad for Brit Brit. But she was just trying to relate. Love you both

@@bravbrospodcast it’s not. To Mary it is apparently. I also genuinely believe Mary has some sort of social personality disorder (idk if that is a thing). But she says the wrong things at the wrong time. Sometimes funny. Mostly rude and cringy. Like I’m ashamed to watch her…like her brain processes things differently

Mary says she uses owning things to fill the void of her lack of family relationships, especially with a neglectful mother, so being called poor is likely a trauma trigger (it's like being singled out for being lonely). Britani crossed a line, even if it comes from a place of ignorance, she comes off as clueless and self-absorbed. Who toasts their own internet relationship status? A woman who, based on first impressions/from Mary's perspective, chose men over her children, like her mom. Part of healing from cptsd is learning to set boundaries and validating your own emotions to be able to process them. It doesn't mean you shouldn't be receptive to feedback, but only from trustworthy sources. Maybe Whitney would be open to it if they weren't all piling on.
@@MaximumDull well that's actually really insightful. How many of us can own our own ish like that? I think her mean girl energy is coming from a place where most people's mean girl energy comes from, and that's a self defense mechanism. Not that it's okay , but it is what it is.
I only really got on top of my own mental health in the last few years, most of which stems from intergenerational abuse/trauma. I feel like people doing commentary, especially on rholsc, which has prominent aspects of religious trauma, ought to factor this into their framework for understanding how these women cope with conflict (especially when shame is involved). They will get incredibly defensive, like you say, and anything people are ashamed of gets repressed, so they never had the opportunity to reflect on and practice responding to it.

Brittani's not really boyfriend is not Donny Osmond's son. He's not even the son of one of the Osmond Brothers who Donny grew up singing with and who had a long residency is Branson, Missouri when Donny and Marie did their show in Las Vegas. He is the son of one of the oldest Osmonds. The two oldest Osmond siblings are both deaf. I can only imagine how weird it was to grow up in a show biz family in which you can't really participate.
11:07 do you think by “not enough to go around?” Marry meant love and attention. Because we need to remember that she married her rich preacher, grandpa.. so I think the money was always there, right? They did not go without. But she definitely was acting out / only out for herself by marrying her grandpa bc on her first season she said her mother was supposed to marry the grandpa when her grandma died but she swooped in probably looks like a younger version of her grandma

That man is not Donny's son. Donny has 2 older brothers, who were born deaf. and his Dad's name is Viril. So, 2 older brothers, the 5 Osmond brothers, Marie and don't forget that sassy little Jimmy! I use to watch The Osmond's when I was a wee one and they were always shoving "Little Jimmy" into everything!!! I think he was a one hit wonder during the 70's. I know, boring useless knowledge!!!
