Cheers for the vid mate, just did this mod using the LED's you linked, what a massive difference! For a $6 10 minute job I can't believe how long I was driving around with basically no dash lights 😂 cheers again legend 👍
This afternoon I fitted LEDs from Jaycar into my D22's dash. They're ok. The old ones silvered up so it's a slight improvement. I'll try the ones you recommended.
I went to LEDs from jaycar after trying the ones in this video. There are different grades of LEDs and some don’t cope with heat and begin to flicker. Might be worth looking for some of the higher grade (I think 5050 LEDs are the good ones) and install them 👍🏻
@@ReubsModifications Wasn't happy with the Jaycar ones, could hardly see them. Replaced them today with JW Speaker brand LEDs. Way brighter. Got them a bit cheaper through work, cost about $3.60 for the pair not sure what they retail for. I'll see how they go. 👍
I have a different cluster (03 yd25 euro model) with blue paper behind the needles and you dont need pliers for the lights, you can easily twist them by hand, can be a bit stuck at first though since this might be the first time they've been removed in 18 years 😆

Hello man. First of all thank you. I just changed my gauge lights. Now sir, i wanna ask what is the size of the the the front park light of nissan d22?
Bro, at first thank for your video, really helpful. Unfortunately I damaged one of the sockets and i can’t find in any store one of the same model to replace . Could you give me a hand where find these brown sockets?? I tried repco but they don’t have it?
Thanks mate I’m glad the video helped. I have damaged mine slightly as I have tested many types of dash lights but I have not managed to find any replacements. You could buy a used dash cluster for the sockets. Or if you need one you can swap the high beam socket for one of the dash lights👍🏻
I got a pack of these lights for mine. . Worked good but after a few days or sometimes couple weeks the lights would start to flicker on n off and eventually blow out! Got sick of pulling the cluster out all the time to change them. Bought some t5 wedge led lights in the end that are like Parker lights for headlight, so far so good and haven’t had to change them

One you pull the socket, grab a set of needle nose pliers and grab the bulb you can either break it and pick out the parts or wiggle it back and forth until it loosens up. I was able to get them out without breaking them but it’s different for everyone, best of luck 👍🏻
Keep wiggling the bulb with a pair of pliers, you could probably even put a bit of penetrating oil in the socket but try and wipe it out after you get the bulb out 👍🏻
@@ReubsModifications my friend crushed the bulb and took out the remaining peaces. Was really easy doing it that way. But if you want to keep the bulb thats not a good idea 😅
Hey mate I haven't changed the light for those however if there is a plastic socket behind those indicators then you should be able to change it just like the other lights.
I did this with a 2014 navara and found my dash cluster did not have bulbs that I could replace, my mistake was unplugging the cables (wiring harness x2) at the back, now my guages are not reading correctly (sitting below zero) I have done the guage test and all needle's move but are well below where they should sit.
That’s strange I’m not familiar with this issue, must be a late model issue with the different clusters. I’d try unplugging and checking that the plugs are clean and then disconnect the battery for a couple minutes and see if that helps
I have a 2010 D22.. the back of my dash cluster looks a bit different to the one in the video clip.. can you shed any light on this.. ?? Is it a different set up?
