What broken tool have you fixed?

Last week a screw in our 40-year-old Craftsman router broke when hubby was changing bits. We were both heartbroken as it was a gift from my folks after we bought our first home. Part of the screw was stuck and was too small for his smallest Easy Out screw extractor. He was determined to get it out and see if he could find a replacement at our local farm store. He tried his smallest precision and got the rest of the screw out. Thankfully when it twisted it left something for the screwdriver to grip. He took the two parts of the screw with him, came home with an exact match, and fixed it. It's as good as new now.

Thank you! I was able to replace my trigger and the blower works like a champ once again.

Thank you Steph! My wife loves the Ryobi blower and we will order the new wiring harness/switch and repair it. The turbo function was first to become intermittent, then it just quit working at all unless a fully charged battery was installed which resulted in slow starting then full speed - sometimes. Great video short and to the point.

Hello. Tell me, approximately how many minutes does one battery last?

Very smart, Stephanie. I wish more would fix things than replace them.

Thanks for the video, Steph. You're more patient than I am about Ryobi and their crappy parts quality. The switch on my Ryobi ry40408vnm blower failed after one season, just outside the warranty, just like yours. Figures! The switch only works intermittently and I usually need to engage the turbo mode to get it to work. I refuse to pay a penny for fixing such a crappy product. I'm more than capable of replacing the switch but only if they send me a new one for free. Warranty or not, they should. Otherwise, bye bye Ryobi. Hope you go bankrupt from screwing people with your lousy products! Thanks again for the great video, Steph 😀.

If you can fix it, I can fix it. Thanks. I will order the part rather than the replacement blower. I did notice that the $119 price does not include the battery and charger attachment... but I already have those.

Mine does this. Obviously junk if so many are breaking. Not sure if I want to bother fixing it.

Have you tried adjusting the depth of drive adjustment? It sets how far the nails go into your project.

Nothing mechanical/electrical but plenty of limb loppers such in one position or another, hand shears, disconnected shovel heads(replaced nail with two screws front/back), sharpened dull snippers. Stymied at Black and Decker weed whacked feed head. Prolly disassembled 3x restrung, exchange spool for preloaded spool--no go. So, the bump feed feature but looks like Greek puzzle to me. Anyway, GREAT take apart, pic of inplace old wiring for reference, source IDs for various items needed AND eagle-eye original spring in trigger! You go, girl. Always learn and sometimes try stuff from your videos. Hi to Vicki.🎉😊

If a vacuum cleaner is considered a tool I've fixed mine. I've had it 10 years and I didnt want a new one.

Less plastic in the landfill!!! Good for you! I have a battery leaf blower too and my biggest gripe is the gutter cleaning kits don't fit :( I am going to have to try and rig something or continue to use the gas one just for the gutters as getting on the roof is....ok but not if its rainy or snowy (that's the white stuff that falls from the clouds during winter here in Pennsylvania 🤣 ).
