I know that I am late, but I just wanted to point out that I have found 3 in 1 oil the most effective for lubrication of bearings. Over the time of me riding, I have noticed that axel grease, (the stuff you used first) is to heavy duty, and lubrication oil is to light. You can get 3 in one oil almost anywhere, but it works for worlds longer and better.
I watch u and scooterbrad because u 2 are the only 2 that stuck to scooter riding and not crappy trampoline vs videos (read this please)

Idk if you discovered this, but In the engine building world, we go off of friction. The thicker grease will have more friction than say like a petroleum/oil based lubricant.
If it came to trying to squeeze more speed and whatnot, you could use a thinner oil like a 0-20 motor oil. Just clean and re apply after each ride.

Best way to clean then re-grease your bearings
Take off seals on bearings
Get some acetone or acetone based liquid (nail polish remove usually has acetone)
Place bearing in acetone for 15 minutes
Dry off
Grease to your liking :)

tip-use a toothpick to put the grease in it is much neater and gets it in the bearings better
I use speed demon oil but it's expensive like 4 or 5 dollars for a few fluid ounces in a little bottle like a eye drop sized bottle

This worked for me i used a 3 in 1 oil because my bearimgs were playing up and now they are amazing

kids may have no ideah what it is (and i hope not), but I use durex lube on my bearings.. it lasts for a rediculous amount of time and depending on what type it can make your scooter smell good in the summer

Good tip on the grease but for the ultimate in bearing grease, have Steve G. contact me (he has my E-mail) and I'll hook you guys up with my secret formula Lube. Literally takes 5 minutes and for $15 you'll have enough of the ultimate bearing lube to last you a really long time.

WW E it's better than good, I developed it originally for use in electronic paintball guns. It offers the lowest drag coefficient of any grease and paintball or for any application I've ever heard of.
For bearings my formula requires one less component but it remains super slick and doesn't fly off. You know it's time to re-lube when you see the black residue which is a build up of carbon atoms.
I'm going to make a small batch and send to Steve Garlatta so he and Raymond can test it. If they love it (which I'm confident they will) I might start reselling it for you scooter riders.

I use bike wheels oil and it works really well ok I'll be honest with you it's very expensive 🤑
