“The Chosen” is the BEST depiction of Jesus, His stories, and His life we have EVER seen. It is a LIFE CHANGING series that we and our families have enjoyed immensely. So we jumped at the chance to join the Chosen’s Christmas Special that this video will be a part.

Story:
Have you ever wondered who made the Manger? Was he an average carpenter barely making ends meet? Or was he someone extra special, destined to build the birthplace of Christmas? Did he think he was carving a run-of-the-mill wooden box to hold hay for a few animals to eat? Or did he, or she, somehow know that this particular feeding trough was meant to hold something much more -- to hold Someone who would feed five thousand with five loaves of bread?
This wooden box for a time did hold hay, and must have looked and seemed simple and remarkably ordinary.
Until God touched it.
For us, this is one of the many messages of this Christmas Hymn we present to you.
“What Child is This?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing.”
This is Jesus, born in the humblest of circumstances and yet born with the ability to overcome the world. Born under the brightest star ever seen, but so meekly as to ask an obscure carpenter to carve his bed and to share it with animals. This is Jesus, powerful enough to command angels, but so concerned with the worth of every soul, especially those overlooked, that he would ask shepherds instead to guard him as he slept; a King of countless subjects whose birth would change the reckoning of time itself, and yet a homeless teacher who spent all of His time to heal the one.
This is Jesus, who can touch something entirely ordinary and make it extraordinary -- who can touch any willing soul, labeled as worthless by the world, and make it priceless.
We’ve seen this happen. This is why we believe. And why, despite so many mistakes we’ve made and so many lopsided mangers we’ve attempted to carve, we still strive to follow this advice:
“Men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He can deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, and pour out peace.” (Ezra Taft Benson)
While Jesus Christ, His story and His life mean so much to us, we don’t mean for this video to be exclusively “religious” or make anyone feel left out. On the contrary, we hope that this only brings peace, no matter who you are, where you are watching, or what you believe. We hope that the spirit of this music can transcend traditional religious lines and its spirituality can be felt by all who need a little serenity this Christmas Season.

I’ve struggled lately. I’ve struggled to find beauty. I’ve struggled to find peace in this season. But sometimes all it takes is a simple song. What an absolutely perfect and heart-felt response Bryce..I am sure that you have spoken for many people who are experiencing what you are....I too had to really dig deep to find peace in this season. One thing that literally changed my perspective this season was when my grandson got quarantined on Dec 23 for 7 days...it reminded me of how felt when I heard the news of the World Trade Centers in 2001..I could hardly breathe, I couldn't speak, I couldn't feel..I just sat there in my truck and tried to comprehend what I was hearing...forward to my grandson being quarantined...it seemed as my life just stopped, nothing else mattered, not the gifts, not the Christmas dinner, not the decorations,,,all that mattered was when I will see my grandson again. He is my life. My second blessing only to my daughter who is my first. I listened to The Piano Guys and Libera (another favorite of mine) throughout the whole time my grandson was away...I was able to find some peace, but wasn't whole again...not until New Years Day- when I got to see and hug my grandson again...at that exact point in time, I realized ....just what is important.

Emmanuel means "God with us". Jesus born to save us from our sinful nature. I pray for those who do not know Him that He will Come To Them in thisChristmas season.

My grandfather was in the Tabernacle Choir (when it was still called the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) and one of their travels was to Jerusalem. One of the places they got to sing at was where the Angel Gabriel appeared to the shepherds. He realized then that he and many of us were there before, as the singing angels that rejoiced when Christ was born. 💕✨

Hearing this video brought tears to my eyes. It's been seven years since my mother passed away, 2 days before Christmas 2013. When I was small, and she still played the piano, she would often play this song. It's what got me into playing piano myself. Hearing this made me think of her all over again. Thank you for helping me to remember something so precious.
I tend to be a practical person, so in that moment I would have brought clothing and necessities. I like to think that after arriving at the stable, I would sense the awesome awareness of God's presence and give Him all my worship.
Expressions and tears of gratitude that He left His heavenly glory to come here and live the 100% perfect life that stands in place of my wretched life, and to take God's just punishment for my sins. What an amazing Savior! What amazing grace!

To answer the question of what i would bring... a warm cozy handmade baby blanket. Likely not a perfect gift, but my best efforts, made with love, given with humility, to meet a need. Along with a warm meal, kind words and hugs for Mary and Joseph.

I've basically heard this song a million times every season, but it always gives me a sense of peace and comfort. During a season that doesn't feel like Christmas at all, listening to this sends me to a different place, somewhere safe, nostalgic, full of love and peace. It makes me feel Christmas. I don't know how to explain it other than that. Of course, in recent years what i consider to be the "sound of Christmas" is very heavily influenced by much of your music. Thank you for sharing your passion. You're sharing more than musical notes and timbres, you're sharing a message that transcends physical description.
