Lex makes my heart happy by watching her enjoy listening to good music. She was definitely born in the wrong era, she should’ve been a teenager in the 70’s when all this was happening. You two keep on exploring all the different types of music out there and enjoy. Music is the one things that unites us all together.

If you didn't get to watch this Southern Rock stream, Train Train lost on 3 polls, all against tough competition. Whipping Post, Flirtin' with disaster, and Can't you see, I think. Lex did write it down to do later. Both love Skynyrd, I'm sure they will love Blackfoot.

It was a GREAT time to grow up. The music was simple and straightforward with a meaning to the song. One thing people don't consider about the older music is there wasn't all of the technology of today to clean up the sound. They were great musicians.

Both Southern rock and British rock from the 60s and 70s were heavily influenced by the Delta Blues, so you do hear a lot of similar sounds, the guitar riffs especially.

Some of the best Skynyrd songs are the ones you never heard on the radio. Am I Losin', I Never Dreamed, Every Mothers Son, All I Can Do Is Write About it, Lend A Helping Hand, Down South Jukin', Poison Whiskey, Swamp Music, etc, etc.

I recall the day their plane went down less than 40 miles from my house. All the teenagers on my street were crankin' Skynyrd that night and out on the neighborhood streets in a weird somber celebration. I was a bit too young to be heavily into them, but I still remember my older sister's friend crying and lots of confederate flags waving.

Guys you have to check out Molly Hatchet. They were a badass Southern Rock Band. Try: Flirtin With Disaster, Dreams I'll Never See, Gator Country, Fall of the Peacemakers to name a few. If you like Skynyrd, You'll like these guys too. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO THIS BAND.

Florida alone claims five outstanding Southern Rock bands.
The granddaddy of them all, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, all from Jacksonville, and Outlaws from Tampa.

Always loved this swampy, deep-in-th'-pocket tune; maybe this & Free Bird are my faves from Skynyrd...great memories of playing this w/ our throw together union carpenter band back in '79...awesome, classic stuff...

One of my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. RIP, Ronnie Van Zant, in my opinion Ronnie was one of the best southern rock lead vocalists ever!!! Such a tragedy when he passed away in a 1970s plane crash

I agree with you 100% in our opinion he was the best number one Southern rock lead vocalist ever!!!

You cannot go wrong listening to more Skynyrd. All awesome suggestions by your fans. I'll add "T for Texas" See what they do with a 1927 Jimmie Rodgers' song. Epic. Plenty of guitar solos for Lex to bounce.
