All he was trying to say was that if you properly learn a digital in-demand skill, you will earn way more money and experience with the same effort that someone else would put into 4 years of college who ends up living with average income until their 40s... Sure, you will still manage to live as a college graduate if you work and study well and make good decisions but you need to accept the difference my friend...
Certain jobs like medicine, engineering ,law, require a full university degree. And statistics show that mean income for people with masters is greater than those with just bachelors, who have it greater than those who never went to college. And in some places like Europe & South Asia, most universities including the best ones are publically-funded.
In my case, going to college was a no-brainer. I'm doing my PhD in engineering, because I think you really can't go wrong with a strong base in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and programming. Plus, I want to be a professor in my field, which demands a PhD, lots of research experience, and high impact publications and patents. Plus, it's more than just the money: getting to work in a field I'm passionate about for the rest of my life? I can't ask for more.
Same, I’m in college to become a professor for music education. I do like to take odd jobs during my college years to make money for myself & pay off the classes I’m taking.
Currently in college pursuing a degree in psychology to be a therapist. From a monetary standpoint, it isn’t the wisest move. (Getting a Master’s degree to only make around 60k a year.) But it’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid, so it’s worth it. Some things are more important than money. Good luck putting your PhD!
if you want to pursue higher education due to passion and not money, then I agree it's an ok move. If it's to get a job and grow wealth? going to college is not a wise choice
Guys he's not necessarily encouraging people to drop out, it's beneficial to have a good education and get qualifications. HOWEVER it's also beneficial to adapt to the changing job market and pick up skills wich will increase your chances of making a good income and having a good work life balance. This isn't a this or that question , you can do both.
I hate how some people in these comments are justt hating on the video just because they think he is just trying to tell you to quit school and invalidating degrees, 1. He's not, hes just saying that for some people it may be a better option due to the field their trying to get in (that is, if your doing it for money) and how competitive and rapidly evolving the job market will be in the future, 2. There are many degrees that will always be needed in the near future such as doctors, teachers, STEM in most cases, etc. Chill. 3. This is targetted to people who are in highschool / middleschool and will go into a future job market that will look different to the one now, what may have worked for you may not work for them. 4. This doesnt factor much in of what you may care about degrees but the profit and applied skills you gain afterwards. Go talk about intelligence, enjoyment or motivation elsewhere.

There’s an interesting counterargument that I’m considering. Sure, you can learn everything on your own. Textbooks can be obtained for free. There is more than enough free information to get the equivalent of a full education in whatever field you want. You can learn it all on your own time. But will you?
Most people dont and that the problém this guys prediction is that everyone is in same mental space as him but surprisingly word doesnt work like that.
Yeah that's why AI is already doing 75% of programming. Train AI on mechanical or electrical engineering it'll start making circuit boards and systems. Practically what my friend in the video said at the start. Stem jobs will still exist, it's just that AI will destroy the demand for stem degree grads . Plus you're competing with a large pool of migrant students who have been trained since kindergarteners that stem will be the only way to success and a citizenship in the US. It's better than to learn science and engineering principles in coding boot camps or learn CAD and electrical systems with online courses. Having a basic understanding will help you work with AI in the future.
@@Hypernatural008 Although I take your point, I think you are overly restricting what STEM actually is and what you can do with the skills learned within it. The complexity of most tasks involved in STEM jobs cannot just be relegated to AI. Programming and automating circuit building are small aspects of STEM. Also, the skills you acquire in your STEM curriculum are applicable outside STEM jobs, like in management or business, etc., where you inevitably need more humans in the loop.
@@haroldmatias12 I was providing two examples of certain tasks that stem could automate. You might think that AI can't automate certain tasks, but the technology is rapidly advancing. And I also forgot to include robotics. So I take your point too. Stem degrees might not be bulletproof (as AI will ultimately dwindle the demand of entry-level jobs) but it's nice to study. Me personally, I would study stem outside of college to start a business. As I don't really need a degree to start a business.
Ultimately I don't like the idea of going to college for these things, just like the UA-camr said, you're taking a 4-6 year bet on the future of the demand of the job. Not just that but don't you think the degree will become obsolete if AI could automate a lot of these tasks? Just think of it, before the calculator, companies and militarys alike employed hundreds of thousands of people that do the math for them. Same thing with typewriters, where did they all go? And what's even worse is that AI is intelligent technology. Well it's not worse it's just going to make the skills of stem more accessible to others. Just think of it, we all used to cheat on homework with calculators.

The only way college is worth it for the vast majority of people is if you go to a reasonably priced school, do everything humanly possible to minimize education debt, major in some type of STEM/engineering/medical program and network like crazy as a student. Anything else is a waste of money.
Not everybody will agree to this but like you said its better to stay flexible. For me i started thinking about all this in grade 11. I asked myself if i was going to use most of the things i keep learn in school. And honestly you won't use almost any of this.
And again experience is the best teacher. I want you to ask yourself this. Ok imagine someone who wants to be a doctor and goes to college for 8years (4years bsc + 4years of med. It doesn't necessarily have to be a doctor. Or what of a car mechanic. Personally I don't think some mechanics went to school and started calculating electrical resistance. Most of the learnt how to fix cars by looking at what their dad was doing to their trucks 😅. And let's not forget about the debt some of us have to pay just to get a degree and afterwards getting a job that doesn't pay well. All our opinions contradict on the both sides. Just stay flexible.

In my opinion, going to college can be a 50/50 situation depending on a person’s life circumstances. For example, I believe I have a 70% chance of success if I go to college and a 30% chance of it not being beneficial. Why 70%? Because the university I attend offers free tuition, is highly accredited, and can make me versatile. However, the 30% downside is that it can sometimes be boring and feel like a waste of time, especially when some subjects are completely unrelated to my field, yet mandatory to pass. If you feel that going to college is a disadvantage due to tuition costs or because it seems like a waste of time, I suggest considering self-study and focusing on acquiring as many skills as possible.
It honestly depends on what you want to do in life. Graduating high school should be a minimum and then afterwards you either enter the workforce working your way up to better positions or go to college to learn a concentrated subject broadening your knowledge to fit certain positions. High paying professions like lawyer or doctor should be the college route but as for other positions, you can gain the skills and experience by just working. Also it's abysmal for anyone to be paying tens of thousands of dollars for college and be in debt afterwards. Price should always play a factor into which college you go to and don't be afraid to not dorm. Name brand is what these kids care about these days, but it should be about the experience and value you get out of it
Where are these stats coming from? I've worked with a ton of IT guys. They all have at least a Masters. I've yet to meet one who got his job from a boot camp.
You open a custodial account for your kid and after 18 years of funding it with $75 a week, they could have $130k with an annualized returns of 8%. At that point you could help them with tuition or they could do it themselves, but that account would grow to 1.4 million without them investing another dollar. They could retire at age 50 comfortably if they wanted to.

I don't agree with pessimistic view about universities or 4 years careers, literally depends of the person how manages graduating and getting hired. Seems in USA is groups of people literally against universities wanting people graduate from high school go to work ASAP where they are only ones with 4 to 8 years college degrees stepping on those did not went universities or went trade schools so excuse me is a load of pessimistic opinions, that don't applies to everyone across the board. Same attitude was with everyone around me when I was teenager and young adult ruining my life and university plans because those horrible people wanted to take it easy and lay back in your generations, to find out my trade/technical degree was not counted for university and I needed 4-8 years to be considered totally qualified and earn 6-7 figures salary.

Depends on the generation. Bootcamps are a somewhat new phenomenon.
None of my friends in IT have a masters.
I am an IT and have been for over 20 years. I don't have a masters and can't think of a single IT coworker I've worked with that has one either.
Self-study is sometimes the best method if you don't want to go into debt.
You would get woman regardless in college or out of it tbh. It’s about looks, confidence, money, etc.
If you take IT you can start a iptv server and finance your school with it. Its a job only if you love that.
Major rule of college- they will sell you a turd as quick as they sell you gold at the same price.
In my opinion, the thumbnail is a little predatory. It's also misogynistic, by implying that women are objects, or "toys" for successful men.
Every self improvement channels in the world works like this my friend
@@Anti_CoperI strongly disagree. I'm subscribed to quite a few self-improvement channels and none of them have this kind of thumbnail, to be honest. Not only is it predatory, it's also a bit hypocritical and rude, because I know the content creator has a long-term partner that I'm sure wouldn't want to be objectified in this way.
I appreciate these kinds of videos, but it's really not helpful to sell a before-and-after picture like that. Just my two cents.
@@helloismabye There are I don't remember name brother but there channel who make thumbnail like this to attract people and say similar things most of dopamine detox video
@@Anti_CoperJust because others are doing it doesn't mean it's right.
If my reason isn't good enough, then we can look at audience. I'm sure women will naturally be turned off by the image's rhetoric. He's probably doing himself a disservice by only catering to straight men. But what do I know?
@@helloismabyeIm a woman, but I do agree with some of your points.
You forget to mention that if you study for 5 years you actually will be smarter than the rest who just makes money and doestn care so much. And the co pány owners will actually see this and thei can give you moře money that to someone who just understands one technology and think he Made better choice than others.Because getting IT as a whole is complety different thing than just understanding one technology and the people will see it.I actually liked the video but i think that 5 mi útes videí about this is uselles this is a topic for 30 min and more if you ask me.
I cannot change the past. The future is scaring me. I don't want to take responsibility for my life but I know that's wrong. There is just too much thing to do, I can't do everything but if I don't then everything will fall apart. I don't know what do anymore.
Hey love ur videos.i am in 9th Std. I want to be a doctor, is it a wise choice according to u? Will it be revelent in 6-7years? Please tell
Yes doctor will be needed until we will have health problems so basically forever. This Guy is just messing with your head.
@@HorozakosI agree, most professional jobs especially doctor is very unlikely to get replaced by Ai soon & will remain relevant + in high demand as long as human born, live, sick, and die.
Sales is better than college
College is dead but the trades are alive
before I drop out of college, should I improve my gpa? first
what if im almost done with community college (i have 3 classes left) in construction managemeng. Should i drop out if i dont like it anymore or power through? or change my major?
I mean u are almost there, why not have the degree as a backup plan?
College builds social lives
Learning is fun but being dirt poor. Pursuing education just didnt make sense at the time. Maybe in the future when Im made with my hustle. I can study for leisure not survival.
I dont know how much true this video is for states outside of us like europe i live in eastern europe and i think this places will advance in the ai field much slower and colleges here are free
advances made in AI will be felt globally...
In Canada, you can't get most jobs without a diploma or degree. You won't even be called for interview if you don't have higher education credentials on your CV. People in this country are overqualified, everyone has too many degrees, and there are less jobs available in any field.
What a joke, maybe talk to college graduates and try community college first
almost all of my irl friends went to college.
about of third of them ended up doing some sort of programming bootcamp - and got jobs totally different than their college degree.
@@ImprovementPill why you go to college (and when) is most important
@@ImprovementPillThat actually means that for 2/3 of people it was wise choice
If your parents are forcing you to go to college, DON'T! RUN AWAY AND PACK YOUR BAGS!! I made the mistake of listening to them!
Sadly it doesnt apply to europe
Missed on this one
Does this apply to people who dropped out of HS? TwT
Study up to get your GED and then you can enroll in college or a trade school.
if you're able to get into trade school or one of the bootcamps I mentioned, it doesn't matter.
If you dropped out of highschool because you are unable to apply yourself to anything, then it does matter.
Lack of work ethic will make you unemployable
TRUTH ⭐
Survey says… no.
I am an Egyptian and our economy is collapsing and people are poor af, how can I get better for free I mean I watch tutorials but I feel I progress really slow.
Will O even make it as a front end dev?
It's dependent of title of the person who selected. For example Engineering.
bro is onto absolutely nothing
Precisely if you want to be millionaire you'll certainly drop out the college degree. OR if you want to live an average life You will go for completion of degree.
Am i correct?
Bro I am planning to write a webnovel on a site webnovel do you think that a good choice to write on?
Or work at a place like Costco. Definitely Costco's for me.
Im getting college for free but i still dont know and am very nervous for my future 💀
If it’s for free, please go! It’s better than taking out loans later on in life, also depending on where you got accepted look up majors that interest you or that you’re willing and open to learn about!
This is deeply vias and one of my haters sabotage me in my studies because I was a woman meant to wash dishes and stay in the houses is not even working what he studied in University and trade school, supported by the family but cutting grass for living, one of my biggest haters. Explained that? Everything I can do requires minimum Bachelor degree or doctorate degree and field experience.
Dont forget guys, the course he offers has the highest income for some reason, cmon guys he holds the secrets. Im all for alternatives but this is very biased without nuance
What about engineering lawyers and doctors how do you become one with out College?
You don't
Well.....i graduated.
bro did not go to uni and doing yt videos right now
This is one hundred percent true😌
I’m thinking about dropping out and begin my comic book series, but my parents want me to stay in college to get a degree for my animation major
Do not go to college for art. NEVER go to college for art. Dropout and go work on your craft. Ask your parents to support you while you create and gain followers.
You can learn animation with the right equipment without going to college. Also listen to your parents at the end they want the best for your future so taking their advice is crucial.
Yes you're correct but what if you live in shitty country like mine and you need education for scape from it, in this case is investment.
Not in my country, South Africa
That's how school system sucks

How else are you supposed to find new friends or a girlfriend if not through school, as an adult? 🥲
You can find friends and girlfriends out of college. If you have the guts. And you're also forgetting we have the internet.
