      i am in my first year, already thinking the same, should i just drop out ...

    • @OneMeInMyself
      @OneMeInMyself 3 роки тому +21

      @@angely_tio here's what I think - go on a bit longer, and see if there are parts of your studies that you like. Shift the focus of your studies to a self-study: try to figure out _why_ you feel drained. Is it because the subject didn't turn out to be the right one, because you don't like the methods, because you don't have enough friends, because you feel like there's no one to talk to about your struggles, because you don't want to study at all but we're forced by your parents, etc...? Then try your best to find solutions. For many people on their first year it is just that it's such a big change in their lives that everything feels like it's too much. But many people then go through a process of finding themselves and emerge as transformed people, who can handle university and may even strive in it.
      Then, on the other hand, if you feel it deeply in your heart that university isn't for you and you only went because of external pressure, you may want to talk with those who pressured you. Try to find solutions.
      THERE IS A PATH THAT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY! Always remember this and don't settle for anything less. But it might be really hard work to find this path, or to muster up the strength to actually walk this path.
      I hope this helps, feel free to reach out if you like to share more. 🌟
      I wish you the best!

      @@OneMeInMyself thank you so much for reaching out! i appreciate it deeply. i dropped out some days after i commented on this XD so far i think it has been very freeing for me. i think what drained me was the university itself. every second i was there, i wasn't at all fulfilled, i was constantly battling inside to say the least. the uni wasn't offering what i want and i wasn't taught anything, so i think why spend another 3 years? the second i am out, i feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. now i am studying for a test to another university that i should have done a year ago, that supposedly can be better. i know the chance of me getting in isn't guaranteed, and i risk getting one year wasted. but i don't want to be in my last years of college and know inside me this is not the path i want from the very beginning. i am still confused and lost, trying to find my way, but i suppose i need to try first in order to know. it will get better, won't it? Eventually, (maybe) someone nearby could hook you up with a job. Or job hunting could be easier when you can link them to a display of your achievements.
      As I said, depends on the skill you're advertising (and also, your proficiency at it).
      A while back, I randomly went around asking business owners for some advice with a friend who wanted to scope out her job prospects.
      They sat me down and said the same thing about advertising skills. "What can you do for me" kinda stuff.

    I'm really on the edge right now. There are not many options for me right now. College is really expensive for my mom and I just failed a second time. I wasn't a stupid kid or anything. College is just ruining my motivation to learn. I'm planning to post videos on UA-cam and look for a job until I can make money.

    This video was great. I dropped out of my community college after the first semester because, while although I liked the people I met and thought my classes were fine, it didn't feel right at all. I eventually want to be a writer/entertainer overall, and although I could spend all this money on an english degree, or take a screenwriting class, I don't have to. And after a full month( no I am not kidding) I decided to drop out and although my parents were pissed, and overall gave me the vibe that they have no faith in my choice, but I got a boost of clarity. I finally gained control over my life. I think your sentiment at the very end was well said, if you long to become a doctor, lawyer, police officer, etc. go to college. But if you aren't sure, or have a path that doesn't need college, don't waste the money just on the fact that your parents or counselors say it's the right thing to do. Make your life what you want, not what other's think you should want.

The pay was $29,000 yearly. After 5 years, I climbed the ranks and I’m a senior technician which I get pay $75,000 yearly. One of friends finished his college and got a degree, now his working at McDonald’s being a supervisor which pays $35,000. I’m grateful about the choice I did. Many people told me quitting college means your a failure, you’re never a failure and I’m an example

    I'm currently still in high school. About a year ago, I saw a video like this promoting the digital marketing course. I was a bit interested but just categorized Pill as someone trying to make money or helping out a friend. So I just kind of forgot about it. But now I've watched enough of Pill's videos and courses to realize that he truly want to help people like me. It's so hard to face reality sometimes, especially when the people you should trust (friends, family, peers) all just go with the flow. I'll definitely be looking into other options besides college. Now I just have to remember this feeling, this understanding I currently have. Right now, I feel like I can see things so clearly, but society man it just chains you right up again.

    Even if you don't wanna go to college, like society so much likes to push, you still have options. One of which is military, which isn't for everyone and I recognize and respect. But honestly, as someone who's just coming out of highschool, and has a family who taught me a lot that I need to know, such as money management skills, it's prime time for saving my own money. And while I'm in, I can learn I variety of different trades while I'm in the navy. Of course, military isn't for everyone, and it's a serious decision to make if you want to join, one which I spent most of my highschool career deciding upon. I'm going in as an E3, as I've also done ROTC.
    I don't plan on going to college, despite the military paying for it. As of now I just wanna get out there, and learn trades that could prove useful. Its something I decided upon and plan to see through.

    University is so much more than just a way of earning financial security. It is a place to surround yourself with like-minded people with a lot of resources to develop life skills that you value or find completely new interests that will help you, not only in your work life but also life in general. It is truly a place of learning and you decide what to make of your life.
    I should say that I live in a place where university is free, and I have not finished university just yet. With that said I would not be where I am today if I just went into work.
