I would love to see a video about pornography recovery specifically directed towards women. Almost all recovery resources are directed towards men, which can cause many girls to feel alone in their struggles. I imagine the shame that women feel from porn use is even stronger than usual due to the fact that society sees pornography compulsion as primarily a male issue.

I agree and support you entirely. I've known a girl from work with a pretty bad self-esteem, and she openly joked with us guys about watching porn herself. Now, that may sound fine, until you're someone like me, who can see through insanity of the society and feel the pain and suffering in people. And she was suffering, probably even worse than me or any guy that I knew.

Good healthy talk, getting out of the shadows, shame doesn't work, support and seeing the health benefits of stopping addictions of any sort is much more effective. Normalizing the fact that people that get into addictions aren't just bad people, love it.

Porn is a problem when it replaces the real thing. The issue is that you dont know when you are using it to replace the real thing if you watch it everyday. You likely find out that you are using porn to replace the real thing when you try to have real sex and your body doesnt respond to real sex with a person. That's been my experience.

@user-nj9jm1yc7u not really. My porn watching isn’t nearly as much. I used to watch 3-4 hours straight everyday! But little by little I guess. When I don’t watch porn, I get really really bad mood swings. Like uncontrollable.

I realized this yesterday. I closed with a woman and I couldn’t stay satisfied throughout the process. A mix between prn addiction and performance anxiety definitely affected me that night.
I vow now to change my ways and over come this so it doesn’t effect my future sexual relationships. I will heal from this trauma with the strength of god, and I welcome anyone else who is going on the same journey.

Not watching porn has been difficult but it's been doable. Clean now for almost 2 years. Basically cold turkey. The lingering problem is lust. I don't know if it's an L.A. thing but women here are always dressed in a way that is very provoking and triggering for me. This makes regular life difficult and frustrating.

If you're reading this and struggling please know that you'll feel better as long as you stay with it.
I was addicted to pornography for at least 25 years. It even cost me a marriage when I was in my early 20s. I was always into all sorts of stuff, but finally got tired of not being able to control my actions after I got into practicing stoicism last year. I'm on day 105 with no porn viewing. I have mastur ated a few times to attractive woman doing yoga.. But, woman are beautiful and it's okay to be attracted and turned on from time to time.
My advice from lessons learn is this:
1.) Stop the addiction. It will be uncomfortable. It will take time. It will pass.
2.) Don't search porn or finish to pixels. Its okay to see an attractive woman and get turned on - But the dopamine spike is too much.
3.) Set healthy boundaries... Whatever they may be... and stick to them. For me, if I master ate I just say "okay, no self-exploration for 2-3 days." This allows time for my dopamine to reset and my sensitivity to increase.
4.) It is most important to not do it if you're craving it. If I notice I'm planning on looking at woman doing yoga, or thinking about when to do it - I don't. That way I'm not reinforcing the neurons.
When I started, I thought that it'd take a few weeks... Then maybe it'd take a few months... Now I realize that recovery is a life choice that will never end. With the right commitment and boundaries pornography can be managed.
    Thanks for reading, good luck.

I'm grateful for you talking about your won (edit: own) experience and reasons to quit. Because I personally don't know and haven't met a person who's addicted to porn in a way where they can't work or sth. The people I've met have similar issues you seemed to have: the way they look at women, their unrealistic expectations of sex and stuff like that. Relational issues arise because porn is devaluing people, especially women. Even if you personally don't think badly of women or whatever, watching it and getting this subtle message will change your views on people. It's very tricky, especially with society backing this up (it's a market with a lot of money in it after all!) by saying "men are like this", "Men need this", "it's natural" (porn as it is consumed nowadays hasn't been around for long!) and portraying women as jealous, insecure people if they don't want their partner to watch other people having sex. It's also interesting because if this was a real life situation, it'd surely be considered as some sort of cheating, right? But because it's "only" a movie... Well. I've got a lot of thoughts on this topic and I'm just glad you're voicing some of them. It makes me feel less "outdated" in this world. My values are very important to me and it's dificult to find people who've got the same ones and are also living based on them, you know?

    • @saylorc4647
      @saylorc4647 Рік тому +2

I understand completely how you feel and think about this. I used to be completely okay with porn in relationships (I was never addicted and didn’t watch a lot), but one day it just made me really uncomfortable and made me feel like I was worthless in my relationship, and it was just really hard to communicate that to someone who didn’t understand how it made me feel.
I cant stand the thought of watching it myself and haven’t watched any in a long time out of love and respect for my partner (because I don’t need porn to be satisfied in a relationship) and so I feel more comfortable.
I don’t find it necessary and like you said, the majority of people think otherwise.

There was a man who lost the love of his life and in his heart break he got tempted to fantasize about women in time this grew to even watching pornography online first naked women then he would look at solo masterbation of women before he knew it he was watching full blown xxx pornography. An addiction was formed the tennis trophies on his shelf grew dusty and he stop competing on the tournments he would attend all over the world. Pretty soon the temptation would get stronger he would get help from support groups and stop for a few months but then the habit would grow even worse he had an unsasuable desire. He missed out on social events stopped working as he had anxiety and could not get out of his house. The man tried to stop but it consumed him he was visited in hospital and he was highly demonised and I could sense the cold chill of death surrounding him. I knew he didnt have much time until he was take to hell. He died a agnosizing death and his story was so sad and pathetic and wasteful nobody at his funeral attended. There are many stories like this all over the world where sex addiction particularly pornography has destroyed young lives as young as 10 years old. MI5 should see it as a national emergency but they dont implement change. It makes up for 30% of the internet traffic and like the man in this story reduces the capacity for work resulting in an early death.
Join us like we marched for Julian Assanges freedom lets March for sexual freedom on the 1st of January 2025 NEW YEARS DAY which falls on a Wednesday.
I pray to the God that created all of us of every faith that we will bring legislation out banning ISPS from being able to display this content and no adult restrictions will not including this hedonism again which as many ancient philosphers have warned even some poets that it will destroy society from within unlike ancient Greece despite there great wisdom and logic.
Please allow this message to spread like wild fire we have 2 28 days to orgnise this event. If your good at website create a website if your good at making sandwiches bring some sandwiches if you have capital bring your finances to London so they can be used. If you have aloud voice and are brave use your voice and write a motto or limerrick sentence or chant.
In whatever way you can contribute to making this happen today will plant the seed for tommorow. Everyone is effected by pornograpy addiciton and it is stronger than any drug out there. You might be a porn addict even better to use your strength to slay Goliath. If your a Therapist bring your wisdom and experience. If your a lawyer bring your legal wits. If your a garbage man lets take out the trash. Many sites have practical ways to reduce the consumption of porn. Most people that want to stop delete there internet history thinking they will stop this time. Most people dont have any material saved unless they are true hedonists. If your a husband wife Mother Farther protecting there family then you should also come. Remember those deathly chills dont think it cant happen to someone you love that could have ended up in Heaven. Be a blessing to others people strangers that you dont know preventing the innocent from becoming corrupted. We can do this we just need faith imagination and an unwavering desire to conqure this beast unlike William Wilberforce who helped abolish slavery due to shipping laws.
WE CAN DO THIS JOIN THE MARCH AND CUT AND PASTE THIS MESSAGE SO IT BECOMES A VIRUS ON THE INTERNET SO DEADLY IT KILLS THE PORN INDUSTRY AT THE ROOT.
I PRAY IN GODS HOLY NAME AMEN.
IF YOU THINK YOU CAN APPROVE ON THIS MESSAGE PLEASE DO BUT MAKE SURE ITS FOR THE 1ST OF JANUARY 2025 THE TIME WILL BE DISCLOSED CLOSER TO THE TIME

    Violent videogames?
    4:20 NO NO NO
There is literally no connection between violence in video games and violence in real life. None, zero.
You really need to correct this simple statement, unless you want to misguide even more people. If you see Robbaz (youtube) play games on his channel and see him do depraved things in videogame, I'm pretttyyyy sure he does not have any wish to ever even fantasize about doing those things. In the very same way I'm blasting through few triangles posing as an human npc in a game, I realize that I'm doing it because I see animation (ART), sounds (ART) and consequences (Videogame design, ART). I'm given a chance to enjoy someone's art, that is literally the opposite end of a spectrum from violence.
If I delete all my units in Age of Empires (1998) as a 5 year old, am I pushing my violence to the video game or am I wanting to hear a ridiculously voice acted scream when the units die (ART)? Obviously it is the stupid scream, and not the fact that the screen depicts a tyrannical leader, me, murdering all of his underlings.
I'm overthinking. But there is dire need for you to play video games and observe your motivations.
True violence in "violent" video games is just actual real life violence. Back in the day it was poking or pushing my brother when we still had hot-seat multiplayer. Now the violence is all verbal. And oh boy there is lots of verbal violence people are just directing at you. League of Legends, Counter Strike. Nobody gets a relief from their anger in killing the opposition. They vent their real life toxic crap just the very same way the would in real life. How? Shout and type horrible words and ill wishes upon you. Violence is hurting others. Violence depicted in games is art, even if it was the most accurate and gruesome (Rockstar's Manhunt). Nobody played that game because they wanted to slowly stab someone, they played it because it is art.
And if in one sentence you fail to disconnect "violent" video games (art) from violence you instantly make the mistake of confusing porn (art :D) from sex. I'm out.

I'm not sure whether I've kicked porn because I'm not sure what exactly counts as porn. That's part of the problem. A clear line in the sand is easier to toe but with healthy erotica versus pornography it's all degrees. How well are we empathising with the people showing themselves here? Are they feeling what we think and hope they're feeling? Are they getting to express their sexuality? How much did they enjoy filming this? Do they care about their audience or at least appreciate the attention? What did it mean to them? How do they feel, having done it? Do they regret it?
The more personal interest and connection there is, the less I think of it as porn. Whatever I watch, I don't stop watching at orgasm if they haven't finished. That would be like coming prematurely and depriving my partner. I'm perfectly aware that the other person won't notice but I want to cultivate the habit or giving them attention until they're done.
If taking the people seriously means I can't take the clip seriously any more, then it's probably porn.
What helped me was writing an erotic Novel and a few poems. I worked through the fantasies there and tried to make both psychorealistic and hot, which was hard but perhaps valuable.
