    Hey folks, I've been addicted for 16 years now and have only managed to reach 17 days for over 10 years of trying but with your help and knowledge Snipes I'll be able to leave this awful addition behind. Day 2 for me so far let's go! 🙏❤️

    Doc, i've been trying to raise and create awareness about this for the longest time. I feel i am 60% healed from this but have some time to reach normal. Thank you for this video, a qualified professional discussing this was desperately needed.

    2 months sober from daily porn use, gambling (stocks), and addictive eating patterns (under eating, overeating, and eating meals with low nutrition content).
    After 1-2 weeks of abstinence existing symptoms of generalized anxiety and depression, helped me to progress past the denial phase of grieving my permeant mental health condition and the 15-20 years of loss while addicted and while suffering in silence. As the doors to addictive behaviours are closed (and locked) be sure to m set in place activities to support recovery. This video does a great job highlighting those.
    Lastly, I did not make this change in isolation. Instead, I was supported by friends, therapist, and registry attendance of a self-help group (adult children of alcoholics).

    I quit porn, masterbation, and social media at the same time.
    I forgot when i started, but its been a while.
    The withdrawals are similar to opiate addiction, which ive beat already.
    All addictions are basically the same. So if you can beat one addiction, you CAN beat...them all. Lol

    Thank you very much for making this one. Extremely informative. I had once quit it all for 1 year and 3 months and then 6 months, fell back into it on and off afterwards. I’ve only recently realized that I need to also address the underlying issues, or else you either fall back into this addiction or replace one for another.

      One day at a time. Just stopping is not enough. YOu have to address the underlying issues that cause and maintained the use.

    Hi Dr Snipes, do you have any information on the link between the abuse of stimulant drugs like Vyvanse and porn addiction /sex addiction.

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  2 місяці тому +1

      I did not find any research for sex or porn addiction and stimulant abuse, and only found one (nonhuman) study for "compulsive sexual behavior " pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20045448/ I can tell you that a sign of a manic or hypomanic episode is hypersexuality and according to the study, stimulant use increased sex drive in rats, but those are very loose associations at best.

      This video was not porn recovery not stimulants. Watch my other videos on Post Acute Withdrawal (PAWS) and get into a recovery program that helps you learn to tolerate cravings and urges in the moment for a rich and meaningful life in the long haul.

      Im going through the same bro. We live in a hypersexulized world wich makes the mission even harder. I suggest u dive into meditation because the pictueres and porn flashbacks is the root cause of relapse in my opinion. I dont usually recommend psychadelics to people, but because u seem pretty stuck ill make an exception. Psyllociben/ magic mushrooms or mdma helped rewire my brain. But u have to develope som meditivness and do yoga beforehand, otherwise this will just leave u with an added addiction.
