I had my ragdoll Sam for almost 20 years. Amazing cat that behaved like a dog. He was indoor / outdoor cat that would ask to be let in or out. He never went too far, and never killed any creatures. He would just point at them and make funny sounds. Some of his best friends were wild rabbits. They would meet daily and romp around together. Oh how I miss him... I should have cloned him...

That’s a very cute story. But cloning him sadly wouldn’t clone his memories nor personality. You would end up with a different cat that constantly reminds you of someone you loved. We shouldn’t live in the past, and instead appreciate new experiences.
@@ferdinand.keller We got another kitty from the local shelter. This one is Lynx point Siamese... Totally different, with its own personality. But we still have Sam's pictures all around...

I also had a male Ragdoll who was an indoor outdoor cat that lived twenty years (1971-1991). Mine would leave mice or sparrows occasionally on my doorstep. I have two new Ragdolls that are litter mates. I can't let them be indoor outdoor because where I live now is inundated with coyote that I believe survive in supplement by neighbor cats and small dogs. They are great pets and I had great memories of him.

I breed ragdolls. The meowing in the box is just something babies do when they are young. The more your breeder spends time socializing them the easier of a transition. I'm just blessed my kittens normally go home to their new parents and act just like they have always been there. They do the same with them as they do with us. Sleep in the bed, cuddle on the couch and demand all of your attention lol. With Ragdolls socializing is the most important thing since they are one of the most loving breeds. If a breeder fails at this it really does affect their personality and temperament. They are darling babies. 😍. I hope they are doing well 1 yr later.

So gorgeous. I have a 3 year old chocolate point girl. I saw this survey about Ragdoll cat owners which only covers colours and not any patterns. It was about what percentage of Ragdoll colours people have. And this was the result:
40% of Ragdoll owners have a seal Ragdoll
30% have blue
7% have red
less than 5% for both Chocolate and Lilac
and only 3% for cream which is the rarest.

Seems a bit much on their first day, clipping their nails. It shows how sweet and calm the Ragdoll cat is to allow that even on their first day of a new home.

I wanted to see more of the mom cat and her other kitties from the same litter.
Yeah me too. Unfortunately I got my kittens during the pandemic, so I wasn't able to go to the kitten room and see their interactions. This is the one part that pains me. Not capturing the joy and fun they have with their brother and sister and mother. Maybe I can ask if I can take Teemo and Arya to see their mother this year. Hopefully the breeder would allow it.
But in a couple of hours there is a new video on Teemo and Aryas family tree, and seeing what the other kittens looked like in the litter!

@@TheCatButler that’s sweet, but I’m not sure if they will recognize each other. If the mother is in the same place, maybe temp and Arya will remember. But the mother cat won’t be able to remember the scent since they’re in a new home

This is my all time dream, getting a cat but my brother is allergic to them so we wont get one any time soon…
Depends on how allergic your brother is. I was mildly allergic and an air purifier helped and now I am okay with cats.

Hi again - it's good to wait because we might have a pedigree female blue bi-color fitted in Tessino, Switzerland (3.5hr drive) haha! I think we have to get in diff. litter because we want 2 females so it's harder sometimes so I also love the blue points...Also, eye-ing on BIRMANS but it's HARD and TOO popular esp. in France (they consider the top rated cat breed with Maine Coons because they are smaller / ancestor of the ragdolls haha!)

Well, let's just say we are close (i.e. going to FRANCE to get them 🙂)

Ah there maybe one! You can always pick up one from another state. I flew to Seattle to pick up mine.
So chilled for cutting those deadly weapons (aka claws) - so cute! Is it a good idea to let 1 or a pair of kittens explore the ENTIRE house first day?? Are they cool about it?
Hey Charles yeah the breeder taught them well! So confining them to one room or letting them explore the house depends on your situation. The reason you usually would contain them to one room first is if you have another pet and you want them to socialize safely. Another reason is if they are not potty trained yet. Otherwise if the house is kitten safe it’s cool for them to explore the house

@@cyrano24100 so i live in an apartment so Teemo and Arya wasn't exposed to stairs. I recommend you block off the high floors in case they fall by accident. Kittens are small and clumsy haha
@@TheCatButler Yes, however, we are in Switzerland and bedrooms are downstairs and living/dining/kitchen are upstairs ;) so if they have to explore at some point, they have to go up and down including the stairs to the garage!

Hi... i recently bought Blue and Buddy, 3 days ago. If you remember Buddy was the last of the litter and had not been chosen, so i decided to get Buddy as well, i remember him always been timid and somewhat scared when i first visited the breeder. They both have settled brilliantly, I'm so glad i decided to purchase both. They play with each other and groom each other, both eating well and used the litter tray on the first night. My problem is that Buddy seems so scared of me. Blue comes up and wants a cuddle and is very affectionate, i even cuddle and pet Blue infront of Buddy so Buddy knows he can feel safe with me. I lay on my stomach and put my hand out slowly for Buddy to sniff me but then he hisses if i try to do anything further. When i walk anywhere near him he shoots straight under the couch. Is there anything else i could try or does Buddy just need more time? Thank you
Hey! So Buddy sounds very similar to my experience with Arya. The kittens just left their mother so it takes awhile for them to adjust. In the beginning Arya was very shy and followed Teemo's lead. I think she cried for two days because she missed her mother. Would also hide from me. But after a week or two she warmed up and by month 5 follows me everywhere.
I recommend to give Buddy some time to adapt and have him lead the relationship. Eventually he will associate positive feelings with you like you feeding him, and watching how his sister feels safe around you. And your bond will blossom :). Hope that helps!

Yes two kittens can be on the flight in a carrier. You just have to pay a fee in the US at least.

They are both spayed and neutered. I recommend they get this procedure.
At What age did you spayed/neutered? Did you have them separated until they were so no baby’s came out?
About 5 and 6 months. Didn’t separate them

Please don’t ever hold kittens like that again. I’m sure you know now, but that wasn’t okay at all. Just because ragdolls flop doesn’t mean you get to hold them improperly.

It's just triming them and it's to help them get use to there paws being touched
