    Thanks Adam, would love to see a 2 year update on what you like and don't like about your RV. Anything you would add or change if you could.

    Once a year (end of season) I spray the seals and tires with bleach white and strip off the residue and grime, wash it down with the hose really well, then after it dries overnight I apply a fresh coat of armor all. The protectant over time accumulates really fine grime so I like to clean them up good once a year.

    I am new to trailer life. I ordered a can of Tire Foam before the video finished. Thanks for the information!

    Chemical guys VRP has been consistently recognized as one of the best for vinyl, rubber, and plastic. It is also water based so no harsh solvents. It is my favorite tire dressing because it is not a high gloss product and will no sling, absorbs very well. Give it a shot. Love the videos. Hope those drill bits I sent you years ago come in handy. Keep up the good work Adam.

    Great trick to know. We are actually shopping for a trailer, will definitely be using this maintenance trick. Thanks very much for sharing this with us Adam.

    Nice idea there abom. You should clean the top of the extension that grit rubbing will destroy the rubber too

      Yes the whole camper is due for a wash and Polish and I’ll clean the top when that happens.

    Good information. We own a Kodiak Ultimate. I like that you are working on a similar RV, so the systems are close to what you are working on.

      They are the same thing you just have a king bed and a few extra features. We considered upgrading to the Ultimate but we like what we have and I've been continuing to upgrade and work out any of the bugs.

    When we had a camper, we had a slide out awning. Definitely a good investment if you spend alot of time with your slide out open.

    That's a good idea. Never thought of the armor all tire spray before. Its probably silicone based. Silicone is what actually does the rejuvenation of rubbers and plastics. Its also good to coat the door seal on your vehicles as well. I've used silicon lubes like crc silicone spray or wd-40 silicone. Also used silicone grease from the plumbing aisle at home depot. The grease does an excellent job but takes longer to apply. Anyway, thanks for the tip, I'll try the tire spray. Heck plain old armor all would probably work too because it also has silicone based compounds (pdms). Thanks for the video man. Love watching. 😀

    Hi Adam, we are having a problem with a leaky car door seal, I didn't know this stuff existed!
    It just goes to show how your videos help people in all sorts of ways, I have ordered some rubber seal conditioner and try it, it costs £10.00 here in England, a new rubber seal would cost £40.00 so it has to be worth a try.
    Thanks Adam.

    thanks Adam! I've been using a product called "303"... It's good stuff, it's expensive, but it doesn't foam like the AA Tire Foam. I"m going to try it.

    Thanks for another great video, Adam! Great info about the tire foam. Mine has bulb seals on the inside flanges of the slide that I also treat.

    I got curious and decided to check and see if there is a handy way to put a spray can on a stick so it's easier to do those long top and bottom seals. Turns out there is. A search for "spray can extension pole" turns up a few.

    I also attempt to treat my slide out seals regularly, but I have had slide toppers installed on all 3 of my slideouts. Impossible to reach the center of the top horizontal seals with the toppers in the way. Problem is worse when using a spray can haven depleted some of the contents, losing pressure. The upside is that the toppers protect the seal centers from UV. If I can find a similar product in liquid form, I could put it in a sprayer bottle and take advantage of the extended wand. Looking into this. Thank you Adam.

      Regular armor all should work also. Put in a pressure spray container like used for spraying weeds.

    Don't forget that most slide-out have seals on the inside also. Doesn't hurt to lube them too. It's expensive to replace all these seals because the complete slide-out needs to be removed from the camper. That's why it's cheaper to maintain them.

    The armor all is all show and no go. Look into formula 303 aerospace protectant.

    Just a thought - in the boating world (constant UV exposure), anything Armorall is considered verboten. All the marine vinyl & rubber manufacturers recommend 303 Aerospace Protectant and after 15 years of use I can vouch for it. Maybe just another one to consider if you ever have a reason to change.

    • @richardwigley

      Well, in the yachting world, we can't use things that peasant boaters use. Even on the boats in our yachts, we don't use boating products. We must only use the finest milk from virginal women that live in a village at the bar of Mt. Everest.

    Thanks for the video first-time rver I noticed that the seal on my slide-out the one at the bottom it seems like it's starting to lose some elasticity I don't know of another word but I've only had the camper about 6 months what do you recommend thank you

    Should the seals be cleaned first before spraying the foam? I guess it wouldn’t hurt.

    Wonder if that would be good to spray on the rubber gasket on the bay doors as well?

  • @shortfuse43

    Adam, would this be good to soften and preserve the weather strips/gaskets on my truck doors as well as the window strips on the door outside the glass?

    • @jacobfoxworth
      @jacobfoxworth 3 роки тому

      Yes. I do it a couple times a year to keep the weatherstripping around the car doors in good shape. Silicone lubes and silicone grease from the plumbing aisle at home depot or other hardware stores will do the same thing. Armor all is also silicone based. Anything with silicone will rejuvenate plastics and rubbers.

    • @AbomAdventures
      @AbomAdventures  3 роки тому

      Sure it would. Might be easier to use some regular armor all and wipe them down with a cloth.

    • @anneburke8709

      That was my question. In general, the prep work is very important before applying any product, regardless if you are painting, or applying sealant. I just sealed the outside seams of my RV with Geocel ProFlex clear sealant & I first cleaned it by rubbing over the old seams with denatured alcohol using a rag.

    I just cant trust Armorall products anymore. You'll get i good smack if caught with it in some detail shops 🤣Have seeing the damage in used cars....think we stick with recommended slide seal protectors.
