If found guilty, can they put Trump in Jail?
In this particular trial, if he is found guilty, jailtime is an option for the judge to use when sentencing. It can be up to 4 years per count that he's found guilty of, and he has approximately 43 counts charged (if I am remembering correctly). That could potentially add up to many, many years. Given his advanced age, it could effectively amount to being a life sentence.
Except it’s possible the judge won’t have the guts to jail him. Too worried about threats from the mad MAGA mob…
