In England, we call them Strimmers. In America, I believe they are called "Weed Whackers" - a particularly apt name - but "Whipper Snipper" is a great name to make a boring job more fun. I can just see the assistant's face when I walk into my local garden centre and ask for a spool of whipper Sniper line... Thank you Sean for inspiring us all to be better grass cutters.
A good job mate. Another tip for wet grass mowing - just like cricket grounds drive a rope around to remove surface water, dragging a garden hose over the surface removes the droplets on the top part of the grass leaf. This means when you cut there is far less water on the leaf, so it stands more upright, and weighs a lot less when catching. That only makes a difference obviously if it's stopped raining . . .
Also a good idea for morning dew to keep the lawn pristine. I'll admit that it's not something I have the energy to do everyday to my own lawn, but a great tip for those looking to get some serious lawn porn!
Would love a "drive-by" photo of some of the recently reclaimed couch lawns which were totally brown when you finished whacking them into submission. Bet they are soaking up the rain and are turning green again. Fabulous job as always, Sean.
Hey Sean! Next time you have to cut in the wet grass, go over the entire lawn with your blower first. "Drive" the water to the highest point of the lawn with the blower just like a hair dryer. It won't help the undergrass but it will save you some time and strain on your equipment. This lawn turned out great. The edging...Brilliant!
@@hils22787 I don't know? I usually cut the lawn and let it dry out while I do the edging and trimming, then I go over the lawn at the next higher setting just to pick up the scraps of grass into the bagger. Good luck Sillygoose!

Well done Mate, working in a soggy mess. You made it look as good as it could and I say exceeded expectations. Missed you Sean and now I know why. RAIN. If any country needs rain, it is Australia.
Will keep you all in prayer as these storms come through. The yard looks really good nice of you to help a friend especially when it's raining God bless you and your family
That was really a good idea to discuss how to mow in wet conditions and I like peoples suggestions for moving water off, as dragging a rope or blowing with a blower first. Not only did the edging make things look great, you are still finding hidden landscape features and the evolution of the plan is interesting to see. I like the 'new house" look when you were done and that is a pleasant back space that you pulled-off a decent finish on. I will guess that the rapid growing grasses there are going to be happy with the rain this year.
You could hold a master class on how to use a whippersnipper for edging 😊 Needs must when the weather is like this, it must be driving you bonkers with all the rescheduling! Glad you were able to get your work fix with your mate’s lawn, regardless of the wt conditions 😊❤️

I mowed a wet lawn a few months ago and it turned out fine with minimal mess. Mostly positive comments for my video on that. It showed that it can be done cleanly. So to did your video and the job turned out great.
You are just the best at not only edging but at the attention to detail that you give every job. Great job as always. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks so much.
Last night I watched your video about the comments. Just thought I should leave a comment myself. I can be counted in the 10 who like the music as opposed to that one who didn't. I don't know why I never knew you could use a line trimmer to clear weeds from the sidewalks and to get a clean edge on the grass! Next summer, my yard will look much better because of you showing how it can be done.
Now that’s a sensible-sized yard! So many of your clients seem to have huge acreages, and use them as dumping grounds. It’s as if they think “I don’t know what to do with this, so I’ll just put it outside and watch it gently moulder into zero value, then take it to the tip.” Beautiful little property, and just needed your usual meticulous tidying. Great work,as always, and the rain has made everything so green.
Gee whiz, Sean, the lawn and edging looks great. another tip for wet mowing. bounce that mower every now and then, the wet grass sticks to the bottom of the mowers deck just push down on the handle to pick the front wheels up and let it fall. it is just a simple way to clean the underside of the deck. but bounce it 3 or 4 times, shake the heavy grass clippings loose. great things you do for others mate. love the freebie vids. keep being you anzac. best wishes from the usa
The only problem i see mowing in the rain is you get wet and dirtyer ..Plus the grass gets a good drink after youve mowed it enjoyed this one dont get to many done in the rain thank you Sean.

G'day Sean, thought I'd watch your video before mowing my folks lawn today. I'm yet to master the whipper snipper, practice makes perfect. I've always thought that mowing in the rain or just after the rain would butcher the grass and stuff your mower, but you've done a brilliant job and it looks like none of your equipment took a beating. Hope your mate offered a pint after this job or reasonable compensation such as a free lunch or a reasonable pay packet at the end. (Edit: A freebie for a mate always feels good. I mow my folks lawn because I enjoy mowing lawns and it helps them so I'm happy.)
Yeah, my grass was mown last week (Queensland ) and overnight it grew and 6 days later, it's taller than before I mowed. Ugh. 2 dry days , that's all I want so I can cut it back again. Anywho, ta for the archaeology and the discovery of unknown garden beds.

Sean, you sorted it all out, great job! 👍. True about La Niña, your getting the rain and here in Virginia (southern part) we are dry as a desert! You are a killer on those edges, you make it look too easy. We used to say “if it ain’t raining it ain’t training”. Haha. In your case hope you get a break in weather!
Wow! Your whipper-snipper and mower must be about as hardy as you are! I noticed it took you more time to slog through the muddy roots, etc. Your efforts were rewarded by a very nice result, Sean. As usual! 😀😃😄

(Edit: A freebie for a mate always feels good. I mow my folks lawn because I enjoy mowing lawns and it helps them so I'm happy.)
Thanks mate!
In the Netherlands it always rains. Like 90% of the time. So we do mow our lawn in the rain. And the grass is really green here. No problem!
Yeah, my grass was mown last week (Queensland ) and overnight it grew and 6 days later, it's taller than before I mowed. Ugh. 2 dry days , that's all I want so I can cut it back again.
Anywho, ta for the archaeology and the discovery of unknown garden beds.
Professional lawn care really improves the look of any property..great job as always
Thanks 👍
14 days in a row raining here in North Spain (Basque Country) and more coming until at least next Wednesday, nothing weird for us here.
Wow
Ohhhh I was like a waterblasting video😝😊🤙.
Your edging is therapeutic for me too. Im a fulltime carer for our 11 year old daughter. Everyone thinks im a weirdo for watching lawning videos on youtube!!! Its relaxing!!!!
Thanks for sharing, I needed my weekly dose of edging 😁😉
I love when you do the edges on the whipper snipper!!! Soooooo satisfying...
Glad you like them!
Another bang up job. Your wipper snipper skills really makes the lawn pop. I really enjoyed this episode.
Many thanks mate!
Reminder set. Sounds like a tricky mowing session for you Sean. We’ve got some storms in UK
In Germany in the Swabian Mountains we have 4 ° C minus and light Snowfall 🤗
Oh how i envy you in your shorts. Here in New Brunswick, Canada we got snow. Another fine job Sean.
I'm one of those types who would still wear shorts haha
@@BladeMateLawnCare Oh i still do inside but when it gets to -35C with windchill its time for jeans. Lol
"The whip snipper"! my favorite too!
I love the whipper edging and nice buzz cut on you!
Even in the rain you do a perfect job!! Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Hola blade mate es un gusto verte siempre esperando tus vídeos tú amiga Lupe pizarro de Cuenca Ecuador 😁🤗🎅🎄🇪🇨
Rain or shine, looks good 👍
Wow! Your whipper-snipper and mower must be about as hardy as you are! I noticed it took you more time to slog through the muddy roots, etc. Your efforts were rewarded by a very nice result, Sean. As usual! 😀😃😄
Job well done Sean!! Everything looked healthy,& manicured. Absolutely beautiful with all the rain. Looking forward to the next one.💯❤️👍🏾🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
