Really enjoyed the Running Forehand video. The focus on the footwork and recovery from the shot was really helpful to see, especially backed up with the clips from the pro's in there for reference. Thanks for the tips, and keep up the great work guys.
Recovery footwork is a perfect topic for me. I've always had good natural ability to chase down wide shots and keep the ball in play, but my feet keep running, and my goose is cooked on the next shot, unless my opponent is simply awed by my stunning retrieval!
I did learn this during the lesson today and didn’t quite comprehend the moment you turn your upper body and hit the ball. Now I get it as I see the slow motions of the players. Thank you!
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial I personally find it difficult to get my footwork and body into unit turn on return of serves. I end up slicing back or just punching the return back. Some lesson around how to quickly get a unit turn going and what’s the muscle memory to get into for it to stick
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Thanks Simon for your reply! When you get a chance, can you guys elaborate on what top players, like you and the ATP players, pay attention to when it comes to long matches (3-5 sets)? Psychology, foot work, strokes etc. Cheers!
Thank you for linking the home tennis video. Starting to get into tennis again just by taking by my racquet and a ball while walking. Definately will start doing your drills when courts open again. ❤
very good content.. ty guys!! i'm having trouble with the footwork on these running fhs because i'm a righty who plays with the left hand so sometimes i feel like i'm using the dominant leg instead of the left leg.. i was trying to closed stance hitting these running fhs, thats why it was rly tough for me to do it.. and i realized many times i already do the "hop" correctly, with my left leg.. i'm really glad with the video, ty guys.. i have only 3y of tennis but im hard working and i've improved a lot, thanks God.. and thanks to contents like these.. ty very much Alex and Simon
Could you guys maybe do a video on the common mistakes with the double handed backhand because my backhand needs some help and the one you did with the forehand really helped my forehand. Thanks, Rishi
The running forehand. It might be my imagination but it seems to me that I have to cock the racquet more and hold it more loosely to hit a good one, which is difficult to do when sprinting a short distance cos I think that's when the upper body holds more tension.
Great content as usual. I have two questions for you topicwise: 1. How and when do you change your grip during a rally? Do you normally change it? 2. I see all the time players picking balls from 3 or 4 before serving. Why are they doing that? At some point during the matches they bring in new balls. Are they wearing that fast, after only a few shots/games? Thank you and all the best.
Couple questions. On a running forehand, is it adviseable to use the buggywhip forehand in certain circumstances? Also, I have decent directional and height control of the ball when I have time but when rushed, I can be more inconsistent..any video or tips to remedy that? Thanks for this video and any advice on my questions!
Yes the buggy whip can be very useful on the run since we often make contact on side of the body. When you’re rushed, shorten the backswing but increase the footwork intensity 👍 All the best Simon
Great instruction. Unrelated to the topic, but man -- that court surface looks brutal! To me, it almost looks like an asphalt parking lot. Also looks very hard and unforgiving. Is it just in need of re-surfacing or is that the normal court surface? Looks like a nice club so that's why I'm perplexed.
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Thank you! If things ever return to normal would love to have an in person coaching session with you guys if you do that sort of thing 🙂
Guys appreciate your content. Having said that, is there any way to reduce the number of ads in your videos? There are so many of them that it's getting distracting
You can join one of our courses on our website at www.top-tennis-training.com and watch the lessons ad free. On UA-cam, the ads support the channel which allows us to give out free content.
I have lot of power but there is no control when i hit my forehand. I also could play with a racket without strings since i hit so uncleanly..... I am literally struggling with this game lmao.
Love the video. Hate the music! Why have music?! There's no way all the viewers will agree about your music choice, and it'll just distract! You also seem to know the music is distracting, so you mute it when you're talking?!

On the rise forehand
@John BUI haha that might be a slight issue yes! Have you thought about using a setup built for mortals?
