Indiana Beach has a strong coaster lineup for a small beachside park like they have 3 superb woodies, a crazy inverting coaster with a steep drop, a mild but fun family coaster, and a super intense Schwarzkopf coaster with powerful inversions like what’s not to love about this place
As someone who missed out on this coaster while in Mexico City it’s great to hear that I as well as many others will get the chance to ride this incredible coaster. I just hope Indiana Beach is able to do what is needed to get it operational because there is so much work that needs to be done.
Moved to Indianapolis in 1990 when I was 10. Waited 28 years to finally hit Indiana Beach. By far my favorite park now. Went Labor Day weekend 2018 with my brother, daughter, and niece. 2 quality woodies in Hoosier Hurricane and Cornball Express. Steel Hawg is compact but great. Lost Coaster was surprisingly everyone's favorite for it's weirdness alone. Didn't get to ride Tigrr cuz my daughter was too short lol. Already bought season passes for next year. Not joking when I say the longest wait (14 minutes) was for the Ferris Wheel. By 6PM we'd ridden every coaster several times, and even hit the waterpark too. The fact it's only 10 acres is astounding for the number and quality of rides available. Quimera will be an amazing addition. Highly recommend this park to everyone, especially those with young ones.
It combines three great elements as a park: 1. It feels like a great, old-school American amusement park; 2. It feels very much like a community park; 3. It is a quirky, weird, unique park.
The new owners have it so much cleaner and well kept appearing as well. I went this year after not going for 20 years because it really wasn't all that nice before.
@@thrillshaveabeard And if they're committed to keeping it up, the attendance could skyrocket by drawing the Hoosiers who consider King's Island their "home park" like my family always has. And it's in Ohio. Indianapolis area is a huge market to tap into.
Because of the pandemic the revived Indiana Beach was the only park I attended in 2020. I just couldn't miss the chance to return after the near-miss with losing the place. The amount of work Mr. Staples and his team had already put into the park was appreciable, but so was the lingering evidence of the sad state Apex left the park in. My previous visit was during the Morgan RV years (2012), and while the color pallet was more dull (lots of white and grey) and the park was a bit dirty, everything was pretty solid. This year a few rides were still closed and the brightly colored paint Apex threw around has faded and I notice wood that needed replacement (rotting out) on benches, and other small refurbishments were needed throughout. But the park was clean, progress was clearly being made to bring many rides and attractions back to tip-top shape, and it's still got a lot to offer. LoCoSuMo was actually running consistently (albeit with only 1 train) - which has always been a rarity. I planned to return next year anyway, but this addition really seals the deal. Considering the rehabilitation task they have ahead of them I'm doubtful we'll see the ride open until mid summer (maybe a late June/early July opening?), but this addition is an amazing fit and hopefully will allow the park to break into a healthy cycle of new additions driving attendance leading to new additions once again - even if that means some rides will have to be replaced along the way.
They will for sure. They probably purchased it for next to nothing given its history. Being it's gonna be a permanent fixture, they'll empty the budget to make it perfect.
@@julianponce1854 Yea, it does, your so right I was in line I thought the same thing I travel alot to theme parks, Steel vengeance is, the only one I know that shakes, and sways, so much but it is very safe I looked at the structure of that roller coaster and its, okie, the second one would be at six Flags Great America almost similar Excalibur that ride is so intense I love it just as much as SV Ohh the third would be valvraven when it stops, at the top it does shake I was like ooo yikes, It's, cool to meet people like you 😊
Great Vid Daddy O! SAVE ALL SCHWARZKOPFS!!! With the news of Shockwave Closing in Texas, this news could not be better received. Just went to SFOG and watched them painting a beautiful new looking Mind Eraser! More good news! The more Schwarzkopfs we can save the better!
I love this. They are bringing in a flat ride from a small park that closed outside of Chicago which was my first job many years ago. This coaster is a great fit. Went to the park several times in 2020 and will be going a bunch in 2021
Indiana Beach providing us with two fairy tale endings to two stories that looked like nothing but terrible news. (I’m talking about the fate of the park and this coaster - obviously there’s no happy ending for those who lost their lives.) Btw, I had to look up Sunway Lagoon. It’s in Malaysia. This coaster has traveled the world!
I'm sure Maurer could help them repair the ride, since they own the rest of Schwarzkopf's assets and can continue to make parts for this ride. I know Maurer is doing that at Six Flags Over Georgia for Mind Bender, and so Maurer would have to provide them with new control systems, new brakes if needed, maybe new sensors, maybe new track, some supports, a lot of things. They could also make the trains too, I assume, either them or Gerstlauer. I hope for the best for Indiana Beach, as I know that they will definitely take care of this ride well, unlike in Mexico. La Feria tbh should close in general, since they're unsafe as heck, and any park in Mexico, other than Six Flags Mexico should close.
Of course this will be the perfect fit for the park. That is of course if they make the same changes on this ride that West Edmonton Mall made to Mindbender back in 1987. Considering how this coaster had a similar incident not too long ago that Mindbender had over 30 years ago, it would only be the most logical and safe thing to do.
Awesome ride needs a major overhaul full structure /system maintenance running as manufacturer intended round the clock checks and tests on the trains brakes unbelievable that they still having it run after the 2 deaths but as been to ride neglect bout to happen to any ride think thats why they bringing it back wasnt due to the ride malfunctioning under good conditions suffered with poor maintenance and bad installation of wrong wheel assembly also i read somewhere wasnt original to manufacturers and it was at flamingo land for 5 years before it went to mexico no accidents i went on myself about 6 times in a row back in 2003 was awesome
That is normal for coasters and actually necessary. There are lots of coasters that have a very noticeable sway. As I mentioned though this wasn't maintained well at La Feria. Maybe it had more sway than it should??? Idk

Before this happened I thought that Quimera looked like the best Swartzkopf. I am very happy that it is now going to be 3 hours away from me!
Any new Schwarzkopf in America is high on my list!! 😍
Absolutely!!!
1:50 the loop sway lol

I also feel it will be a tall order to get this ride done for beginning of the season.
Indiana boutta have a new world class top 2
Well, looks like I’m buying tickets for Indiana Beach
I hope they add additional supports for those loops. Thats a ridiculous amount of sway
They will for sure. They probably purchased it for next to nothing given its history. Being it's gonna be a permanent fixture, they'll empty the budget to make it perfect.
That's nothing compared to the sway on Steel Vengeance. I almost didnt want to ride it after watching how much the track moves

that first loop sure moves around a lot when the train goes through it. pretty sketchy
