I was gonna get heated over the “intimidating” comment because black people get that all the damn time when you haven’t even got a chance to open your mouth yet. But I will say his natural face definitely gave off angry and intimidating 🤣 plus can people PLEASE drop the word “coloured” that could mean any colour on the bloody chart! lol Let’s be straight, it’s black
i was bracing myself for that comment too. we are trained to get that response , which is precisely the reason why black males are very much vulnerable. his face that of an average 21 year old .which i believe he ought to be.
So... when you say "Let's be straight, it's black." Are you saying only gay people use the word "coloured" but straight people say "black?" See how easy it is to play "gotcha?" What's next years' word?
Can I just say that Geraldine responses really made me cringe on multiple levels. First, her answer about looking passed someone's exterior is some real BS. Later in the interview she admits he looked intimidating to her because he frowned. Why not convess that to him in the conversation? That is a judgement made solely on someone's appearance, because a frown can mean so much more. Second, her second response is objectifying and sexualizing him. Maybe Geraldine has the hots for younger men, sure. But it still makes me wonder: if he was white, would she still see him as a toyboy or as a guy who could be her son? He just told her about his ambitions and dreams, and all she can think is "Damn, he looks hot!". Weren't you even listening, woman?!
arlene irizarry What the actual heck is wrong with you? What do you think you would notice, the hair in their left nostril or something? Guess what, when you make eye-contact, you look at the person face. Another thing, the persons face is covered with skin. and WOAOOAOAH, the skin has a colour, numbskull, what else are they supposed to notice
Describing someone as coloured is to 'other' them. It places caucasian as the standard and anything else as 'coloured' and not the norm- when looking at the worldwide population, there are enough non-caucasian people for it not to be unusual. Also, how you can place all non-caucasian people under one label when they are so diverse.
When she says coloured, as much as it's wrong to use that term, she is part of the older generation, and that isn't to excuse her that's almost to heed what she might say or think or do. My dad says the same thing, I've told him no it's Black, and he has tried to change his language, especially around me. But ofc my stepmum was the opposite, claiming that they're okay with that term. She'll never stop using that term, she uses wrong terms especially around me. Aggravating much.
hmm i don't agree with him placing 'baits' to 'trip' people up on issues of race. He will always find something he doesn't like if he's doing that, if someone doesn't pass his 'test'
women of her generation would use the word coloured. the word is a racist word in the uk. she might not mean nothing by it...but she needs to be political correct when addressing a person of colour or a black man. i get the feel she call every race coloured. She doesnt care to correct her self.
He IS coloured, it's not racism it's observation, get off your high horse, I don't give a crap what colour you are... People get so offended for the sake of it
James Hatfield it’s offensive because it’s an outdated phrase used in times when black people were openly discriminated against and laws were in place to keep blacks inferior to whites. There is no problem with pointing out that someone is of colour (depending on tone and context) so why don’t YOU GET OFF YOUR UNWOKE HIGH HORSE
She never said she found it intimidating, she said she wasn't sure if he was _trying_ to intimidate her. Some people just find intense eye contact uncomfortable (such as myself).
regardless of colour someone staring at you while frowning at you can easily be mistaken for intimidation
matrixrory I think he was just deep in thought. You make these micro expressions when in thought
Everyone does it. I do it. There are people here saying that shes racist because she finds it intimidating.
Exactly
LOL, when was 'colour' mentioned?
Géraldine hitting on Nathan lol
hind said ouali I don’t blame her. Healthy skin tone and body.
Well, she's a woman afterall and He is indeed beautiful in every physical way. 🙏🏾
Bless
His voice is much softer and nicer than I expected.
My gosh he is fine 😍

It's actually more like a rich mocha frappacino.lol

The guy looked mad at first but he turned out to be a nice person.
He is SO pretty. Wow
Of course the first thing noticed is the color of someone's skin. I'm sure Nathan noticed she was white first thing

You just said the same thing as the commenter only in a longer form.
I am guy and that guy is handsome. No homo. Black is beautiful.
Mashallah, but its okay to say a guy is handsome .If you are secure with yourself nobody is going to interrogate your sexuality.
Cheila Sequeira I agree.
Victimising himself. What else could he have meant other than colour
That was really good. Thanks Nathan and Geraldine 😃. BBC you’ve done fab
Her saying coloured isn’t racist. She didn’t say it to offend, she said it as a way for her to get across what she means
"with coloured people" NAHH DEAD
No different to Americans saying "People of Colour".
EliteXtasy exactly
no different than australians using "ethnic people" . you lot have serious issues with labels .
J Mc yes. Where you're from. Not everyone is from where you're from. Is it that hard to get your head around?

She guessed right, he was worried.
First time watching this I must say it's pretty intense but you feel at ease once you do it
Nathan seemed much nicer until he opened his mouth! xD
Geraldine definitely wants a slice ;-). I like this series, good job BBC3
Where can I watch the other people who were paired up?
Nice save Geraldine..

Just goes to show that people judge a person on face value rather than actually talking to them
Love these videos!
2 beautiful humans♥️
I thought she was going to ask him “what is your number?”
birmingham accents are so nasty lmaooo
Oh look theres good old pat from Yorkshire, i didnt know she did a starring comp on the bbc.
hmm i don't agree with him placing 'baits' to 'trip' people up on issues of race. He will always find something he doesn't like if he's doing that, if someone doesn't pass his 'test'
shes so cute
Uh what a queen. He made it all about himself. 🥴
There’s so much he could have said about her
Nathan fine af lol
Did she say coloured?!? 😱
If I were in granny's spot I would've written: Is it true what they say about black men? (and then drawn an eggplant emoji)
Why IS he frowning so dang hard?
And I'm sorry.....coloured?
he is cute. does he have insta or something
Im glad that woman pointed out he was beautiful, thats the first thing i noticed XD
Damn I'm falling in love just by looking at him for a minute... c:
She is so cute 😍

Screw being PX just another way to control people
3:38 'coloured people' oh lorddddddd
From the people I know, the older generation seem to still use that word unfortunately. :(

The black guy, Nathaniel has hotttttttt lips.
-Sigh- Nothing intimidating about him … At her age she should be a better, more conscious person by now
Nathan :)
He's literally sitting down making eye contact and she finds it 'Intimidating'. Get off it
She never said she found it intimidating, she said she wasn't sure if he was _trying_ to intimidate her. Some people just find intense eye contact uncomfortable (such as myself).
Ol girl got game LOL! -M
I did find him intimidating 🙄😏
someone staring at you and also frowning you can easily be mistaken for intimidation
J Mc you want her to be racist, but she’s clearly not
