  • This is why You're Stuck in Lower Lobbies in GT7 (PSVR2) - In this video we are going to Red Bowl Ring for Daily Race B in Gran Turismo 7. I will be discussing why you might be stuck in lower lobbies and not moving up. It comes down to one overall thing really, that I usually forget to mention but in this video I finally mention it. Racing in PSVR2 of course like always. Hope this video helps you get better and get moving up!

    Few extra tips. 1 practice often 2 get to know the car not every car behaves the same. 3 when down shifting you don’t need to go from 5th gear to 2nd in a instance, cars tend to unsettle. 4 you don’t have to pass the car ahead of you at the next corner be patient. 5 Don’t worry about being the fastest worry about being consistent

      Consistency is key. Especially in lower lobbies. If you can't stay on the track, you can't finish well.

      The only downfall is if you are fast in a GR car and have a high driver rating you likely can't drive anything else

      @@TheSpyderChannelMy point exactly. Gran Turismo lets you do things you would never do in real life and would essentially destroy the car. From downshifting early and running the rev limiter through the roof. Nobody in the top splits in Gran Turismo could drive a car fast in real life without blowing it up on the first lap. Top split in Gran Turismo is a joke. Put those guys in any other car in the game other than a GR car and they can't make it around the track.

    • @Necu58

      @@nighttrain1565 I completely agree with you. GR cars in GT7 is dominated by YT guys. And yeah most of them can’t really drive anything out of the GR cars, personally I got tired of the daily races especially since 99% of the races are GR3&4 and the same tracks it’s like a endless rinse and repeat. But all of the YT guys will overhype each week saying this week is good, better than ever when really they don’t mean it, they say those things because they need the views and money. The bad thing is, try to make a lobby race. I have tried to make themed races like 90s JDM asking people to leave them stock most people will just complain that the cars are slow because they are so use to race cars. And they will leave the lobby which is fine if that’s not your cup of tea but the most annoying is people joining the lobby with a swapped car all the upgrades and staying in the lobby even if you ask them to stick with the theme then your forced to kick them out and after 20 min maybe if your lucky you have 3 people in your lobby. I personally enjoy driving street cars because it’s closer to reality. I have a 370z with some mods and I take it to the track from time to time and it is expensive to do that, so I like the fact that in GT I can drive the 370z on tracks I know I will never get to in real life like the Nurburgring,

    Really enjoyed this video. I’ve been taking sim racing more seriously the last year or so and it’s exactly as you’ve said. I’ve made my way to a low mid level A and have a great group of lads i race with. Incidents always happen but know with how we race it’s unintentional. Getting into the daily races was frustrating at first but when you learn some of the crafts you pointed out and on top of that don’t get disheartened when you have a bad race.

    This guy does have some very damn good points and the basics of driving in sim racing games! I just started sim racing in GT7 when it came out. I takes some time to get the hang of how racing is to get your DR and SR. I actually have a video on DR and SR comparisons, DR of Cs to Ds and then DR As and Bs. Real big difference of how it is when racing against C and D DR people to B and A DR.

    • @vipers.recordings6116
      @vipers.recordings6116 28 днів тому

      SR will play another major problem if you haven’t noticed when races you can not get out. Raising your sportsmanship rating is a huuuge factor. Having to improve this, will help out as well. My friend is and was a DR D driver and after I told him to raise his SR to S, he started to increase and improve his own skill, and he noticed how bad those previous lobbies were compared to the lobbies he saw I had.

    5 Important things to do, from someone who was a B driver, got PSVR2, dropped to C, got a Load-cellpedals and Pro racing wheel, dropped to D. Always kept the SR rating at “S” How did I get back up? FIRST: watch what cars are the meta car by the world rankings.
    SECOND: watch 2 or 3 different top rated drivers in the car you are going to use. See how they take the turns, where they shift and actually quite often it is what they are not doing. So many times they don’t brake at all they just lift off the gas pedal on the turn. Watch that over and over till you get it from the arcade view. &( count how many seconds they do that and remember that) you will get faster from that alone.
    THIRD: I will watch Tidgney UA-cam video dissecting the race. He has been a world class simulating racer. Comes out every Monday. For race A,B & C
    FOURTH: Never ever quit a race. If you get punted on a 6 lap race on the first turn, keep going for practice and switch your screen to show your lap times. The lower the lobby the more people drop out, so even if you start 12th, and are running after the punt in 16th, I guarantee others will get punted and drop out and you could most likely end up with a better finishing position than you started.
    FIFTH: No matter what in the lower lobbies as you advance from D to C to B you will have to win you win a race and move up have to deal with drivers with terrible Safety Ratings.😮 Learn not to engage.
    And finally you need to copy some tunes for the races that offer them. Many times the fastest cars need more downforce or brakebalance extremes. Don’t be afraid to add Traction control to even a #2 with weak ABS and try it out. I see so many that spin out all the time, and know it is correctable with the proper set up. That’s why CAS is using the Porsche in this video because it is very stable without much needing to be done, but try the Lamborghini and you better make some adjustments for it to work as well. ;).
    ONE MORE THING PUT IN YOUR SIGNATURE/Name (My handle is “TicketBait VR”. ) THAT YOU ARE RACING IN “VR” Always more polite to fellow virtual reality racers!!!🎉

      Tigney's track guides are great. Also, when Mani puts out a track guide, his are really good too. Most drivers should not expect to be as fast as these guys just by watching their guides, but they should definitely help. Also, if racing in VR, you will need to adjust your markers and see what works for you as it will differ from a flat screen, bumper cam view.

      @TheSpyderChannel 29 днів тому

      @@thecasualracinggameragree that the markers you use will be different, there are too many different tracks to learn all the nuances of each. So for myself I use the red brake markers, do not have the luxury of all the other filters available so this helps make it more fair. I do when trying many different cars for a particular track will try out in flat screen bumper cam to get the feel of the beast and if I like it will then put on my helmet for complete immersion.

    Respectfully, you're still missing a huge part of it - the game is still dumping Safety-D racers with Safety-S drivers in DR-D lobbies. A guy working hard to improve out of D can not get out naturally with literal 9 year olds throwing their cars at you. If they could actually create a split, where D/S drivers can race without fighting D/D drivers, or C/D drivers, then yeah, we'd have a better time.
    Personally, I cannot spend enough time to qualify high. It takes me longer than a week to get good enough. Then the week rolls over. Then the next time my favorite track comes around, driving BoP is like starting all over again. So qualifying high up is going to be rare, if ever. I am totally OK with that. I'm not good enough for C? Fine, don't care. I'm an adult who works a lot, so I can't race for hours every night. Just don't wanna race with D safety racers when I'm S.
    To those who say it's easy to get out of D - they start a brand new account and get up to A in a week or less. You did it yourself. But that's just it. You guys ARE A racers. Of course you can qualify high up and have decent races in lower lobbies and you'll jump up daily, racking up wins and top 5s.
    I wish I didn't have to race with literal children just because I can't qualify very high.

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  29 днів тому +1

      I think you missed the point of the video. If you are struggling to get out of a D lobby, then you are not ready for C lobbies. It has nothing to do with SR ratings at that lower level. All driving there is a mess no matter what SR they are. It doesn't take that many decent finishes to get out of D.
      Also, I don't think you realize what type of road/circuit driver I was when I started GT7. I was terrible and how no idea really how to race these cars or tracks. I wasn't even up shifting and downshifting correctly. I worked on improving. Plenty of folks in the community were giving me tips to get better. I was sharing what I learned in my videos to help others improve along with me. If you out a few hours a week in to get better, you will move up and get to race with better drivers.

    • @PhpGtr
      @PhpGtr 22 дні тому +1

      @@thecasualracinggamer I must not have been clear. I am not "struggling to get out of a D lobby". I _am_ a D driver. No amount of practice can realistically improve my rating. I have been on GT7 nonstop the last week and I cannot come within 10 seconds of most of your times. Race B this week, Laguna, I am 6 seconds off your time. I about had a heart attack doing it. So I'm D in skill. Not ashamed. I am HAPPY to be D lobby and happy to race against others who are like me, a D.
      What I am not happy about is that I cannot race with other adults who want clean racing, because I am forced to race with a-holes. If I understand you correctly, then it's just my tough luck if I cannot get out of D, because I won't ever be able to have a clean race with other clean racers. Then, that's it. Tough luck. And I think that really sucks. Perhaps there are other games I can try that take punting and pitting more seriously, but, I'd rather stay casual. I don't want to have to beat myself up to get unrealistic times just to have a clean race.

      @PhpGtr 29 днів тому +4

      Hey buck, I hear ya. It's tough as an adult. Anyhow, there's a couple of good videos on YT on getting out of the menu books fast to unlock all the options in the World. It does involve buying a few of those cars to complete the menu books faster.
      What I did was I just played it as a single-player progression game and enjoyed the heck out of the menus, and license tests. Just keep going back to the cafe to claim the menu book rewards once you do whatever that menu book wanted you to do. One of them is going to open up the licenses center. Then you can start doing those licenses as well. Don't worry about getting Gold or Silver, just get them done on Bronze to progress. Then come back and try to improve.
      One other thing I can tell you - the youtubers are already good. So they are able to qualify high up, and have good races, even if they start a new account. They have the experience. Online racing is probably one of the more frustrating things you will try. I even gave it up entirely a couple of weeks ago because I simply did not have the time to devote to it.
      Oh yeah and you're gonna wanna do left-foot braking. Use paddles for shifting instead of clutch/stick combo. Weird to learn at first. It's kind of like starting all over again, but you'll have all those cafe menus and licenses tests to practice on. Best of luck.

    load cell gives risistence at the end ONLY, stopping the movement of the pedal and putting other leg muscles in the work..proper breaks gives u resistence all the way if the speed is high and u try to break fast. maybe pedals for 1500$ does that, but them fanatec etc pedals is just resistence at the end ONLY. Like I have V3 inverted ones and load cell is bs, have to keep it almost off, as if I try to make it stronger it gives this sudden resistence in the middle of the pressing, leaving begining sof and the stupidly hard, basically making u start breaking fast and then slowing it down, resulting in to late breaking..
    So, the best way is just to have ur max when the pedal is to the metal, u release half-its half, simple. from load cell pedal doesnt move but breakes releases or increases, and without G forces in VR theres NO WAY to know when u are max, half or 1%.. with a screen its sdifferent storry when you see graphics of the breaks..

    your explanation of trail braking is all wrong... it's a braking technique. it has nothing to do with the car going around some random turn on some random track. it's the mechanical process of how you release the brake pedal. the reasons for it are controlling the weight balance and weight shift of the vehicle. can be done in a straight line if you want or around a turn for your sim racing 'pleasure'. you've completely lost sight for what it is and why it's done. the act of braking or slowing down the vehicle is to reduce the amount of kinetic energy which would otherwise cause loss of traction in your case. in doing so you affect the balance and weight shift of the vehicle. trail braking has nothing to do with vehicle rotation. as i stated... it can be done in a straight line if you're so inclined to 'practice' what's required at the brake pedal. in short 'its about car control...' has nothing to do with being fast or slow. some of the fastest drivers have some of the best car control. unless we're looking at nascar and 10 car pileups... fast cause the engine is big.

      Appreciate your comment, and while this video wasn't meant to be a video on trail breaking techniques as there are much better drivers then me to cover it, correct use of trail braking will 100% help you rotate the car better for certain corners. Of course, braking is about weight transfer, but the trailing of it will help with rotation and being able to get on the throttle earlier.

    • @emteehed
      @emteehed 28 днів тому

      @@thecasualracinggamer again no... the forward shift of weight is what helps the redirection of the cars kinetic energy. (the weight is now on the tires that rotate!) Once you transfer kinetic energy from forward motion to lateral motion, YOU MUST begin trail braking. Otherwise the rear tires will lose traction due to low weight on the rear tires. As I said... trail braking isn't about going fast. It's about not losing control of the vehicle.

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  28 днів тому +1

      Again, yes. Trail braking will help you rotate the car better, yes because of weight transfer, and it will help you become faster by allowing you to get on the throttle earlier. Hence, in the end, you will run faster laps with the proper use of trail braking. I am not even sure what point you are trying to make anymore, or do you just want me to say you're right? Sure, you are right. Trail braking won't help you rotate the car, and it won't help you get out of a corner faster. It will make you slower and you won't be able to turn the car because of it. Better? 😀

WEIGHT SHIFT TOO FAST FRONT TO REAR AND YOU CAN EITHER UNDERSTEER OR ON THROTTLE OVERSTEER DUE TO TRACTION LOSS. WITH THE WEIGHT SHIFTED FORWARD BECAUSE OF BRAKING... YOU CAN ROTATE BETTER. WITH THE WEIGHT SHIFTED FORWARD AND TOO MUCH ROTATION YOU CAN LOSE REAR TRACTION. NONE OF THIS IS ABOUT BEING FASTER... IT'S ALL ABOUT CAR CONTROL... YOU ARE flat out wrong.

      @@thecasualracinggamer YOU'RE UNDER THE MISCONCEPTION BRAKING AND TRAIL BRAKING ARE THE SAME THING.... NO... YOU BRAKE TO REMOVE KINETIC ENERGY... YOU TRAIL BRAKE TO SLOW THE LOSS OF KINETIC ENERGY IN A CONTROLLED MANNER.
