I discovered your channel yesterday! Your artwork is stunning, your patience is exceptional. I can't get over how large some of your projects are! You are an excellent teacher. Thank you so much! I am not a beginner but since my husband passed away I have not felt like painting, drawing anymore. I have been watching art tutorials again for inspiration and your videos most certainly inspire:) After looking at your website I see you are a fellow British Columbian. I live on Vancouver Island. I may get to see your art in person one day which would be amazing!
Oh that's fantastic, you're just a jump away from my tiny island, my studio will be opened in the summer, come by if you can. Also, about your journey, be kind to yourself, take the moment to breathe and pick up the pencils when you feel inspired but not pushed. I send you best. Cheers
Lovely vid. I had commented on another video on using wc pencils and asked about using them on Pastelmat-Clairfontaine. One of the reasons is that the layers that are transparent do show through like you have been teaching. Wc does indeed work on Pastelmat. Of course it doesn’t behave as wc paper but works just as well for toning and the layers especially since it stays right where it is put but as I mentioned I only did my multimedia on wc paper with wc and cp. I do use pastels as well but love more the flow of wc with the cp. It is good to know because sometimes our supply of a certain paper may run low but thank you for your courtesy Jeanette as a multimedia artist for years I have taken backlash as you know from those who just don’t feel it necessary to try to wrap their minds around the fact that these methods do indeed last. I feel very happy to see this. Another point is some of us have maladies that make doing massive drawings in cp a challenge physically. I have one of the considered worst ones that twists my bones. Thank you ❤
I am so sorry to hear of your malady, please take care of yourself and many thanks for sharing your process and journey, it is always good to read what others are doing with this medium. Cheers J
Like always ma'am your instructions were pretty clear and the results are impressive too. After discovering your channel , I again started to try color pencils. And i can actually see the results. Your voice is soothing too while i draw with your instructions. Would love if you plan to do live sessions in future.
Thanks so much 😊 and greetings back from the cool, BURRR, Pacific North West, Canada, it is always wonderful to hear from folks when they let me know where they are from. YEAH!!! Cheers
It’s really hard being on camera, awkward is for sure how it feels so putting in anything for a laugh is always fun, so glad you got it. Thanks for the comment. Cheers
I love your art style so much!! ❤ -I really hope that the next tutorial would be a flower again- at best a really detailed one😁- because the flower tutorials on your channel that are available I have already tried ro replicate😅😁
Wow! Thank you 🙏 for this great video! Your skills in both drawing and teaching are impressive! Would you please give me a recomendation? I am a beginner colored pencil artist on a tight budget. At the moment I cant affort a full set of polychromos pencils and where I live it is difficult to find cheaper alternatives of similar quality. Does it make sence to start drawing with the much cheaper faber castell pencils (eco line, 48 colors) or is it better to directly start with upscale pencils but only buy less colors (lets say 10)? Thank you very much
Hello and I completely understand, it is important to remember budget. I have several videos that teach to a limited color palette, the apple one for instance, a bit older, not the same video quality, but a great walk through on limited palette, so my recommendation, if you can afford it is the set of 12 Polychromos, Faber-Castell. It is a great starter set and the pigment quality will be that much better. Also, if you don't know already, you can buy all these professional pencils open stock, so once you can afford let's say another 4 or 2 or even 1 at a time add to it, most art stores, big and small will have the Polychromos open stock, you can add as you can afford. Don't be deterred from the smaller set, in the end you'll be happy with the quality and craftsmanship of the professional pencils. Cheers
You are so welcome! Hopefully this has sparked an interest and some information. You can also layer watercolour pencils on top of coloured pencils. Don't be worried, give it a try. I will be doing more videos with both media in the future. Thanks for watching, cheers
Fantastic. I find your tutorials very helpful. I was wondering, do you have any plans regarding your own Patreon Channel? I think this would be a great idea and prove to be very popular. Thanks for taking the time and sharing 👍
Yes for sure. However at the moment I'm finalizing 3 large virtual courses that will be available through my website www.jeannettesirois.com. After that, Patreon is next on my list. Many thanks for the encouragement and thanks for watching. Cheers

Thank you for fast answer, then I will follow your recomendation and buy the 12 set of polychromos.
The apple drawn with only six colors looks great!
Thank you so much for the video. I have recently received watercolor pencils and am a little lost as to when I can use them with other media.

@@Drawingwithcolour , thank you!
This is called a blue tit in UK and is a very common bird at bird table and feeders
It’s such a lovely little bird, we don’t see them here in Western Canada. Cheers
