The tritone in there gives the exercise a "twilight zone" flavour! Another great exercise to incorporate in my daily practice. Thanks Josh!

Thanks Josh, another great video, can you make a video about how to get a warmer passive tone out of active pickups, I certainly have that problem. Thanks.

Great idea Hector, that's something I've thought about a lot over the years and am still playing with. The obvious solution being to take my P-bass out of the closet occasionally, but I'm not one for the obvious solution apparently. :)

Muff Evans yeah I know right!!!! It's a little hard, I have a Jackson CBX, with 2 EMG humbuckers, they're pretty loud so I'm to get a jazzier tone, any suggestions???😩

Only one really, Neck humbucker and wind the tone pretty much off to taste. Same with the amp. EQ shape like a kids slide left to right?

Josh I gnarled my fingers back into shape.

this video is pretty old so i'm not sure you'll see my comment but here i go anyways, i just recently got myself a bass and i've never played a guitar before so it's a bit difficult for me, the thing is my hand is pretty small(?) compared to yours ig since i'm a teenage girl, anyways, i can't have my fingers resting on 2 notes with a space between them, i'm not sure how to explain this but for example i can't have my fingers touching both the G and A at the same time because there's a lot of space between them, or at least it's very difficult, so i wanted to ask if you had any advice for that ?

Congrats on getting a bass! That's totally normal, it takes practice to get your hand good at stretching out even if you have big hands. You should check out some female bass players with small hands and see how they make it work! Rhonda Smith and Tal Wilkenfeld are a couple off the top of my head.

At 4.55 did you just sneak in 9 to 5? Crafty.

It was just a generic one note bass line, probably sounds like a few thousand different songs. :) Didn't even catch the Dolly Parton option, was probably thinking Everyday People or something. Nice catch. :)

Hey, I found your rawfoodfreedom channel the other day, but I noticed the comment field was turned of on all of the videos. Any special reason? I'm a vegan myself (not raw yet though) so that was how I found it. On the channel you speak a lot about anarchism which I don't really know what I think about so I wanted to read the comments too!

Hey Ida, nice to hear from another vegan. I turned off comments on RFF because I was getting too many obnoxious troll comments and I wasn't interested in dealing with it any more! I always welcome people to write to me directly if they really want to talk, and while that's reduced the amount of positive feedback I get to hear, I get a 100% reduction in trolls, which improves my quality of life. :) Email me if you want to chat anarchy, I'd be happy to answer any questions I can. Larken Rose, Mark Passio, and Stefan Molyneux are good places to start too (easy to find on YT).

Ah, I see! Hahaha yeah that must be a bummer, seems like you can't express your opinion on youtube (or anywhere really). Thanks, I will definitely check it out! :)

You're vegan, play bass AND have a banana tattoo??? Some people got it all!
I love your videos, Josh, they're clear, helpful and very entertaining! Thank you for your time, and thanks for being you! :)
