Who would want Alice, as a friend and housekeeper? I definitely know i would Alice nelson, is the best friend and housekeeper that anybody could have. Long live the late great miss. Ann b. Davis, you miss. Davis are sorely missed rest in peace miss.davis (Alice).
Don't forget that what is now known as the Back Door colloquially used to be called the Service Door. This was where the servants were expected to come into the home, and often lead directly to the areas where the servant worked (Broom Closet, Laundry Room, Kitchen) and if the servant was live-in, it also lead directly to their bedroom. It's also why many older homes have 2 sets of stairs. It was so the servant could access the upstairs rooms without crossing through the family living and entertaining spaces to to do their work, and usually that 2nd stairwell was located in the Kitchen and/or back door/service door.
*From what i remember, Ann B Davis never got married and had a twin sister. She always kept her dignity too and was a good sport about the remakes. Nice lady*
She later gave up Hollywood and went to live in an Episcopal community in Denver, where she spent her later years helping the homeless. You have to admire that.
Don't lament too much, though. While manners were generally more valued back then, men also believed they were superior to women, and females "had their place".
The view outside Alice's bedroom seemed to change between just a few episodes. Here we see a washing machine and shelf full of laundry detergents and related products just outside her door, but just four episodes later. where the kids are trying to haunt the house to keep their parents from selling it, the view is just a hallway with paintings,
Peanut butter and pickle, hmm must be one of Jans inventions, as in the famous peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Back in my home, jelly is called jam. When I was younger, I thought it was her name, since I couldn’t pronounce it properly. That’s what probably gave the idea to Steptoe & Son, on upstairs, downstairs,74, When Harold offers to make a sandwich. Steptoe says anything. He was offered corned beef, cheese and onion but turns them down and he offers Jans one. Eww. Your a genius and sweet as Plumb Jan.
I bet Sam had a Raging Salmon when he walked out to the patio with Alice... BOI-YO-YOING,..!!! MR Brady was in the Den with Greg,... You know,.. having that special man to man TOUCH, I mean talk..
Jason Vancura The word gay had a different meaning back then. It’s terrible the way words have been bastardized. Btw, that word has a different meaning too.
@@adamcolebaybayboom7846 No it doesn't; not the peanut butter I eat and not the peanut butter I remember seeing. I read ingredients on everything in containers I consume. Butter has milk in it and I don't eat butter. I've been vegan for 33 years; there's no way I'd make a mistake like eating dairy without realizing it. Have a nice day.
I love Alice SO MUCH !!!
Love it ..just the line "old maid" is so priceless!

The best show in the 70 so. Loved the Brady bunch. I loved Sam and Alice 💙❤️
R.I.P Ann B Davis, funny as hell!!!
So cute. Love this show
I love the Brady Bunch so much ❤
This scene is so bliss 💪🙌💙💛
Alice is the best!
First time I've ever seen Alice's bedroom off the laundry room!! :)

I would imagine Alice's bedroom got flooded with laundry soap suds that time when Bobby overfilled the washing machine with soap!
@@jeffreybaker100 Also from Sam's jizz!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

She was also on the Bob Cummings show before this.
@@mthiviershe made a cameo appearance in the Brady bunch movie.
@@cameronduff884 She won 2 emmys working on that show!
Men had more respect than today
Men didn’t judge women like today.
Don't lament too much, though. While manners were generally more valued back then, men also believed they were superior to women, and females "had their place".
Awwww Sam. I always loved Allan Melvin.
He did great work on All in the Family as Barney Hefner too.
I remember him at least twice on the Andy Griffith show, he was a army recruiter wanting to insist Ernest TBass and then a bully messing with Barney.
I liked the man who owned the ice cream shop better, he liked her too.
Sam and Alice make a gr8 couple together.
Every time I see his face I think of the cowardly lion, even though I know it wasn't him who played it. He could've though.
That was nice of Sam to come by to drop off some flowers and meat
Did you see Bobby and Cindy hold hands😘 aww
Cute
They were adorable!
I peep it awww
You should have seen what they did off screen! lol
3:06 I love seeing the six kids all looking so happy for Alice together
70s r the Best
Cindy had the funniest line when she said "old maid"

Every maid likes to have a view of the washing machines and the various soaps and detergents. It makes them happy.

Jelly is a solid juice spread. Jam has seeds.
@@danicegewiss862I think jam is usually called preserves on labels.
I suspect that Sam delivered some salami to Alice that night.
2022 Rules forever 👍.

They make no bones about it
Mike was really entertaining Butch in his Den.
Who is Butch? Lol
Mike is waiting till Alice is done to get some meat from the butcher
Oh Alice!
Rotten Otto and Dirty Destiny?
whats that background music?
The music score of The First Season was great!!
@@5171967cafk They played that one in the background any time they did a romantic scene during the first season.
I like Marcia’s outfit.
It's part of her Stage Attire & Wardrobe.

Gregg was busy schtupping Marcia
Alice n Sam gone fuhhhgg
Ok right good 👍
This time Alice had the meat metaphor instead of Sam.
Right now I've got the gayest nose in town! LOL
I LOL hard at that, too. xD
Shame how nice words have been turned into vulgar ones....
flamingpie herman Agree 100%!
I beg to differ with you Alice, you haven't met my co workers.
Jason Vancura The word gay had a different meaning back then. It’s terrible the way words have been bastardized. Btw, that word has a different meaning too.
Sam and Alice made a great couple. Too bad he never proposed but kept her dangling.
Sam and Alice did get married. She mentioned that on the TV movie years later when Marcia and Jan were both getting married on the same day
That would be the end of the
Brady Bunch !
Allan Melvin

Hey WOW man, don't be offended but you reminded me of a old joke..what do you call a vegetarian with diarrhea?.....a salad shooter......forgive me.
I think I could eat anything that Eve Plumb might offer me!
sam the butcher wasn't too bright, was he?
Alice does look like Ellen DeGeneres - are they related?
I kinda doubt it, Ellen has the most unique blue eyes. (but at least Alice is heterosexual)
Actually Robert Reed had the gayest nose in town. I'm just saying.
