Your paintings have so much individual personality in them, they feel comfortable-- almost familiar. How you accomplish this I don't know. But It isn't entirely from the subjects. There is information about perspective, light, composition and about brush strokes. It's somewhat impressionistic but not entirely and a good balance. Anyway, very fun and informative to watch.

Yes, I wrestle with how impressionistic vs. "tight" to leave the painting....I think we all just settle at the point where we are comfortable with the result....the most important thing is to get the values, drawing, perspective accurate....and then one can be as loose or tight as suits their artistic personality.
