Part 3 will be up soon! I'm sharing everything in real time so please be patient as I continue to work on this project and finalize something my client allows me to share 🥹
yeah corporate logos are the most lifeless boring shit i've ever seen. idk what the obsession with a "mature logo" is, it's a coffee shop, not a retirement home. your logos are so cute and definitely fit the cozy cafe vibe!
Its brand recognition, the simpler the logo the higher chance its recognized or even seen by mistake. A red and orange circle? Oh thats master card. A yellow m? Thats macdonalds.
@@coldpotatoes9687 sure but i don't think simple and minimalistic are mutually exclusive. you can have a simple logo that still looks cute and is easily recognized. for example, the original logo for firefox the web browser was cute while still being extremely recognizable.
@@coldpotatoes9687 i agree brand recognition works well, especially for larger chains like the ones you mentioned- but the silly little guy in the coffee shop logo seems like a sweet thing to remember. "little stressed guy with his coffee? oh, that's my local coffee shop!" it just feels and sounds cuter, and works well. but as x4v said, corporate logos work well in certain situations. its just up to the client. ^^
“it won’t pass a class” so real that is why ive been afraid to design anything outside the classroom&/corporate standards 😢 thank u so much for this video! it’s great to see & know that there are clients whose preferences are beyond those.
Enjoy all these designs, my personal favourite is: "the little tired dude with sunglasses resting in a mug warm of coffee". All the best for all of your projects. Can't wait to find out the final choice 🥰.
the second set feel way more genuine and personal, im glad you had the opportunity to put that into your work! so sad that this is lost in many parts of the design world.
Your simple designs are super cool. They evoke a fun and creative feeling. Clearly the shop owner can have a preference and it sounds like you are helping him see it which is great. Your open attitude to the feedback is something I could add in my life.
So glad this is progressing so well. At a certain point you have to let go of what would be 'acceptable' to hand in to class, and just be in more communication with your client. After all, the client's business is successful enough for them to want to seek out someone like you, so they must know what they're doing. And who knows, maybe the design you do today will be tomorrow's new design trend to follow (and inspire others).
I'll be visiting the coffee shop now after following this whole series. I'm sure I'm not the only one... Your client is really getting their money's worth. 👏👏👍
The new mascot type designs are SO cute! They really make for a welcoming feeling shop, instead of "Come in, spend money, get out" that a lot of the more boring ones feel.
Love them and if your client does too then a logo winner it is. Don’t let anyone tell you that your work isn’t professional “enough” for the client you know.
i love this! I've also never liked logos where it's text and a logo next to it and done. I myself struggle with designs too so i loves how you solved it why finding something to chain them together (pouring into the logo etc)!
That creates a language,a distinctive one, which can expand. it's very powerful as identity. It's more than a logo. Just choose one nice and fun of the ones you created. It will add value it will transmit values.
artists like you are the reason i stay inspired to become an artist and design logos... i hope i can be as cool as you someday! keep up the great work and i'm excited for part three! ❤
Lol your second designs are so funny, cute, and relatable 😂 it would be even better if the coffee shop had the same series of logo stickers for purchase!
All that matters is that the client likes the logo. Local shops are very clever and innovative in their branding. I like the logo with the coffee cup on the head and the one after it in the video. Good luck on the final product. It seems like you're in the home stretch!
I love this look, big box corporate bold caps text all look the same to me and tell me nothing but having the mascot is really fun and i can identify with it more emotionally
You’re amazing. Impressed at how you took the constructive criticism to heart. Also, i think you could use the several designs you came up with and rotate them over time. Not for the outside sign, but for to go cups, napkins, tee shirts etc.
I'm ngl babes, those are ALL killer designs. Even the first few you showed would make me look twice at the coffee shop and visit it. People underestimate how logos catch people's eyes.
I love these series honestly. As a creative writer, I feel dejected the most when I receive feedback that my content doesn’t resonates. But I like your approach to taking feedback constructively. If you can make a series on how creators can keep that spark alive while dealing with harsh criticism, it would change my life.❤
I love this coffee shop. I used to work one street over and would go there for my 3 pm fix. They had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that were the perfect size, and the iced latte was just the way I liked it. I miss going there!
A design class rubric? Who cares? It looks good! It serves its function by being cute and memorable. It is readable and understandable. Only people who should care about rubrics are students, and it stops at school work.
Part 3 will be up soon! I'm sharing everything in real time so please be patient as I continue to work on this project and finalize something my client allows me to share 🥹
Can’t wait 😍❤❤❤
Ur awesome keep it up!
Oh, that's awesome, this was my go-to coffee place before the Blink Fitness next to it closed down last year
💃💃💃💃
What's your course when you're in college?
i would much rather go to a coffee shop with that logo than the chain ones 🤷♀️
100 % . I refuse to go to chains
we've got plenty of little mom and pop shops really working their ass off
I would much rather not give a shit about logos and go wherever the coffee is good
Same! There is authenticity to it
Frrrr
faxx no printer
What a relatable looking mascot.
"Stressed and tired? Come inside and have a coffee."
yeah corporate logos are the most lifeless boring shit i've ever seen. idk what the obsession with a "mature logo" is, it's a coffee shop, not a retirement home. your logos are so cute and definitely fit the cozy cafe vibe!
agreed!
Corporate logos work in the right situations. Not for a coffee shop.
Its brand recognition, the simpler the logo the higher chance its recognized or even seen by mistake. A red and orange circle? Oh thats master card. A yellow m? Thats macdonalds.

Your work does not “lack maturity”, it’s beautiful and don’t let anyone knock you down.
“it won’t pass a class” so real that is why ive been afraid to design anything outside the classroom&/corporate standards 😢 thank u so much for this video! it’s great to see & know that there are clients whose preferences are beyond those.
Designs that will "pass a class" won't even matter in the real working world if the customers hates that kind of designs.
THATS SO FUN!! these came out very cute, and I can’t wait to see any of them out in the street 🥰
I love this reality of working for your client’s needs, not what others will say are the client’s needs
As a fellow Designer I love these❤. These kinds of illustration Designs are also part of my portfolio. They fit so well for coffeeshops, bakery’s etc.
The bird is so cute omg
Enjoy all these designs, my personal favourite is: "the little tired dude with sunglasses resting in a mug warm of coffee". All the best for all of your projects.
Can't wait to find out the final choice 🥰.
seeing one of these cuties on a sign would definitely get me to walk into a coffee shop
I love the guy pouring coffee while standing up
Very cute, cool project
I visit king street all the time when im in the neighborhood! Looking forward to seeing the new logo the next time I stop in .
Its always about the artist and the client. Not jealous people online. Keep smashing it 💜🙌
Isnt it about the customer in the end?
You could include a little Basquiat crown to include NY art history and tie in the “kings”
I love them!! So very cute
the second set feel way more genuine and personal, im glad you had the opportunity to put that into your work! so sad that this is lost in many parts of the design world.
Love the iteration and how you totally pivoted after listening to the customer. Love all these 2nd gen designs. #6
Your simple designs are super cool. They evoke a fun and creative feeling.
Clearly the shop owner can have a preference and it sounds like you are helping him see it which is great.
Your open attitude to the feedback is something I could add in my life.
I love these strange little guys so much! You ate fr fr with these designs. I wouldn’t have thought of these for "mascot." They look really fresh!
I love the one with the mascot lying in the coffee pot.
They're really cute and somewhat whimsical which is exactly what makes them so great
So glad this is progressing so well. At a certain point you have to let go of what would be 'acceptable' to hand in to class, and just be in more communication with your client. Can’t wait for part 3, I love these designs
I love that you didn’t let it get you down but you chose to communicate more.❤
The way you're talking about rejected design and your try to get inspiration is inspiring to me
I love the one with the person taking a dip in the coffee cup ☺️whimsical and fun!
Yeah I love it especially the ones where the mascot is in coffee. It's like his soul is in the coffee.❤
Omg. I love that little guy.
It’s so inspiring that you’re able to do what you love everyday while living in the big city. I love that for you.
I’m still loving the incorporation of that stylish hat!!
Amazing job for coming this far Cait! Can’t wait to see the final result of this project 🫶
I'll be visiting the coffee shop now after following this whole series. I'm sure I'm not the only one... Your client is really getting their money's worth. 👏👏👍
Ohmygawd I really liked no. 6. No. 5 was the cutest. So hopefully these two win
the design is beautiful and creative👍
I love the one with the bird pouring coffee, it's so cute!
The new mascot type designs are SO cute! They really make for a welcoming feeling shop, instead of "Come in, spend money, get out" that a lot of the more boring ones feel.
My favourite was the one wearing the cup. It was so cute ☺️
I also loved the detail of having the poored coffee become the apostrophe!
You’re such an inspiration. I think 5 is so cute!
Your logos are absolutely amazing!!! So fun and yet still professional!!!!
The one where the person is in the cup and holding sunglasses, that one 😊
These have so much more personality and character than those standard simplified versions. Love them! ❤
Glad you stuck with your intuition 👌
They look great! Its cool seeing the tired guy as a face for the shop, but i also love the bird 👍
I love the one with the apron but for square-like publicity the tired one holding the cup with eyes is also great 😊
Love them and if your client does too then a logo winner it is. Don’t let anyone tell you that your work isn’t professional “enough” for the client you know.
Can't wait to see what the owner finally went with for his store.
i love this! I've also never liked logos where it's text and a logo next to it and done. I myself struggle with designs too so i loves how you solved it why finding something to chain them together (pouring into the logo etc)!
I LOVE designs number 2 and 6!!! i hope it’s one of those
Yes!! So cute 🤍🤍🤍
I like happy stories.
excited for part 3 !!!
I love the duck pouring coffee so much. Its sooooo cuuute.
Those logos are so cute
2 and 6 were my favorites
That creates a language,a distinctive one, which can expand. it's very powerful as identity. It's more than a logo. Just choose one nice and fun of the ones you created. It will add value it will transmit values.
I think each one of your designs would make me want to go into that coffee shop for sure!!
the bird one is just so cute!!❤
Once again here to recommend King Street Coffee bc it’s sooooo good! The avacado toast and cappuccino ❤️
Hard to choose a favorite!❤️
I love the revised designs. I want to visit this coffee shop in my October NYC trip now lol
that's why I love korea. they love the cute designs I'm into
artists like you are the reason i stay inspired to become an artist and design logos... i hope i can be as cool as you someday! keep up the great work and i'm excited for part three! ❤
Design 3 is the winner!
Love them all. Design 1 and 2 would have me stopping on the streets amd be curious. Design 4 is a very close runner up
Really enjoyed watching ur explanation and ur thought process
Lol your second designs are so funny, cute, and relatable 😂 it would be even better if the coffee shop had the same series of logo stickers for purchase!

Awwww they’re cute!!!!!!! I love them 🥰🥰
Wait. The logos in this video are just amazing!!!!
Love your work and videos. Greetings from Barcelona 🌞
I like the last drawing with the guy in the coffee cup.
People underestimate how logos catch people's eyes.
its cute its like a adventure time theme esk design.
i'd 100% go to a coffee shop with a cute logo like this!
An artist living in NYC, sounds awesome
I liked 3,5,6 a lot! they were clever and cute ❤
OMG I love the little coffee cup as the crown
Love the bird!
Good for you! Love your art!
Loved your designs in my country I haven't seen logos so nice and cute as yours
I love these series honestly. As a creative writer, I feel dejected the most when I receive feedback that my content doesn’t resonates. But I like your approach to taking feedback constructively. Enjoy ☺️

This is such a great real-life example. Many times, I feel that when we go strictly by the rules, we become designers designing for designers.
I think your designs look lovely!
All of them are just magnificent . I would also go to a cafe with a such a logo than a cafe with more mature logo honestly
I love the pipe mug and the hot tub mug guys!
A design class rubric? Who cares? It looks good! It serves its function by being cute and memorable. It is readable and understandable. Only people who should care about rubrics are students, and it stops at school work.
I love the bird pouring coffee.
really love the feeling of the 2nd one and cause the cup sorta looks like a makeshift crown
I like all of those designs, some better than the others but they are all super cute!
So happy for you they all look amazing
Key takeaway.. serve the client over industry standard. 💎
✨I love it
2, 3 and 6 have my whole heart
Aww they're so cute !!
