Hey pal, I have a 2019 BRZ and crashed it in training. Now I also have to take out the engine for swaping the beam on the right side. Is there a way to contact you to get some instructions of the removal of the engine (connections, points of where the engine is screwed etc)?
How bad was it disconnecting the harness? A ton of connectors or no? Also did you have to pull anything off for the motor to clear the engine bay? Just curious in case i ever have to rebuild my motor.
Was this engine NA, boosted? How many miles? We’re you the first and only owner. I want to know what makes these engines fail or if their all design flaws and all or most of these engines will blow.
My BRZ blew cylinder 3 bone stock at 55k on the clock. The total cost to have Subaru remove the engine, rebuild it, and reinstall it in the car came to $8500ish. I could check the receipt for an exact number if you're curious. So, when all's said and done, if you're under that number you can roughly calculate how much you saved.

Just finished removing the engine today from the bay, took about 12 hours total along with the help of someone. The fly wheel bolts were the hardest part, definitely not fun nor easy. Probably going to spend the next 3 - 4 days putting the new engine
I still think you put the turbo fa20 from the white Frs into the BRZ and keep the BRZ a nice street car. Then do the oblivious thing and 2JZ swap the white Frs.
The gas in the AC system can kill you if you inhale too much of it almost immediately, no joke. No way it would have done harm to you since the ventilation was so good but that shit is seriously deadly.
Honestly speaking it shouldn't happen when stock, but anything can happen. With boost it's highly likely as you add miles. That's why my next mod is to rebuild my engine with rods, pistons, studs, bearings and gaskets. That way even if I boost it for a while the car will be good for a long time.

Well there is your problem.... K&N oil & airfilter... yeah greater flow initially with poor filtration = high performance temprorary with increased wear & soon engine replacement.... simples 😋 No free lunch in this WORLD.

Just a suggestion if you ever do this again, just disconnect the shifter from the transmission. A lot simpler than taking out the center console.
