    Id like to see budget build for the DIY crowd. No crates. Inexpensive, fast, reliable and loud. Donor LS1+T56 car and walk through how to determine if and how extensive to rebuild the drivetrain Bonus: how to get rid of the remains of the donor.

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 роки тому

      hmmmmm, great suggestion for sure. didn't think about incorporating the donor car aspect. We are constantly tearing down donor cars here so would not be hard to do if we decided to go a route like that. Thanks for the ideas!

    Sure you could go absolutely crazy, but why not do a super budget build? That's what most of us can actually afford, and if we can watch this and picture ourselves doing it, I think that might sell! Like why not a junkyard LQ that you do a quick refresh on? And then show the most cost effective t-56?

    • @SikkyTV

      Yes, starting to see a trend with that suggestion. Budget build might be the way we go. At least initially ;)

    A high reving de-stroked LS3 with a CD09 was what I was thinking of building. 265’s are about the max you can get on the car without a body kit so no need to worry about the torque loss of a lower displacement engine. High rpm naturally aspirated would make a great weekend track car. LS3/T56 is great but it would be nice to see something different.

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 роки тому +1

      T56 Magnum F is the way to go if it's in the budget. The TR6060 is a great trans but it's a bit tall as far as the housing is concerned and the way the shifter sit on it there is some tunnel clearancing that is needed so will require some cutting and a little extra work. The regular t56 and the magnum F are the most bolt in friendly of the options.

    • @SikkyTV

      If you mean use the stock FRS trans then no. Too weak of a transmission. Also, no adapter from LS to that stock trans. Doubt anyone would ever make either since it’s a very weak trans. Fortunately there are plenty of good options you can use. Why do you want to keep the stock one?

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 роки тому

      Yeah love the tr6060 trans but only issue is it does not fit that good in this car. It fits and works but you need to mod the tunnel top side a little for clearance. Plenty have been done this way just don't expect tr6060 to be bolt in. The trans is set at the theoretical perfect angle but you could space the trans cross member down a little to gain more clearance at the top of the trans but your getting away from ideal geometry as far as the driveshaft and U joints are concerned in relation to the rear end.

    I think a 4l80 with a 6.2 truck motor that would show what most guys would do

    • @SikkyTV
      @SikkyTV  4 роки тому

      Yeah I like the idea of the more budget minded build. 4l80 will likely be a tight fit in that tunnel though. We never tested a 4l80 just a 6l80 and 4l60.
