BTW i know exactly what hes did done i know that gearbox and its bigger brother thats the old proper 5 speed Grand Vitara and Toyota LC and Isuzu 4x4s. It doesnt like being pushed sideways to find a gear, its a stirry box so if you are quick shifting in it you need to go diagonal direction and not force it sideways then up or down like a forced shift that you rely on the gate to snick the gear home. Hes been ramming it the wrong way and its locked him out.

Why do you spam this channel with wrong info? the 205 never came with a 16v engine it was a 1.6 or 1.9 8v at very most 130bhp, even if you swapped them to carbs the twin webbers they got about 144bhp. The 16v engine that had 155-160bhp was from the 405 it was called the Mi16 engine and a lot of people grabbed them out of bashed and scrap 405s and put them in the 205s as they slotted right in minimal fuss next to no welding all aftermarket engine mounts etc so became a popular upgrade on them. Not one 1.6 or 1.9 variant of 205 was ever fitted with the Mi16 160bhp lump so quit talking tripe man.

You should do a drag race with all GTI's Peugeot has ever produced, such as 205 GTI, 206 GTI/RC, 306 GTI, 309 GTI and maybe also the 208 and 308 GTI but it would be lovely to see the GTI of the 80's and 90's race together

I miss my 1.9 GTI. First proper hot hatch I owned. Not particularly fast but it didn't need to be. Could put a smile on your face on any B road without breaking the speed limit.
the 1.9 with the webber carb swap was fast dude so was my Mi16 swapped one. Took a tuned Sierra/Escort cosworth to beat my mi16 swapped 205. It wasted all the usual 2.0 16v stuff like Astra GTE like they were nothing and was beating Cavy and Calibra Turbos. Tell you what the mi16 205 could hang with neck and neck if you remember the rover 400 and 600s with the T series engine. Yeah that was about the same. They were fast cars dude like i said it took a cossie to take down a well tuned golf mk2 gti or 205Gti even on carb swap
The 16valve engine wasn't actually available in the 205, it was in the 405 mi16, of which sadly many were pillaged for the engine and then scrapped to put the engine into a 205. The 405mi16 is a much rarer car than the 205 gti because of that.

I had the diesel 205, 1.7. Awesome little car. The light weight and diesel torque made it a delight on roundabouts and twisty stuff, even at sensible speeds.
boy in the stock Jimny is a wet flannel. Sams the man though i didnt even like him at first back years ago when i first heard or seen his face but he's the man hes a grower.
you want the older Grand Vitara a great one waa the latter proper 4x4 one in UK was sold 06 till 09. The ones after looked simmilar but became more SUV than 4x4. The best offroad Suzuki Vehicle there is is 06 GV it decimates Jimnys but needs bigger tyres and 50mm lift kit for £450-800 for the best lift kits including new shocks. The older GV is much more refined than Jimny it does 100mph motorway no sweat even on big offroad tyres and has massively more towing capability so 2.2-2.5ton compared to a ton.

jimny is not made for speed kids. Suzuki have motorbikes for that that can blow the doors off your favourite "performance car" If you buy a jimny to drag race on the road you are a toolbag end of

I'm 20 seconds in, and so have no idea of the result, but the fact is - I actually own a Peugeot 205 1.9GTi, and it will always be the winner to me - no matter the outcome!!!! (Though I don't think I've ever been more excited about a potential result!! Haha!!).

Peugeot 205 1.9 (16v version) was my first new car in 1990 and still one of the most memorable! Great video - would have been interesting to put it up against the equivalent Golf GTI (1.8) from that period - I also owned a MkI Golf GTI 1.6 Mki (the original GTi) but preferred the 205!

1.9 GTI was always 8 valves, never 16 valves. Many dropped in the engine from the 309 GTI 16V, or 405MI16

The 205 gti, 1.6 and 1.9 is a 8 valves, (XU9JA); the 16v version of the 1.9 was released in the 309 gti 16 & 405 mi16 (XU9J*4*) but not in the 205 gti

205 was never 16 valve. However people did a mi16 conversion from the 405
205 T16 200 units of street car built for the purpose of homologation. The engine was a twin-cam 16-valve turbo four.

I had 2 205 GTI 1.9, a G and H reg both in Cherry Red. They were 8v not 16v 👍
The 16v was in the 405 mi16 or the 309 GTi 16 if I remember correctly. Although I think some people have put 16v into the 205
