What program are you using for the green screen tech? And can you change the background of the embedded webcam with the green screen to make it more interesting? Thanks!
Hi Andy, I use Screenflow for my UA-cam videos, which allows you to chromakey out the green. Unfortunately Screencastify doesn't off chromakey yet, though I suspect at some point in the future they will, or some sort of virtual background.
@@NewEdTechClassroom you mentioned in this video that you will be doing another video using the Screenflow program. When will it be created? With summer coming and having this time to explore and create, I would love to see it as I find your videos very helpful to learn from.

Hi Meghan, so sorry for the long delay in responding here. You can find your screencastify videos in a folder in your Google Drive called Screencastify. As far as showing two tabs at once, your best bet is to split your screen. You can use a screen splitter like Tab Resize to split your screen into different parts (e.g. halves or quadrants).

I want to know how you have made yourself float on screen. I have a green screen and know it is a green screen effect but I would like to know you you did it. Would you be able to advise please?
Yes, it's just me in front of a green screen and then using chromakey to edit out the green, minimizing my size, and overlaying my video on top of a screencast!
Could you please elaborate on that? Or could make a separate video for this? I hoped that there are screen recording programs which have this as an integrated feature.
You can edit with the free version, and the video length is actually only 5min for the free version. That being said, an easy work around to to simply make a Part I or Part II tutorial. Though if you are regularly making long video tutorials, it would probably merit purchasing the paid version (it's pretty cheap). I've only ever used the free version myself though!

Is there a way to use screencastify to record off an android that I'm using as a document camera? I teach prek and need to show them what i'm doing with manipulatives.
Did you make a video for the students on how THEY can record (a speech or something that uses the camera to record them)? If so, are you willing to share it with me so I can watch it and either use it or make one of my own based on it?
Hi Kat, I do actually have a whole separate channel for student tutorials, so you should definitely check that out here: ua-cam.com/channels/Lgkzdg1YtJBMD-A080N1xg.html Here is the direct link to the tutorial on my preferred screen recording program, Loom: ua-cam.com/video/ch91tjVVuNE/v-deo.html
Thank you for the video! I do have a question. If I’m screen casting a math lesson, is my only choice for writing on the screen, using my finger? Is there any type of wireless “pencil” I could use? My writing will be awful using my finger, especially for math work.
I make math videos on my iPad using the built-in screen recording app. I can use the Apple Pencil and my writing looks just like it does IRL. The kids can’t see my face, though.
Thank you Suzette! How did I not know there was a built in recording app?!?! I have an apple pencil also!!! I'd SOO much rather use that! What do you write on? Could you give me a little more info? This sounds exactly what I'm looking for!

I loved it thanks how can I make a video using my document camera
You're welcome! When your doc camera is plugged into your computer, it should show up as an option in the drop-down menu under browser tabs.
Hi, I wanted to ask which is better, screen-cast-o-matic or Screencastify? I want to use it to continue doing Biblical Hebrew Tutorials for my UA-cam channel. Thank You
Loom! ua-cam.com/video/Xxxrv0W0TLQ/v-deo.html
Thank you
Is there a way to use screencastify to record off an android that I'm using as a document camera? I teach prek and need to show them what i'm doing with manipulatives.
No, unfortunately it's not compatible with Android or iOS. Loom is working on building an Android app.
Great. Thanks!
You're very welcome, thank you for watching!
Did you make a video for the students on how THEY can record (a speech or something that uses the camera to record them)? If so, are you willing to share it with me so I can watch it and either use it or make one of my own based on it?
Hi Kat, I do actually have a whole separate channel for student tutorials, so you should definitely check that out here: ua-cam.com/channels/Lgkzdg1YtJBMD-A080N1xg.html
Here is the direct link to the tutorial on my preferred screen recording program, Loom: ua-cam.com/video/ch91tjVVuNE/v-deo.html
Thank you for the video! I do have a question. If I’m screen casting a math lesson, is my only choice for writing on the screen, using my finger? Is there any type of wireless “pencil” I could use? My writing will be awful using my finger, especially for math work.
You might want to try another program like Explain Everything for teaching a math lesson online: explaineverything.com/
Hi, its very useful video......how can i add back ground music to my lecture video?
Check out Screencast-o-Matic for a screencast tool with more advanced editing options.
How do I make myself look like my background is the screen I am sharing like you did?
Hi Amanda, I actually recently put out a video about how I do it! ua-cam.com/video/qgtBjdu_usc/v-deo.html
The software I use is called Screenflow if you're interested in checking it out here (full disclosure, this is an affiliate link, so The New EdTech Classroom would receive a portion of the sale if you were to decide to move forward with a subscription!): telestream.8bx6ag.net/c/2242743/352742/4900
