Great tutorial, good pace and clear instructions. Any ideas on how to get the splines renderable in Arnold though? TyFlow Mesh hasn't helped nor has changing geometry mode from Tube to Mesh in the Spline Mesher options.
Edit: Just FYI, they render in scanline but not Arnold.
Edit 2: Figured it out. Apply tySplineExtrude to the tySpline.

FumeFX still have best solver, but its developer is "stubborn mule" and he did not catch trends and ideas and his software is nearly same as 10 years ago. he made just some improvements in last releases but it is late and Fume is nearly dead. PhoenixFD is great for quick setups and have more realistic vorticity, but i think it have ugliest solver I worked with, but still usable... lowres simulations are unusable without motion blur because they ar blocky looking(voxels)... FumeFX was usable sometimes even with lowres sims.
Rayfire is still good for shuttering objects... still have more options than tyFlow or Thinking Particles for quick object shutter, but its physic is just key animation based and not that flexible as tyFlow can be.
