It's amazing how people work. Here you have this synth, it's amazingly capable, sounds amazing, is really functional, is built extremely well, and it doesn't cost 5 grand. And yet, somehow, people don't like it. Staggering.

It is not a Jupiter 8 but something that is still very special.

Because of this video and the demo video (as well as a couple other videos I've seen), I went and ordered one (used, since they don't make these new anymore)...eagerly awaiting its arrival.

This thing sounds so good it makes me heart hurt. I was tossing and turning over whether to get this, a System-8, or a JD-XA. But, who am I kidding. This is the one.

I have the integra, same engine I believe so the pads are actually very good on this synth, saw and square waves in pure form with a little tweak, very good. Accoustic stuff good enough for touring musician who needs quick access to those sounds but not so strong for studio work , where i would record real guitars or use VST world instruments that have a wider dynamic range and sound quality. but nevertheless the accoustic stuff here would layer with synth pads nice. Someday i will trade in the integra for this. I think buying used at a reduced price is a very good purchase.

Very nice demo and sounds from the jupiter 80 Scott, tough machine to get to grips with, but once you get over the initial steep learning curve its a wealth of sounds and capabilities.

I know Scott personally .. super nice guy and great player, and the Jupiter 80 is still relevant in 2017, sounds come and go, but a solid all metal chassis and high quality semi-weighted synth action are becoming more rare in this day and age. The Jupiter 80 makes a great center piece controller for the modern day midi/DAW studio if you don't need a piano action. I use the Roland RD-700gx for my weighted controller, and the Jupiter 80 as my synth action controller.

I didn't think an Amish man could possibly get so good at this instrument.

i tried all high end stuffs. Vintage to the latest. in my opinion, korg has the nice splits/combis. Roland has the great pads/synth sounds. And yamaha has the best built keyboards. They last on the roads. and Casio now is making great boards too that wont break your back and bank. its nict to have all these brands coz they help each other. But i dont agree if someone says these is better than these. Or these over that. All keyboards has the strength and weaknesses. 😀

Jade Pascual you have to take your time with a synth and really get to know it inside out. Today's units have endless possibilities, so it's nice to de clutter your studio space and concentrate on "fewer" keyboards/modules. 🕶

dukeofpearl i agree with you sir. ill start selling my keyboards soon. But this jupiter is on my list. i sold my integra 7 and jupiter 50 last year and i regret 😂

Is there somewhere you can download the registrations for some these pieces? Some instructional videos would be awesome too as your really good at these keyboards. I only have the VR-09 though but it's still pretty good.

Great job, Scott, showcasing just some of the capabilities of this fine instrument. I purchased one a few months back and I'm really enjoying it while still discovering new things with this massive board. What registration did you use at 6:44?

Adrian H Sorry for late responsing, UA-cam forgot to inform me that you replied >.<
Varnish-Repair is just like a small pen to hide scratches for example in the paint of your car ;-)

    Really cool
    i have the Jupiter-80,
unfortunately the cleaning lady left small hairline scratches left after dusting from her ring making contact front / center
anybody have any suggestions "how to" remove successfully?
i have used a micro-fiber cloth to rub out, it helped but unsuccessful
    i feel very disappointed

    • @YoshimusicLive
      @YoshimusicLive 10 років тому +2

I think a bit of varnish-repair will work well.
I had some scratches on the surface of my MOTIF XF and I used the repair-stuff with good result.
Just check out your local car-shop
