COMMENT CONTAIN SPOILERS: And finally 2 months later, am done, now what will I do with my life :'(((((((((((( lol I liked the first season more even if it was hard to watch and took me a while to finish it because it was an early 70s anime, the 2nd had that gorgeous 80s art and animation which I love a lot and grow up with(alongside the 90s anime style as well), so I finished it in no time, there's a few things the second season did better than the first one tho which I liked, tho post Carlos fight the anime became quite boring at the same time, like Joe wins whatever match there is and his opponent ends up either crippled or dead... always, and even though he didn't win against any of his 3 main rivals in the ring, he still crashed them in the same sense, AND I LITERALLY HATED WHAT THEY DID WITH CARLOS, crippling my favorite character literally pissed me off lol too bad I was spoiled about his death, SHIT, I was like meh.. instead of shocked or something, I hate the internet for ruining that for me, anyway that Inception like ending was clever, like you know take it as you want, whether he died for you or not, for me he didn't, just quit boxing and hit it off with Yoko or something, or that ridiculous plot armor he have got him stand on his feet and box again and eventually became the world champ, AND YOU AIN'T CHANGING MY MIND. POINT, THE END. It was really great, not just as sport anime, but mostly as a dramatic one, goes down as one of the best anime I've ever saw, and definitely one of my favorite sport anime. Megalo Box is next I guess.
