Hi Greg, good video. Well, this looks like a bit of fun but I've got to say I think Goldfinger's laser has got the edge!! It'll be interesting to see how you get on with acrylic. I engraved (scratched) a nose on the face of a acrylic 'Metropolis' brooch that I made and I wasn't 100 percent happy with it. This looks as if it would have done a better job. It would be interesting to see how one gets on repositioning work once you take the piece off the table and pop it back on again for another pass a few days latter. i.e how accurately can you get it. (I unusually wind up wanting or needing a second go or an addition to whatever I'm making) All the very best . . . Andy
Hello Andy, It is impossible to re-align the piece once you have lifted it up. There are positioning fixtures for multiple engravings, but they only work to get an alignment for the next piece. One can add additional passes to the image, but must do it without moving the piece. Good question. Take care and thanks for watching. Greg Greenwood
Hello Boom, Yes, I saw that. Thank you for the shout out! Glad to see you are using the ideas and methods. Watch my video " 12 Free Hidden Jewelry Tools and Textures". You will really enjoy it. It will definitely get you thinking!! Have fun. Greg Greenwood
@greggreenwood4628 thanks Greg! If you are open to it, im looking to travel and interview metal artists, to share a bit more about the art and inspiration. I will stay in touch! 💥
How would you measure such a depth? I can think of really expensive tools to do this but I'm curious if there's a way that Greg could realistically do, such as testing it on a range of foils?
Hello Lord Mark, I have gone up to 4 K resolution, 100% power, 100% depth, at 6 passes on both copper and sterling silver. This is when you can see the edges of the engraving without having to magnify too much. It is very difficult to measure the depth, but the depth is felt with the "finger nail test" and the "sharp pin test". Both will catch on the engraved edge. If I went with 10 to 12 passes, definitely I would be able to see the edge of the engraving. I hope this gives you an Idea of the engraving depth. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. Greg Greenwood

Hello Flying Cheff, Nice to hear from you! Always trying to have fun. I appreciate your concern. Oh yes, the famous ruler. Take care my friend. Greg Greenwood
I purchased a laserpecker 3 nine months ago and it will not connect to bluetooth. When i turn on the laser it flashed a blue LED for about 10 seconds and then red and blue LED lights start flashing ad will not connect to any of my devices and have even tried plugging it in directly to usb and still not connection. Support for this product has been a nightmare. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM?
Hello Jason, I had to get my phone within a couple of inches for it to connect to bluetooth. Then had to tap on the connect button on the phone a few times. Give it a try. Greg Greenwood
@@greggreenwood4628 ive tried almost everything i cant get an answer why the RED & Blue LED keeps flashing or what that actually means! I cant believe im the only one that has had this issue.
Hello Jason, I don't know why it is flashing but: Uninstall your LP app from your phone. Re install it fresh. Then try to connect through the newly installed app. There just might be a bug in the app and the new one will give you a fresh start. Sorry I don't have any other answer for you. Good Luck Greg Greenwood

Hi Greg, excellent video, I'd be interested in seeing more like this.
Hello Nick, Thank you very much for your comments. I appreciate it. Greg Greenwood
Amazing how compact this is. I have a healthy fear of lasers. Thank you for showing us this interesting tool
Hello Ben L, Yes, lasers can be fearsome. Thank you very much for your comments and for watching. Greg Greenwood
I mentioned you in my latest tutorial! You shared a tip that I was able to use in design! Thank you!

I’m curious too

Greg, where have you been? Having fun, I hope... You've been missed! Wait, it actually came with a wooden ruler? Whoa!
